Great shoe. I bought these to train for a police academy physical agility exam. The ride is comfortable except after about a week I felt what seemed like a pit about the size of a dime, inside the sole of the shoe. I'm not sure if there's a gel pocket in the forefoot that went "flat", but that's perhaps about as close to accurate as I can describe it. Also, the tongue constantly rides to the side. It doesn't affect my performance, but it does get annoying. Otherwise, like I mentioned, it is a comfortable shoe with great support. I used to get shin splints on other brand shoes. However, I seem to be doing just fine with these. Others have complained of too much cushioning and too narrow in the forefoot. I am an average "D" width and I have to admit they were a little snug initially, but after awhile the shoe either somewhat conformed to my foot or I simply got accustomed to the feel. I've bought several stability+ shoes. This one is the lightest. When running, the cushion is great. I weigh more than 200 pounds. Thanks to these great tech shoes, my knees is fine even I ran 6 days a week, 8 miles perday. Through running, I've lost moren than 30 pounds.
Thanks for providing such great shoes for obesity person.
PS: Brooks should provide 2e for wide feet person. D is a little bit narrow for me.

I wore out my third pair of Adrenaline 8's and thought I would see what a little extra $$$ would get me in the Trance 9. I'm 6'5" and 200 lbs and was looking for a stability shoe that would last a bit longer while providing the cushioning I was looking for. The Trace 9 did just that. I purchased a pair of Trance 9's a few weeks before the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas 1/2 Marathon. They performed exceptionally well; no pains, no blisters, no problems. I'm hoping the shoe price will come down in price, but I would still buy them again.

CONGRATS to BROOKS for becoming the main shoe sponsor for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and 1/2 Marathon series. Would be nice to see Road Runner Sports get involved. RRS has some great products for this type of event.

I felt compelled to provide some type of a review for this product due to me finding a shoe that I absolutely love. I current rotate between the Trance 9's and the Adrenaline 10's and for me it is a perfect match. The Trance's provide a cushioned ride, while providing the support I need (I have a medium arch and I slightly over pronate). Also, the Trance's heel to toe transition is phenomenal. Your toes really feel that roll at the end which helps put some bounce into your runs (rhythm is very important). The Adrenaline 10's does not pack as much shoe (cushioning and alluring roll), but it does an awesome job wrapping your foot (not as roomy as Trance's) and giving you a secured fit to help you naturally position your foot the correct way with each stride. I love alternating between these two shoes because depending on my day I either decide whether I need the extra cushioning, or I can do without the extra cushioning and just want to put some miles without the extra cushioning weight (Adrenalines) -- It is all mental. Some of my attributes if helpful to any one (5'7 180lbs (D Width) and would consider myself an intermediate runner).

6' 2", 170 lbs, mild overpronator. This was recommended after returning the Mizuno Alchemy 9 to my local running store. Great cushioning and stability with a good upper. Would like slightly more toe wiggle room, but not an issue thus far. Lower profile shoe with a great transition. I still like the Ghost 2 that I tried, but I have fallen (not flat) arches. Little pricey though. Probably go back to Nike Structure Triax after these (less expensive and similar feel).

I bought a pair of these after having success with Brooks Adrenaline GTS9's. Unfortunately the trances did not have enough room in the toe box. They were so narrow that I had numbness on most of my toes. The amount of cushionshing made the trances too stiff and unflexible. I think these shoes are better for a 200 lb + runner. If you are a smaller runner around 160, try the adrenalines instead...they feel softer, have a better fit along the arch, and allow your toes room.

Bought these as a replacement for my Trance 8's which I've worn through. Love the update and think it is a great shoe. Definitely much softer landing than the Trance 8, but still very supportive with great flexibility in the forefoot. Only thing I disliked is the high arches caused from the shoe liner. Even though I have fairly high arches, these were still too high and felt like they could cause blisters on longer runs. I switched out the shoe liner with the ones from my Trance 8's and I now have the perfect fit.

This is a great shoe, with a great fit. Well cushioned in the forefoot, midfoot, and heel; good stability. Lightweight, flexible, breathable. Looks great/great color scheme. This update is far superior to the previous version. One of the best running shoes I have ever had so far.

Ran 14 miles right out of the box and they felt good. They have the perfect amount of stability support for me (6'4", 185 lbs. with moderate overpronation). I had one small blister which is to be expected with brand new shoes at that distance.

I was fitted at a local running store for these, and was immediately impressed. The price was higher than most others in the category, but I went with them anyway. After seeing them here, at a price that was nearly half of what I paid at the local store, I unreluctantly snatched up another pair. They are fantastic!

I do road run on average of four times week (5-14 miles each run)and these shoes feel great. Feels like a little extra cushioning.

I love these shoes. i am 6'4" 200lbs and these shoes feel great. I run 40+ miles a week and after trying many styles of shoes these have worked the best. I ran in cushioned shoes and had several injuries. Since I switch to these, no problems for the last 9 months. I rotate shoes and take them out of the rotation at 500miles. This has worked great for me.

I am 6'0" and 225, and i recently purchased Asics Gel Kayanos to replace my Brooks Trance 7 that were worn out. Boy was that a mistake! I hated hiking boots with tennis shoe styling... so i exchanged them for the trance 9. I can't believe how much i love these shoes! They are light, but absorb an immense amount of impact. They are comfortable, and have a sole shape that promotes good running technique. Great Shoe!

I have purchased many other brands of running shoe and finally I've found the best running shoe for me. I ran my first marathon on Oct/10 and my legs, knees were not aching at all. Will buy again!

I have run in Nike, Mizuno, Saucony, Asics, and New Balance. Brooks has always had the best combination of cushion, fit, weight and endurance. Trance has proven to be the best for me (180lbs, narrow foot) and has the .5 lengths that make for a perfect fit. This is my 3rd pair of this model and I couldn't imagine using anything else anymore. A more pricey shoe, but I don't have to send them back.

I'm training for my first marathon and these shoes were recommended by seasoned runners. This is my second pair. They're light, stable, and very cushiony...like running on clouds.
