I love my F4. I noticed that a few folks wrote in to say that they couldn't change the battery - but you can! Mail it to Polar with a check and they will replace it for about $13. Go to their website for more info. It was a pain to be without it for ten days, but at least I know it has a new battery warranty and is waterproofed.

I've had my hrm for nearly 2 years. I have found that it's easy to use. It covers all the bases as far as high/low/average heart rates,cals burned,amt/time of workout(s),summary for several days, + more. My battery went dead after 1 1/2 years of 10-12 hours/use per week. My local jeweler replaced the battery within a day or 2, even though it takes an odd sized battery. Over all it's a great product that is priced well.

I have had this HRM for nearly three years now and it has yet to fail me. It is simple to use and the price makes it is very affordable for someone who is just starting out and doesn't need a higher priced unit with all the bells and whistles they may never use. For the average user this is a great HRM.

Go for the Timex heart monitor instead! rated this product

I went through three of these heart monitors before switching to the Timex Ironman heart monitor. Polar's monitors are great until the battery dies after about 9-12 months and you have to buy another heart monitor!

I had this watch for almost two years and in all honesty I really liked it, not to many features to be confusing and very easy to use. When the battery finally died I discovered its fatal flaw. This model uses a size of wath battery that no one and I mean no one carries. Every other model uses a more standard battery size, and in the end I just ended up getting the F11 out of frustration.

This watch is easy to use but it has no back light. If you work out after dark do not get this watch.
