Absolutely fabulous. Perfect size GPS watch. Not huge or obtrusive. Works quite easy and simply. Interface with computer (Mac) again too easy. Uploading and reviewing on Garmin Connect again way too easy. Could not ask for anything better. Oh yeah, the price was excellent too!

Garmin Forerunner 110 Monitor
I use my Garmin all the time when I run. I LOVE working out and been training for 5k's, 1/2 marathons, and full marathons.
It is very simple. Simple enough you don't need instructions, for me at least.
Men or woman's watch and does what I want it to do.
Counts calories, pace, heart rate and time.
All the things I need, it works!
Love my Garmin and LOVE ROADRUNNERS!

Great GPS watch
This NEW Garmin model is wonderful. I'm a 5'3" women and the watch band is not too bulky. This is why I got it(gift persuasion). Previous models were a little too bulky. The signals are always strong, start fairly quickly and VERY accurate. I have a GPS application on my iPhone and it can't compete with these accurate results, especialy when I run in places with many turns, through new roads or the end of cul-de-sacs, etc. I timed a neighborhood run which was exactly 4.7 miles as the GPS watch showed. My iPhone app had about 4.4 or 4.5 miles. Sorry, but if you're in training and doing 800s, you can't be off by seconds or 10ths of a mile. Also, you can't beat seeing your current pace at any time with just a glance; always shows on watch. The only bad thing about the watch may be the amount of time before recharging could be longer. You can download Garmin app directly to your PC, so you don't need Internet connection. When you download data to this app, there's more than enough information to spoil you; elevation, time, distance; AVP pace. You can also view data directly on the Internet with an account. This will show Google maps; even more extensive information. This watch is certainly more expensive than iPhone apps, but you get what you pay for.
Simple Watch, Works Great
The Garmin 110 is an entry-level watch that eschews the full feature set of the higher Garmin models for simplicity. It only displays the important data: total distance, total time, HR, and average pace for the current lap (or whole run if no laps are used). At the end of each manually entered or auto lap, it displays the time for the lap and the average pace for the lap for a few seconds. It's easy to use, the battery lasts longer than I can run, and it's only slightly bigger than my old Polar RS100. The Garmin Connect website is also easy to use, and the run playback feature is excellent.
The only thing I wish they would add is the ability to display the average pace for the whole run. That would be helpful for half and full marathons.
Great GPS Watch and easy on the wallet!
I just got this watch. After spending years driving my routes and figuring out how far my runs were (mailbox to mailbox) I now am free to just run and let the watch keep track of it. It's great. The watch is the same size as my Timex Ironman 30 lap. It displays how far I have run, the length of time and my current pace/mile. At each mile it beeps and displays the pace. It picks up the satellites within a minute. It's the perfect gift for a runner. Not large and bulky and doesn't look like a ring box on your wrist. If your a runner, you need one of these. No more driving the routes, just runnin'
This is a great product, particularly for the price. It's extremely accurate, is the perfect size (lightweight and unobtrusive, not at all bulky), and provides me with just the amount of information I need and want - no more, no less.
I haven't had the issue that the 7/31 review mentioned . . . you just need to press the lap/reset button to store your run and you're ready to go again. There's no need to upload the data before using it again. The data and graphics that it provides you via the internet-based upload process (connect.garmin.com) is really amazing.
If you're looking for a reasonably priced and accurate GPS product without all the bells and whistles, this is the one.

