I love my Brooks Trance! I had issues with my knees when I ran (couldn't walk after long distance runs), but that all changed with my Brooks Trance running shoes. I won't wear anything else! I did like my Trance 7 (blue) better . . . I'd rate the Trance 7 as a "5" and Trance 8 as a 4.5.

Very disappointed compared to my last Trance 6. I know Brooks is trying to go green, testing this new fabric, but the forefoot felt too scratchy. I had to exchange these for another brand, and the jury is still out. I will go back to Brooks again, eventually though, because they make the best running shoes imho:) I notice they already came out with another version of Trance 8?! No wonder...

Love this shoe! A bit apprehensive when the 8 came out after liking the 7 so well, but 8 blows away the feel of the 7. As a marthoner I would now own nothing else...

I was really excited when I got these, I had a gait analysis done and they were suggested to me. I needed two pairs of shoes for my marathon training. Great on short runs. However, I agree with the others I tend to always wear my Sauconys on my long runs. I have turned these into my gym/crosstraining/treadmill shoes to at least get my money out of them. I'll stick with my Hurricane's!!

I love these shoes. I had a hard time finding a shoe with support that felt natural to run on. I switched from orthotics in a neutral shoe, I ran in for 3 years, to these shoes with superfeet and all knee problems and aches went away. pricey but worth it. love them!

I thought it was just me but after reading that other people don't like these sneaks for long runs, I feel vindicated. They are now my treadmill shoes. Think I'll go back to my saucony's.

At first I loved this shoe. It was a lot lighter than my Saucony's and I felt like I ran faster! But after 2 long runs I began experiencing pain on my inner ankle. On the 3rd long run I was afraid I was going to have to cancel my marathon coming up. The only different thing on all my long runs was the shoes. I switched back to the Saucony and no more pain. I'm surpised the Trance is a stability plus shoe as the support is WAY lacking compared to my Saucony. These may be good for short distance runs but I don't suggest anyone doing marathon distances purchase these (at least not if your feet need help like mine do!)

These shoes offer less stability and control than Trance 7. I could fold the shoe in half! I weigh 115, 5'3 and run about 35 miles per week. I had knee and hip pain after a 5 mile run.

I loved the Trance 7's. But am very disappointed with the 8's. I am training for my 7th marathon, and these shoes have caused me some major pain in my IT Band. I have gone back to running in the Asics Kayano's and have found a huge adjustment to my IT Band.

I have been wearing the Trance 7 for a couple of years and was disappointed to see it discontinued. I ordered the new Trance 8 and was a little nervous that they would live up to the Trance 7. I have to say though that I have worn them on three long runs and am very pleased. They offer a little more cushion and support which helps on those long runs. I will definitly be oedering another pair.
