Indespensible for long or hot runs

I bought this belt because I previously had the Nathan belt with the bottle that bounced in the back constantly - I hated it. In buying this one, I was looking for something that didn't weigh me down or bounce constantly and fit comfortably. I'm currently in Afghanistan, where temps can reach 100 degrees before 8 a.m. and I've found water a necessity, even on short 4 mile runs. I've used it almost everyday since I got here and have not a single complaint. During my 9 miler I drank all the water, so I'm glad I got the 4 bottles instead of the two. And I love that I don't have to hold a bottle in my hands, but that I can just run. Fit is good -- I'm a female, size 6/8 depending on brand, and the medium fits me perfectly. Order accordingly. The little pocket holder on the side is perfect for gu and keys. I have not a single complaint.

About as good as it gets for a fuel belt

4

I own both a single bottle belt and the Amphipod belt, both of which I have used in many training runs as well as street and trail marathons. I went with the multi-bottle belt because of the ability to have different energy drinks/supplements in different bottles, which works really well. While the Amphipod belt fit well, I would occassionally have a bottle fall to the ground after I thought/felt I had adequately clipped it in. This had occurred during training runs as well as marathons. Rather annoying I must say. I therefore just bought and used the Helium belt in a trail marathon with the expectation that I wouldn't be dropping any more bottles since they fit in the elastic holster as opposed to the clip. Overall it worked very well. In fact I switched 2 of the white Helium bottles with 2 of the yellow Amphipod bottles to make it easier to distinguish between what was in what bottle. All stayed in fine. The big difference I found was that it generally takes two hands to put the bottle back in the holder with Helium belt, versus only needing one hand for the Amphipod. While a minor inconvience, it beats dropping a bottle! I will also add that I have a 31 inch waist and so I bought the medium size, which was just barely big enough. If anyone decides to buy the Helium belt and has a 32 inch waist, I would consider moving up to the next larger belt size. One problem that does persist with all my water holders is they tend to move around and sometimes the bottles will bounce depending on how full they are, where they are located versus how full they are, and how high or low on my waist I'm trying to carry it. Seems like I'm making continuous minor belt adjustments through most long trainning runs and marathons, but that may just be me, and is usually the least of my discomforts! Otherwise, of all the belts I've tried, the Helium fuel belt is my favorite.

Comfort and Ease of Use

4

Currently I run 4 miles daily and a long run on the weekend. The Helium 4 running belt helps on those long runs with hydration and storage of my engergy gu. The large velcro strap secures easily around the waist as to not put any more pressure on your body. It's light weight and I often forget it's on. There is no struggle with pulling the bottles out of the straps or putting them back in due to their shape and size. The only downfall is that the pouch to store goodies in the back is too small and awkward to open while running.

Great for hot days

I had Nathan speed belt 4 but I lost it so I ordered the fuel belt. Very comfortable and fits well. I ordered a med and I'm 5'2", 130. Doesn't move around a lot but I wear it higher on the waist. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is only 1 pocket and it doesn't hold much. I live in the mountains and I ran alone a lot so I like to carry my phone with me and my phone won't fit. With the Nathan running belt, there was 2 pockets and a phone would fit.

Very efficient Pack

4

So far so good, ran 11 miles with this thing. Comfortable, balanced, light weight, could see myself using this in a race. A couple suggestions though to make it better: 1) Need a larger version that holds more fluids. In the hot and humid south, you would be lucky to get 4-5 miles out of this pack (without refilling or carrying additional gear). Also, a slightly larger pouch to accomodate a cell phone would be a nice addition.

Skeptical at first - not anymore

5

I was skeptical about using a hydration belt. I was concerned about it bumping as I run or feeling too heavy and affecting my pace. I was unbelievably surprised at the nice tight fit of the belt and how well it worked. The only downsides of the belt are - the sizing runs small, so order up to the next size if you're on the edge and the bottles require 2 hands to put back in.

Can't get much better than this

5

Switched to this from the Amphipod one bottle pack after getting tired of it bouncing around on my lower back. This does not bounce at all even with all four bottles full. I barely know it's there. My only recommendation would be to make the bottle openings larger in order to get ice into the bottles.