Great Product; some strange presets tho.
Excellent product, but beware of the presets. I took this out for a run and was frustrated to see it taking splits every mile - I was hoping that it would calculate an overall pace, as several other reviewers were commenting. Upon returning home it occurred to me that the automatic split function was set to one mile. If you go the menu and select this category, you can turn splits off by pressing the down arrow until you get to "off." Now that it's fixed I have nothing but good things to say about this watch. I'm a female with small wrists and this watch is comfortable, not too heavy, and most importantly not too big. It's the same size as a standard men's watch.
Rarely have I purchased a device that so precisely does exactly what its claimed to do. I had previously owned a forerunner 205 and in comparison, this is so much simpler to use, more accurate(uses same gps tecnology but able to acquire and maintain signal much better), and far smaller and downright stylish so I can use it as a regular watch. Only minor quibble is that its somewhat difficult to turn it off, so battery is in constant use and requires somewhat frequent re-charging. I suppose that's in keeping with its intended purpose to be used as a wristwatch as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this.
Perfect for Tempo Runs
I got this to use for marathon tempo runs and it is exactly what I hoped for. 1 min or so to find satellites, then away you go. I use mine for 15-22 mile marathon tempos and it is so nice not to have to worry about measuring courses ahead of time. The pace feature tells you what pace you are on for that mile, then a little beep goes off at every mile/km (depending on how you set the GPS up) to tell you your mile splits. I'm going to pace my sister in law to a sub 2:30 at Rotterdam marathon this spring and will use it there, since there are only 5m markers. One small gripe is that the split function does not tell you time/distance, it just tells you when you've gone another mile.
Does everything I need and nothing I don't. My last GPS was a Timex with a GPS arm strap (about 3 years old). It was accurate in the open air but useless under any sort of tree canopy. My second run with the 110 was a single track trail run through heavy tree cover and it didn't cut out once. Its as light as a standard Timex Ironman and very easy to use and control. It basically sets itself. It held the first charge for a week, including 5 runs ranging from 2 hours to 30 minutes in duration (so maybe 6+ hours of running with the GPS enabled).
If you're thinking about it, just buy it!

Easy and accurate.
Love this watch. Very easy to use. In two pushes of the button, I'm running. Software that came with it is also easy to use and figure out. You can also use Sportstrack if you want more data to play with, but the software it comes with is pretty sweet. Love that it lists your split for running time, so you don't have to stop the watch when the dog stops to do his business. It is later factored out in an adjacent column to actual pace.
Feel naked without it
I have fallen in love with this thing. I have to force myself to run without it once in a while so I don't become totally dependent. It is really invaluable for learning how to pace yourself, doing tempo runs or intervals, or just seeing where you went (it is nice to be able to run for X miles and then turn around without having a set route in mind). Easy to use, and extremely cool to see the second-by-second breakdown of your speed over the course you ran.
Money Well Spent
Just what I was looking for. You won't find a better watch for the money. I run on trails with fairly dense forest canopy cover and I've never lost signal once with this watch and I've had this watch for about 5 months now. It will also lock onto the satelites faster if your not moving around and hold the watch still. It connects to the satelites anywhere from 10 to 45 seconds.
This GPS goes the distance
With 2 elite high school harriers, one college runner and active parents overseeing everything, this GPS has found the perfect home. We purchased this affordable device knowing that it was our first GPS and it hasn't disappointed any of us. There are 2 males and 3 females using it, so the unisex design has worked well for all and the Garmin Connect software has been fun to play with.
Great GPS watch for simplicity
My wife and I share time with this watch whenever we're going to run outdoors. We upgraded to this from Forerunner 50's for increased accuracy over long distances. Our only dislike is that the pace readout tends to lag a little from the actual pace your running, but eventually catches up. Not a deal breaker, just a nuisance sometimes.
Exactly What You Need
I use this for running at the moment. It is so easy to use. I use the model without the HRM. I feel that the chest straps are uncomfortable and typically I do not get an accurate reading. I wear the mens model and it is a great size on my small wrist. This model is compatible with Mac which is great. This watch has everything you need and nothing, unless you are a techie, that you don't.

