Comments about Men's Brooks Running Shoes | Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - Road Runner Sports:

I suffer from various foot problems, including accessory navicular syndrome (extra bone on right instep) flat feet and very wide feet due to fractures of each 5th metatarsal. Finding an athletic shoe pretty frustrating, but this model has done the trick. Well done!

Great shoe for the over pronator. I'm 6'4" 225, I was coming off of a calf tear when I was turned onto these. I have had them for a year and it's time for a new pair. Noticed some calf pain again after running to 5 milers back to back.

Not as comfy as the 7, but a great shoe for a high arched neutral runner (6'5" 240lbs) when combined with RRS insole...Previously tried Kayano 11-13, Gemini, ASICS just not good for larger heavier runners...

this shoes are really good. i am very picky about my shoes because i am a cross country/track runner for Long Beach State University. I have a very weird gait and i cannot just use any shoe. My first run in these felt very good. had about the same cushioning as the Asics (our sponsor) Gt-2140s but lighter. Great shoe will stock up with two more pairs of these.

Comments about Men's Brooks Running Shoes | Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - Road Runner Sports:

Initially, GTS 8 are very firm and caused some foot pain especially transitioning from NB 768 (softer) to GTS 8. After breaking in GTS 8 (had to remove Superfeet for break in), these shoes provided a solid, firm, and stable ride. Very good shoe now but need to adjust to firmness on this model.

Comments about Men's Brooks Running Shoes | Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - Road Runner Sports:

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 is an excellent stability shoe. It performs well on faster paced long runs. The shoe is very form fitting. These are the perfect shoe for those whom have medium to low arches and severely over pronate. The only down side to this shoe is that they only last for about 250-300 miles. After that they seem to shift in toward the inside of the foot. Other than that, they are an excellent high mileage shoe.

Comments about Men's Brooks Running Shoes | Brooks Adrenaline GTS 8 - Road Runner Sports:

I'm a big guy (6'2", 215lb, mild overpronator). The Adrenaline GRS-8 is my first "real" running shoe, and my first pair of Brooks (I used to be a dedicated Asics runner until a pair of Gel-Foundations nearly ruined my feet). I was fitted for these, but I have to admit, that the price was simply just right. Now, 160-150 miles later, I'm seriously loving the Adrenaline GTS-8's. Very stiff at first, the cushioning qualities seem to become more pronounced as you run in them more. I'm thinking about buying a second pair to have as backups as soon as these give out.
My only beef is that the stiffer cushioning may not be suitable for longer runs. But but for shorter, daily jaunts (5-8 miles), these shoes seem to do the trick.

I have been running in Adrenalines since they were just the Adrenalines and have had very good luck with them. However, the new Adrenaline 8 seems too soft and has too little heel support and stability. I would actually rate this show lower except that it is an Adrenaline and I have to give it credit for that. Only time will tell if it will actually hold up like the Adrenalines of the past. After only a few runs, I have my doubts.

Comfortable shoe if stiff at first. I first used the 6 and i loved it - so when i needed new i went for the latest model (2 pairs). Despite rotating shoes I find the outside of the heel wears down very quickly - once i have hit about 130 - 150 miles i have to replace the shoe, even though i got over 300 with the 6's. I am 6ft and weigh 175lbs with mild overpronation

This is my 4th pair of GTS Adrenaline's; that should speak for itself. These shoes give great mid-foot support, provide an easy forward roll off the toe, and the sole wear has improved with each series. I've worn Brooks, off and on, since 1977 (the original Vantage), and I keep coming back. This is a great shoe, although I've often wondered why I see so many more women than men in them, at least here in Washington, DC.

I have a narrow, long foot which is almost impossible to find shoes for (12 1/2 A Width) and am a heavy runner (about 215). These shoes fit incredibly well without any adjustments. I didn't require any fancy lacing tricks or added insoles to take up space. Most importantly my feet feel great even after a long run. I will definitely be getting another pair.

Great stable trainer. Cushioning is good for medium to larger builds. I'm 170lbs and feels fine when running. Lighter builds may find it a hard ride. This is my second pair of Adrenalines - had the Adrenaline 7 previous and am now converted from being a Saucony runner for the last 5 years. Those with rigid arches or light frames should check out a different shoe.

Have run in the Adrenaline series since October '04, and have loved the shoe until this edition. Seems WAY too stiff. Like running on boards. Feet & legs hurt after only a few runs in them. Can't feel the cushioning. Similar to the Adrenaline 6 model, which was a little disappointing compared to the 5 model. Noticeably worse than the 6 model. The Adrenaline 7 model was MUCH better. Have since swithced to the Infiniti. GREAT shoe so far. Have almost 100 miles in them.

