      This update to the FSC2 looks much better, not as utilitarian as the former style. Price is terrific at [$], and it gives you the basics - heart rate. I use heart rate to keep my runs in check, and ensure I recover adequately before the next hard effort.

        I use this while on the treadmill, riding my horse and walking outside. It is easy to use...no fancy bells and whistles, but would prefer not to have the chest strap to deal with even though it is comfortable.

        The best thing about this product is that it is compatible with most of the equipment in my gym. The heart rate reads out on the machine.

        There are two minuses. First you cannot see both your time and heart rate at the second time. The second is that you can't stop the watch while waiting at a light and then continue the current run after the light changes.

        This is my 3rd Polar heart rate monitor, and it has been very disappointing. I use it for running, cycling and swimming, as well as at the gym. Unfortunately, the heart rate registers only about 50% of the time in a dry environment, and hardly ever in the pool. I was injured for a while, so it's too late to return it. Polar is telling me to clean the contacts to remove salt build up, but the snaps are squeaky clean. They're sending me a new strap, so we'll see if that helps. Alot of money for a heart rate monitor that doesn't work.