Just what I wanted!
Been running with the usuual sports watch, time & laps, but how far? What's my pace? Where have I been? NOW I KNOW! I fired this rascal up with a charge, located the satilites and hit the road. Keeps a big pile of history in the unit itself, but when you upload to Garmin's website, yeah baby I got the info I was looking for. Pace/mile lap automaticaaly, elevation, route... yahoo BBQ! I'm glad I can strap this techno wizard to my wrist. AND I can understand it

Garmin Forerunner 110
My one and only complaint would be that... The pace on the watch takes about one mile before it is accurate. At the beginning of my runs (during the first mile) it will say im running a 8-9 minute pace or so and when that first mile clicks off I actually ran a 7:30-7:45 pace. After that first mile though... No problems. Best piece of equipment I own except for my shoes.
The monitor I have been waiting for!
I hadn't bought any of the previous models of Garmin monitors because they seemed way too big & cumbersome, so I was very excited when I saw this new model, & it does not disappoint. Very easy to use, even if you're not a gadget-type person. Gives you distance, pace, calories burned, overall time--& without it feeling as though I'm running with a laptop-sized gadget around my wrist.

Beware of the trees!
This baseline GPS works well until you get off road and into tree cover, which is where I spend a great deal of time on my long runs. My guess is that it loses the GPS signal and then "triangulates" once it re-acquires, but on a winding trail, that shows lost distance...and I know the distance from when I used a plain old speedometer on a bike. SO, great for "open sky" running, but beware of tree coverage.
I love this gadget!
I just got back into running and needed a simple GPS-enabled watch to track my progress. I'd notice other runners wearing huge bulky monitors and didn't want anything similar. The forerunner 110 is the perfect size and it's easy to use. It gives accurate readings, which I'm able to transfer online easily. I've had no problems so far. Awesome product!

Worth the money
I had used the nike+ for about 5 years so I wanted to step up to a GPS watch. After talking to people in my marathon running class I decided on the garmin 110. I've used it about 5 times and I love the accurate reading, I'm getting used to the functions (a little confusing), and I really don't like the connection device to the computer (a loose clip that slips in and out of connection with the computer). Even so, I enjoy using the watch and I was absolutely giddy when I first saw the mapping feature online.
Garmin 110 is a great product
I had the 405 and I like the fact that the 110 doesn't have the touch Bezel.
NOTE: My OLD (ANT) heart rate monitor works with this watch so you may not need the $249 Garmin 110.
This is an excellent watch and easy to use. I also like downloading my runs and it's easy to do. Perfect for those of us who like simple technology.
This is my 2nd Garmin Forerunner. The first was the most expensive one, but I lost it. I found that I did not use all the options on the Garmin 305 so tried this one. It works great, feels very light and does just what I need it to. I'd recommend to anyone needing to track their distance, time and pace. I love it!

Great GPS Watch
The display is perfect for the fitness type user. Its real value is in the upload to the Garmin site. The performance graphs, statistics and tracing of your route on Google maps are excellent. Like all GPS devices everyone wants instant connection to the satellites but you have to wait about 1-2 mins with this watch. Works well in the woods when I ride my bike.

Perfect Running Watch!
This watch is great. It's lightweight, and the strap is very comfortable. Easy to use, and the satellites sync a lot quicker than my old 305. I like how it can be used as a regular watch too. The running history is basic though. It shows your total time, distance, pace, calories...but doesn't show your mile splits. I mean it does chirp your splits as you run, but doesn't save them in your history. Great watch!
Solid GPS Watch
I use the watch for running. I like the buttons better than the bevel, more certain you've connected. I like a gps watch better than lugging a full iPhone. The connector to the PC could be designed better, sometimes you have to play with the connector to get it to seed right. The battery life is pretty good too.
How did I live without this?
I've been wanting a GPS watch for quite some time, but didn't like the size of the older models. This watch is perfect! It's not too big, it's super easy to use, and I love the fact that I can just plug it in to charge it up. It usually picks up the satellite quickly so I'm not standing around waiting to get started on my run.
Garmine Forerunner 110 is awesome
Awesome watch, accurate, easy to setup, quick download to garmin web site gives all the stats that I want instantly. Instance pace keeps me in a good pace for my long runs. The watch is reasonablly priced and slimed compare to the rest of Garmin GPS watches. It's a must have for serious runners!

This is my first garmin watch and I love it. I wanted a watch that would just tell me how far I have run and how long it took me. I did not need all the bells and whistles. It takes a little time to get use to the size but it extremely accurate and can locate the satellite within 60 seconds.