I have worn Glycerins and Adrenalines for several years. I have about 125 miles on this pair of Adrenalines. At first, they felt great. But they break down quickly and their overall durability isn't what it was 2 to 3 years ago.

Ran for a year in the Adrenaline GTS 6. Loved them. Trained for and completed an Ironman in the Adrenaline GTS 7. Great shoe. Have done two 10 mile runs in the GTS 8 this week. Awful shoe. Legs hurt during the run and now I have bad joint pain since those runs. I'm returning them for a refund and found the GTS 7 on a different website and bought 2 pairs b/c Brooks is discontinuing them. GTS 8 fits differently than the previous models and they're not as comfortable. Brooks really dropped the ball on this one.

Excellent Shoe. Ran 1/2 Marathon in them w/out any problems. I'm not a big Brooks fan but this shoe is great for Big runners who are not overpronators. I will use no other shoe to train in , so I hope they keep this shoe around for a long while.

I have run in Brooks for 10 years-mostly Glycerin and the Dyad. Tried these based upon my Podiatrist's recommendation. I use custom orthotics and these shoes are just not for me at all. My legs actually hurt at the thighs, knees and ankles after long runs. I'll go back to the Infiniti or the Glycerins.

    Sat, April 05,2008:
This is the latest in the Adrenaline series and is generally a good, lightweight, stable shoe. Like the earlier versions of Adrenalines, you likely won't get a large number of miles in this shoe before the midsole breaks down. For some reason, the GTS 8 does not have the same fit as earlier versions; it seems to be a tad longer and a tad narrower. If, like me, you loved the GTS 7, you may not like the fit of the GTS 8. FWIW, I am 6-4 and 190, and a fairly high mileage (50 mpw) runner who runs mostly on trails.

I was totally unimpressed with this version. I have about 100 miles on them. I don't see a lot of cushioning left, just inserted sorbathene inserts for additional cushion. They're not as good as prior versions.

I think I have had every version of the Trance since it came out. But with all of the years of pounding I am now into a 2E width, so the Trance is out. In with the Adrenaline. Serious lack of cushioning for me compared to the Trance, so out with the Adrenaline.

Not sure about all of the complaints about cushioning and sole wear. Mine have 200 miles in six weeks and are still great. Probably have another 100 before I switch for my marathon pair. They are light, with good cushioning switched from Saucony's. Stop complaining and run!

I have worn these shoes for several years. I usually rotate between these, Glycerin, and Pegasus. I also wear custom orthotics. The newest Anderalines plus my orthotics overcorrected my stride causing medial knee pain. I'm sending mine back. There's a shoe for everyone out there but these didn't do the job for me.

    Mon, March 17,2008:
I have had these shoes since they were introduced. There is ample firm cushioning (i.e., not mushy) and a good amount of stability. These are a great alternative to the Asics 21-- series, although the Adrenalines are not quite as narrow and have less arch support than the 2100 series. To prospective buyers who read these reviews to inform their purchasing decisions (like me), I would hesitate before listening to the string of one-star reviews, which all appear to have been written by the same person/company (same tone, sentence construction, and building on the same themes) over a 2.5-day period. This is a solid shoe, and the consistently favorable reviews across the web should give credence to what I consider a fact. Cheers.

Agree with other posts on lack of cushioning and quick sole wearout. I paid $85 for these shoes and can't fathom why the rubber in the soles wore out at 68 miles. Are the soles made of tissue paper?

    Mon, March 10,2008:
Nice fit and comfort. But, cushioning is not there. In comparing these to the first Adrenaline followed by the Talons in the mid to late 90s just prior to the original GTS, those shoes had great cushioning. They were built on a slip last. I just don't see how you can get the full benefit of the rear HydroFlo by putting a board over it. My perfect shoe would be this Adrenaline without the board.

    Mon, March 10,2008:
The shoes are great, no problems so far (6'3"/225). They provide the right balance of support and cushioning for me. They are in a 4 shoe rotation (Trance, Wave Nirvana, and Grid Hurricane) so the miles won't rack up for a while. But this is more of a customer service review than anything. All the crap (that's what it is) about RRS having poor Customer Service is just plain wrong. I hooked up these these guys for the first time while in Iraq and have been a loyal customer since 2003. They are top notch when it comes to customer service and they have served those that serve you very well. For my latest order, I goofed and ordered 13's; I'm a 14 !!!! Simply called a Fit Expert, they cancelled my order, and processed a correct order right there on the phone. Keep up the good work!!!!