Runs small

4

Just got this in the mail today. I measure 30 and one half inches around my waist which puts me solidly in the medium range. The belt is too small. The velcro only overlaps about one inch when I have it on at my waist. If I want to wear it a little lower on my hips it won't fit at all. Definitely order a bigger size than your measurement. It seems like a good product, I returned the one I got and ordered a size larger today.

Love this belt!

4

I use this all the time for long runs, and forget that I have it on. The belt does not bounce, and since it's adjustable you can loosen or tighten it mid-run without having to stop. I bought an extra pouch from Fuel Belt so I could carry more gels while running. Somehow it never feels heavy even when you have all 4 bottles full. It's great!

Great water bottle holder

5

The Fuel Belt is great for my long runs. It holds 32 oz and I can squeeze 3 gu's in the pouch. It doesn't bounce like my old 1-bottle belt did. I hardly notice that it's there. The adjustable velcro makes it a perfect fit every time so far. I have had it for about 6 weeks now.

Fuel belt rocks

4

I really like the fuel belt. It is way better than running with one big water bottle on a belt. It is lightweight, compact and efficient. I was also able to hold two gels in the zipper pouch. The only con is that it is hard to fit ice cubes into the little bottles.

Great for long runs

5

Its a good belt, just be sure to get the right size. They will bounce a little when running, but it shouldn't be much of a problem and you get used to it pretty fast.

good but not my favorite

It is a good belt, it runs small, the bottle holder is elastic which hold bottle but it is harder to get the bottle in than a belt with a stiff holder.

Wonderful Water Holder!

The Fuel Belt is wonderful to run with. I can barely feel it on my with all 4 waters filled up. Perfect for any runner that needs to bring water with them.

I used this for my first marathon and loved it. It stayed where it was supposed to, no bouncing and I barely noticed it. Definitly well worth it.

Just wish the bottles were bigger ...

Fits great. There are two things that I would change ... add 2 to 4 oz to each bottle, and make the carry compartment just a little bigger as well so that it would hold a couple more gel packs.

5

Love this belt! I like to wear belts around my hips, not waist, and this belt didn't move at all on a 7-miler. I tried on the other 4-bottle belt that has 10oz water bottles as I sweat a LOT, but my armswing kept banging into them, so I settled for the 8oz bottles of this belt. I don't notice the belt or the bottles at all during my run. also pocket held my keys and a gu...would have been nice to have a secondary pocket on the other side for additional gu but it is a very trivial negative. Note that I wore it with the velcro in the front, not sure if it behaves the same with the velcro in the back. Definitely recommend it!

The product will perform as advertised. I have only one minor complaint. On occasion one of the bottles will leak. I would however recommend this product to a friend.

Great to have the four bottles on a long hot run. Have used for long training runs 12+ miles and it has stayed in place and not moved at all. A must have!

Just know that the bottles are NOT 8+ oz bottles. The markings on the side would lead you to believe that you can get more than 8 oz in each bottle. The bottle will not hold 7 full ounces even when tilted back and filled to the very brim. It just means that you will be carrying between 26 and 28 ounces rather than 32 to 34 ounces. (and less than 26 if you plan on freezing the bottles the night before) The belt is great although so far I have only used it for hiking and not for running. It did ride up on me a bit during a brief trail run, but seemed to stay in place after it got above my hips.

Nice lightweight, adjustable belt. Where the front bottle rub against my shorts, it has started to wear a hole thru my shorts.

Great product!

4

This is a great buy. The four bottles are evenly spaced to there you aren't weighed down on one side. I have another belt by Nathan that has two 20 oz. bottles. It's bulky and bounces a lot. I still use it for 15+ milers, but the Fuelbelt is great for shorter runs, especially in hot weather. Freeze two of them so you'll have cold fluid throughout your entire run....

I purchased this while training for my first marathon. It is easy to use and I like it, however my only concern is the pouch is rather small. I'd like to have either a larger pouch or an additional pouch for gel, etc.
