Great shoe! Very comfortable and cool with cushioning that flows from front to back seamlessly. I'm a moderate pronator and the motion control aspects of the shoe work great for me.

Not nearly as good a shoe as the Trance 7...lighter, but rolls significantly when running...great daily bob around shoe!

So far so good. The mens brooks trance 8 is an excellent high mileage shoe for those who are seeking a relatively lighter high mileage shoe.

question... how many miles i need to run with those shoes to feel the cushion? I ran in nirvana's the last two years and change because the poor average rating... mistake? 6' 175 pounds... only 25 miles in them...

I trained and ran a marathon in these shoes. Most other shoes gave me aches and pains but these were terrific and probably the best pair of sneakers I've ever had. I am 6' and 180 pounds and I have 150+ miles in my pair as well and still in the rotation of running shoes.

overpriced, ...too thin, light and less stable...Trance 7 was better, yet maybe not be as good as Saucony ProGrid Paramount which has a lateral
stabilizer in the sole; but comfortable as a bop around shoe

Not worth the money. I am 6'-0" 175 lb and have always run in Kayanos and Hurricanes. Tried these and am very disappointed after 150+ miles in them. They have caused constant pain in my shin and the tops of my feet. Its back to the Kayano for this runner.

A very good running shoe. As soon as I put them on I could feel my feet just wanting to get moving. Great, glove-like, fit and curved last. I'm rotating shoes and only have one pair of these (they are expensive!) and never feel as good when I don't wear these. Best I've run in. Will buy more

I am 6'3'' 175lbs and run 40 miles/week. This is the best shoe I have ever run in. Ran in the Kayano for a while and thought it was good but not great. Tried the Nirvana which was terrible and now am using the Trance. Have put 380 miles on mine and am getting ready to get my next pair. Very light and flexible. Generous toe box. Awesome shoe.

Sat, December 20,2008:
Had 2 pair of Trance 7 prior. These are a great looking shoe, and lightweight, but they do not have enough cushioning for a marathon. My right toe, foot was sore for a couple of weeks after the race. Like a turf toe type injury. I did not have this problem with the 7. Shoe is overpriced too

Have put 25 miles on them the first week right out of the box. Good stability, not as soft as the Kayano or Equalon+2. Good for this heavier runner who overpronates only mildly. (5'7", 215lbs) Knee and foot soreness have all but disappeared since I got them.

I wish this came in wide widths. Many years of running have changed my shoe size to a 2E width. Come on Brooks. Add some width options to your best shoe.

I had my shoes for about 1 1/2 months now. I tend to reserve my judgement on products until I have really gotten to know them. The Trance 8 is just what the doctor ordered. I have had ankle and foot problems for the last ten years following an injury. The Trance has given me the stabilty that was needed. Additionally,I love the generous toebox.

Wed, September 17,2008:
I've been a long time Kayano devotee and decided to try a new show for variety. The Trance 8 is much lighter and yet seems just as stable as the Kayano. The cusioning is not as "squishy" as the Asics. The toebox is roomier and the stretchy material allows my toes to move freely. The shoe has an odd profile in that the front of the shoe curls up; I'm not sure what it's purpose is, but I like it the feel of it. The Trance 8 feels great right out of the box with no break-in needed. Overall an excellent shoe.

Sat, September 13,2008:
For the past 15 years I've run in all the well-known popular running shoes. The Trance 8 is best running shoe I have ever run in. The Trance 8's fit my feet perfectly. They are so comfortable you feel like you are wearing slippers. It is generously wide in the toe box but tapers very nicely through the midfoot with a snug heel. It's not as soft and cushiony as the Glycerin 6 but the cushioning is very good. To top it off the Trance 8's are very light and flexible for a stability shoe. The sizing runs a hair long (True?)so make sure you try them on. They are pricey but I highly recommend them!

Best shoe I have ever ran in. I'm 5'8" and 170lbs and ran a 7 miler first
time in these shoes. It was like running in slippers. I have ran in the Andrenalines for 5 years, but these shoes are definitely worth the extra money!!

I have been searching for a great shoe since my adreneline's and this is my answer. At 195lbs. and 6ft. these babies work, had one of the best runs ever the other day. If you pronate slightly and are a larger runner then I would recommend this shoe.

I'm 6'1" 185, and run two 1/2 marathon's a year. Been running in Kayano's since 2000, was recommended to try this shoe by the fit expert. It's alright, doesn't feel as soft as the Kayano, but it is lighter and more flexible. For me a well cushioned ride is necessary, others seem to think this is the greatest shoe ever, I'm returning these and going back to my old stand by.

trance 7 was great... this latest version is even better. few changes on the upper makes the forefoot feel wider and roomier. just like the 7, great stability and cushioning. this is NOT for heavy runners who need significant motion control. i use custom orthotics which work well with the shoes. using this for my first marathon in few months.

Excellent shoe. I`m 6.33 ft and 191 lbs running 35 miles a week, I used to wear asiscs kayano, adidas and new balance for almost 3 years, I considered asiscs and new balance very good shoes, but trance 8 feels much more comfortable, it has better support and excelent response, since I began to use it my illiotibial band syndrome disappered. Is my first Brooks, and I have no doubt this is the best shoe I have ever used