I am a big guy, 215 lbs. and I have been having a heck of a time trying to find a replacement for my Nike Equalon I that carried me through my first marathon. I tried the Equalon II and it was a no go after 2 miles. These Adrenalines though been a great replacement. I love the firm cushioning and the fit and feel are outstanding with plenty of support too. Great shoe!

Preliminarily, and true to Adrenaline tradition, seems like a solid shoe. BUT an issue on sizing...I was an Adrenaline 6 devotee (skipped over the 7) and had to go from an 8 1/2 in the Adrenaline 6, to an 8 wide in the Adrenaline 8 (it's a significantly longer shoe). So echoing another reviewer's comments, I would be cautious about 'sizing up'; in fact, you may need to size down if your feet are shorter in length and broader in width.

Excellent - Shinsplints no more!!! I am a large runner 200lbs5'11". I gave up running more than 15 years ago because of shinsplints. Every time I tried to get into running again, the shinsplints came back after 3 to 4 weeks of light running. Since I bought these shoes I have now been running a solid 4 Months without any problem... Thank you brooks for the great shoe.

Wow! A spectacular shoe. No wonder it was given a best buy by runners world. I've been running 20+ Years. I've worn the Asics Kayano 9,10,and 12 series. The saucony trigon 4 and hurricanes 8,9 and 10. I've worn the Asics 2110,and 2120's. I always seem to find my way back to the Adrenaline series. I've worn the 5,6,and now the 8's in brooks adrenaline. The adrenaline 8 has a good transition from heel to toe off. Great for moderate pronators who need high tech cushioning in the forefoot (late stage pronators). This is definitely a bang for the buck shoe. I run 20 to 30 miles per week at 6'2" and 180 lbs. I'm training for my third half marathon within one year. Looking forward to a sub 1:30 time. Enjoy!!

So far so good! I've been running in the Adrenaline line for some time now, and the 8s continue to impress. The full length MoGo is awesome, it really "cushes" the ride up. I can't make out a clear difference in the fit of the shoe but what I can say is that it is very nicely formed to your foot. The forefoot is bulked up from previous models (I think) which helps in the overall stride. The mesh upper is also improved (more durable) which is a big plus. Overall, an excellent continuation of the Adrenaline line. A full cushioned ride with excellent balanced guidance, the 8s are sure get you running happy.

Been running in adrenalines for a long time and this shoe is still great. Right amount of stability and good cushioning. Note, unlike asics, you will need to break these in and it took me about 100 miles but after that you really notice how good the cushioning is. Only concern is that brooks changed the outsole grooves in the heel and I have noticed that it is wearing a little fast but otherwise no complaints. For reference, I'm 6'2" and 180 lbs.

On the advice of the "fit expert" I tried these brooks. After about 100 miles of training, all shock absorbsion is completely gone. Also the toe box is narrow compared to NB shoes. Probably the worst shoe I've ever owned. Would recommend you save your money and look for another brand like NB, etc...

A good fit but the upper is a bit starchy and the ride is very firm, more like jolting. I think I'll return these and go back to asics and or nike so I don't feel so beaten up. These make my foot feel like it's strapped on a hard piece of rubber.

First run impression: The new Adrenalines are a great update to an already great shoe. I ran for months in the 7 (narrow) and then switched to the Saucong Trigon 5 Guide to see if I liked it better. I didn't. The Saucony had a nice ride, but it was too sloppy and I had to use a stability insole to to align my foot right. The Adrenaline always fits me like a glove. The 8 feels just as good as the 7, maybe a little lighter. I usually use Sof Sole cushinon insoles, but, with the new Adrenalines, I don't need them. I may try them later, but, for now, the fit and cushion is perfect. Like the 7, though, it could use a little more aggressive toe off. What I liked about the Saucony was the curve of the sole made my stride feel faster. If the Adrenaline had that, I'd give it 5 enthusiastic stars. As for now, I'm totally happy to be back in Brooks.

I started with a short, slow 2 mile run, wearing the new Brooks Adrenaline GTS-8. Rubs on my right heel, and on my left outside ankle. Gave them another try on a 5 mile run the next day, tried to adjust the lacing to get a better feel, but I will be returning them. Sloppy in the toe box and they seem very stiff, they "clomp" instead of smoothly transitioning from heel to toe. I was spoiled by being able to use the Fila Sanctuary III¿s right out of the box, with no issues whatsoever.
