Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

Have 2 pair, very durable and good looking shoe. Ran marathon and several half marathons in these with no soreness or problems. This shoe, in my experience, is better cushioned than the Trance 8, and better for longer runs. I like the tighter fitting toebox with Brooks, not a lot of excess movement which causes blisters. I hope Brooks continues to make shoes like this

Im in cross country on a high school team we run the 5k in the races. Each week we put about 46 miles in a week not including our runs that we do on our own. In total I have about 546 miles on these shoes they break down amazingly well. The best shoes Ive ever ran in. Will DEFINATELY buy again.

Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

I'ts been 10 years since my last pair of Brooks and the Trance 7 didn't disappoint. I cannot believe how comfortable they are. I'm on my feet for 8+ hours a day and usually head home with sore and tired feet, but not anymore. They have great support and cushioning. The other reviews I've read on here about no room in the toe box, that is why you get a half size bigger, I have no such issue with the Trance 7, they are just great.

other than small toe box, lack of cushioning, restrited stiffy frame(especially at the toes, and the top of the shoe), this shoe is not that bad. The cushioning goes away at about2miles, 3 miles in summer. I used them on treadmills, and they are good. overall 3 stars.
I am going to try the trance 8,they look less stiff.

Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

Love the shoe. I'm about 165 lbs. with very mild pronation. Had mild nerve pains left over from last shoe, but worked them out with the Trance 7 over a couple of weeks. I needed about 50 miles to break these in. Have over 150 on them now and they're great. Just bought the next pair. Won't be for everyone, has stabilty, but slightly lower profile means I feel the road.

Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

I bought all of them, and the Brooks Trance 7's with a high arch insole (OdorEater plus gel) makes these far superior (lighter, cooler, running comfort) than the Kayano or Nimbus. These are wierd out of the box, feel like they are curled, and feel high on the inner heel, and the toe stripe), but all this settles down after a few days. These could be the next "chariot"...don't change them!! Greatest shoe ever...period..

Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

I've been running in Brooks Adrenaline and love them. Right now I'm wondering why I decided to try something new. The shoe just doesn't fit. I feel like I should have ordered a 1/2 size bigger, even though they're the same size as my other Brooks. I'm returning them for another pair of Adrenalines.

Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

I am a heavy runner (195 lbs.) and a heavy heel striker. The cushioning is awesome, they have a very unique way of dispersing energy. I have been running in the Adrenalines and usually get about 300 miles out of a pair so I hope the Trance is in that neighborhood. Word of caution!! These felt really weird out of the box but after running in them I was sold.

Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

I've run in dozens of models from as 4-5 manufacturers. I pretty much settled on the Asics gel MC plus which Roadrunner still has as a classic. They hold up well, no injuries, good stability and I've probably gone through 15 pair over the years. Occasionally I try something new but they don't hold up and usually, with more cushioning, I get shin splints.
I have to say that the Brooks Trance 7 are the best shoes I've ever run in. They are really fantastic, cushioning, stability and fit. I never thought I'd be able to get the cushioning and stability without injury. With 75 miles I'm really impressed. Hate to see them discontinued.

Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

As a fairly small and lightweight male runner at 5'8" and 138lb, this shoe performs very well for me. I'm a slight overpronator and was worried that the Trance would overcompensate with excessive pronation control. But I needed a cushioned stability shoe for marathon training, and found other shoes in the same category such as the Kayano XIII and Adidas Control 4 were totally overkill in terms of stability provided. The Trance feels a bit less stable and rigid, with a firmer type of cushioning similar in road feel to that of New Balance. It's not the pillow ASICS type of cushion so if you want soft, you may not be happy. But you can tell the cushioning is there as after 20 miler training runs, the legs feel fresh. I even raced a half marathon in the Trance when I left my racing shoes at home. I was able to keep up with my 21 year old son for half the race and finished close behind in what I feel is a decent 1:29:08. Gotta say I was pleased with that.

Would not have spent this much if the shoe didn't run great. Excellent training shoe for my foot which requires ample room for my right toe knuckle. Comments about Mens Brooks Trance 7 Running Shoe:

Most of the complaints about this shoe deal with the amount of cushion engineered into it. I can see where the bad reviews are coming from due to the fact that the shoes are not very comfortable right out of the box, but what I have noticed is the great amount of impact protection that this shoe has. I had only been running for a week after an injury and these shoes helped me keep my legs fresh for a 10:03 two mile. The cushioning is not squishy, but rather bouncy. This makes the transitions during running easier on the joints.

I waited till I had completed 50 miles on these as I only wear them on my weekly long runs outside before posting this review. For me these are perfect shoes, I had tried the NB 1223 but they were too stable/controlling these are just right. After 10 miles in these today I'll be ready to do another 6 or so tomorrow with no problem. In fact I just preordered a new pair of the color change due at the beginning of next month from RRS.

I bought these to replace my well-worn Trance 6's. I didn't think Brooks could improve upon the 6, but boy was I wrong! The mesh upper of the 7 is much cooler than 6, and the ride actually felt more natural to me than the previous model. Nothing but kudos for Brooks on improving a great shoe!

great shoe. personally, i think this shoe fits narrower than most shoes i've tried. it's also lower in volume so it gives a nice glove like fit. i've had the previous model and wasn't very happy with it because it lacked support. it was also too squishy. it has more support this year and the cushion is a little bit firmer/springier. the asthetics is a heck of a lot better! but it's more functional because trance 6 wasn't very breathable. this one allows a lot of air flow. very good, high quality shoe.

Nothing special about this shoe - except the exorbitant price. The stability is mediocre. Especially on the medial side of the forefoot. For a flagship stability shoe, I expected full-length support. Instead, I felt myself pronating on toe-off. The cushioning is decent, but not amazing. All in all, this isn't a terrible shoe. But for the price, it's not worth it.

I live in NM and only run approximately 42 miles per week on pavement in the heat. I have already notice the sole of this shoe will be be hard to wear out before it is time to replace it. The shoes are light, durable, stable, and good looking. You know how sometimes you just love what you purchased and when it was time to replace it you find out they are all gone or discontinued. Well, you better buy two pairs of these babies because they feel great and I swear I am running faster.
