I was so sure that Ariels were the right shoe for me, I went ahead and bought 2 pairs of the Ariel 10. Bad decision. The support and cushioning is still great, but the tongue is way too stiff and long. It rubs and presses against the ankle in the most uncomfortable way. Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I would advise not to buy this model of Ariel. I have worn Ariel's for years. This shoe wears out too fast, top bunches up and has made nerve problems on the tops of both my feet. To tolerate them i have to use foam pads, and a callouse cushion on each foot. As the years have gone by I have noticed the padding inside the shoe has become less and less. I think Brooks is cheaping out on quality ,but of course the price is still high isn't it?? . Pros

Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: Wonderful sneaker. Immediate comfort in my lower back once I put these on. Supports the pronation very well! Comfort on the ball of the foot. Only suggestion would be to make the same model w/out the "airy" toes for winter walking.

Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I injured my left foot running in worn out shoes, and since then have relied on these Brooks Ariels to prevent a re-occurance. The keep my feet from rolling inwards & don't feel like I'm wearing clunky orthotic shoes. I've been wearing these for 3 years now, and my feet are injury free!
Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I have worn the Ariel for several years and really liked the previous models. The Ariel 10's caused a hip problem with severe pain and I couldn't run for several days. The shoe is also very stiff and hasn't loosened up. Brooks better fix this model and quickly get out a model 11. In the mean time, I've had to switch brands. Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I have been wearing this shoe for long-distance and marathon running for many years, since before they switched the name from Beast to Ariel. I am only 140 lbs., but my feet overpronate, and this is the only shoe that is supportive enough to prevent soreness and pain in my hip flexors. I wear them with Thorlo running socks and have never had any problems with blisters or such. The tongue is short enough to stay out of the way of your foot as you run. For those of you having problems with the lacing and "nerve problems" on the top of your feet, try lacing them parallel - (Lace the first two eyelets on the big-toe side of the tongue - not the first eyelet on either side of the tongue like you normally would. Bring the lace from the first eyelet straight across to the first eyelet on the other side of the tongue and push it through. Pull it straight up the side, skipping one eyelet, and thread it through the third eyelet. Pull it straight across the tongue, and push it through the third e Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I love the Brooks ARIEL - this is my 4th or 5th pair - but this version is very tight in the toe area and something is off with the heel padding as the achilles tendon is very sore wearing these shoes. I'm off to order something else. Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I've been wearing Brooks Ariel for as long as I can remember and this is the first time I've been unable to run in them. They bruise the top of my foot - it's as if the tongue bunches up or the silver material lining the laces is too stiff. It's awful. I've had to return to wearing my worn-out old ones or I would be hobbling around. Brooks: please fix this and bring on the Ariel 11 before my shoes wear out! Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I too have been wearing Brooks Ariel for 3 years and have loved them. When I got version 9, I could not fit my foot into them much less insert my orthotics. They were definitely tight through the forefoot. Despite this, I walked my first marathon only to get numerous blisters. I have sent them back to try the same size but widder. Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I have been buying Ariels for years and have been pleased up until now. The new version seemed promising, but, after my first few runs I found that something was going on with the tongue/laces-the end result was that my feet were very badly cut up where the laces would tie by my ankle. I hoped that after a few runs my feet would adjust, but they didn't, so I switched to the Mizuno Wave Renegade. Lighter and more flexible, although possibly less supportive-so far I'm happy with them. Hopefully the next Ariel will be better...but for now staying far away from this model Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I have used Ariels for so long I cannot remember what model number I started with but it was before 6! I cannot stand Ariel 10s. I had to try to find a place to buy an earlier model. Like those who have reviewed previously, it is the tongue on the shoe - causes all sorts of bruising and other problems. Brooks, what were you thinking??!!! Please come out with an updated model with a fixed tongue soon before I have to switch brands! Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I've been wearing Brooks Ariel for about 5 years and was looking forward to trying version 10 for the first time since it is slightly lighter than version 9. This shoe is not as comfortable as Brooks Ariel 9 and has a lot of tightness in the forefoot. I loosened up the laces considerably (the laces on this version are a bit too short), but this did not solve the problem. I will stick with version 9 until Brooks fixes this problem. Pros

Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: My husband and I have been wearing Brooks runners for about 5 years and we find that they are unsurpassed in terms of durability and comfort. Both of us suffer from arch problems and have been prescribed orthodics which fit beautifully in the runner and allows us to be fully active in performing our Gym exercises.

Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I am a trail runner and I have found that I need a motion control shoe. Unfortunately, I have not found a trail runner/motion control shoe so I have used the Ariel 10 as a trail running shoe. It has been a great shoe! I seem to develop various ankle and hip problems with other shoes, but not with the Ariel 10! It is comfortable and solves my pronation problems perfectly. The only thing it could do better is last a little longer. If the Ariel were build as a trail runner it may last longer for my uses. On the road this shoe may last longer??

Comments about Womens Brooks Ariel 10 Running Shoe: I keep having to come back to the Brooks Ariel. I was running in an expensive Saucony shoe that started to cause me pains in my shin and as soon as I started wearing my Brooks shoes the problem has started to subside. They do take a few runs to break the flexibility from back to front in but once you do, they are good to go. Can't wait for the Ariel 11 to arrive at my doorstep! Will let you know what I think after a few runs.
