I've tried all of the gels and energy products -- I love Clif Shots. The company strives for organic and healthy products, and this stuff is just flat out delicious. I take one ever 3 miles for a boost of energy and a water top-up, and I'm good to go.

I use the gels before 5k races, and I have used them in the past before Triathlons. I think they taste good and are easy, but you must drink some water with them. I think they could use a bit more caffeine, but they work well,and don't have alot of extra junk in the ingredients!

I love the new Ciff Gel Citrus flavor! They have redone their gel completely. It is not as thick as it was before and much easier on your stomach. The new citrus flavor is great. Love it!

I've probably had a few hundred of these gels by now! I really enjoy the sweet, choclatety taste and the instantaneous boost I get. I kind of look at them as a cup of coffee in my pocket and take little sips from time to time. They're great for any vigorous exercise, like running, hiking, or biking and also just to stay alert, like on long, pre-dawn drives to races.

When I started training for longer distances, I needed a gel that would not upset my stomach. I have bad acid reflux and there is nothing worse than running with acid coming up. I tried lots of brands. When I was preparing for my Boston Qualifying Marathon, the course had the Cliff Brand gels as their offering on the course. I live on Cliff Bars but didn't know they had gels. I ordered them and was so happy with them. The chocolate has the consistency of thick yummy frosting. It goes down easy and doesn't come back up. I do used water to dilute it and that is generally recommended. I have never had stomach upset with this brand and will continue to use it even when it is not offered on course.

Started using this product diluted slightly from a flask. Backed off on calories per hour. This stuff works great and doesn't lock my GI up on long training and races.

These things are great. Do some research. There is really no difference in the ingredients in most gels. These are cost effective and easy to shoot during a hard effort. Good boost if you hit one 20 minutes before the ride/run/swim instead of breakfast!

I have a busy schedule. If I don't have time to get my last meal before a workout, these give me some carbs and an energy boost. also like them on a long ride or in transition during a triathlon.

I used some of the other flavors.. got the strawberry and didn't think I would like it. First time I tried it, I had a great run. The next 3 times I used it were PR runs. Laugh if you must, but it's my go to flavor now for a a big race!! :)

I used Clif gels while training for the Portland Marathon as well as during the marathon, and am still using them when training for various half-marathons, and on any long runs. They go down easily, taste great, and I've never had a problem with digestion. I especially appreciate their organic ingredients. I generally use a caffeinated one at the beginning of a run, and if it's a run lasting 2 hours or more, I'll do one more caffeinated gel for the final 3 miles. The Chocolate Cherry is my ace in the hole! :)

Love the mocha, have been using it for years. Trained for my first marathon without any gels years ago and learned the hard way around race mile 20 that your body needs nutrition! Duh ;) I take a shot about 15 minutes before my runs and then every 50-60 minutes into my runs/races. The new formula (a couple of years old now) is thinner and easier to get down. Must take with water. My training and races are SO much better now than that first marathon with these gel shots.

Love the double espresso flavor. I don't like to drink coffee before a morning run, but this fills the need for it! This is great for before runs and during. It is a thicker consistency, but I like that so it doesn't all squish out while I'm running. No GI problems and it is great energy. I also like the "litter leash" thing so I don't have to fumble with a tiny ripped off top and make sure I don't accidentally throw it on the ground (if I'm not racing).

Love the taste and the consistency is thinner than other gels I've tried. The trash guard also makes clean up a lot easier and you can slide these gels to hang into a waistband if you need to.

Take before my bicycle ride and approximately every hour during the ride. I definitely feel the difference in energy level and endurance. Taste is rather pleasant; consistency of pudding. Goes down easy.

discovered a cool use for the litter leash it has... I have a belt that will let me string 3 or 4 of them on it and tuck them up against my back. I just reach back and pull one off when I need it during the run. Cool thing is they don't take space on my belt and when it is cold out it warms the gel to make it thinner.

I have used this product for my long runs.. it tastes like strawberry jelly and mixing with water is great! easy on my stomach and feel the kick in a few mins..I never tried many and this one is a keeper

Clif shots taste great and are easy on the stomach. A couple years ago I switched to GU because the Clif Shots were just too thick and difficult to squeeze out, but they've changed the consistency since then. Now I use them exclusively. They don't upset my stomach at all and the flavors aren't easy to get sick of. I have used the chocolate, razz, mocha, vanilla and double espresso flavors. They're all good. No problems here except when I run out :D

I recently tried these chocolate/cherry TURBO gels during a marathon, and the caffeine boost was amazing! I normally use GU gels (primarily for training/competing in ultras and 26.2s), but have found that these CLIFs come in very handy when energy starts to dip after 3-4 hours on the road/trail. Good stuff!!

It has been a number of years since Clif changed their formula, but it was definitely for the BETTER! The old, chalky taste is gone, at least in my favorite flavors: Razz, Strawberry, and Dbl Espresso. Taste, litter leash, and value have made this my new "go to" gel for runs over 45 minutes.
As others have said, be sure to take these with water. If you're in a race, spot that next water stop before you down one of these babies or you might be sorry. (I speak from experience -- it was a LONG 5 mile slog to the next water stop.)

Good packaging. Appreciate that the even after opening the package stays together as one piece. Tear-off tabs are easy to drop.

I use these for my long runs. I like the taste, but they're pretty sweet. Wish I had noticed the chocolate cherry has caffeine. I don't drink coffee and taking this on my morning run is enough to keep me up. I'll save em for race day.

I like the little touches--litter-preventing opening strap; environmentally-friendly ingredients. I like most of the flavors, but find vanilla disgusting-kind of like raw, yeasty bread dough. Other than that one, flavors are great.
