    I have used Hammer Gel in the big bottle for economy sake in gel flasks during training. It does not pack the punch or have enough calories to give me what I need during a race though. I have to fuel every 20 minutes or so with this during long rides as opposed to every 40-45 with a GU or Powergel product. I am always on the verge of feeling "low" or bonking.

          good stuff but be aware that it has very low sodium/electrolytes. You may need to supplement additionally with caps or nuun. just makes it more complicated to race with if youre prone to cramping. otherwise good flavors/energy source

              The bigger jug of gel was a really good deal, and I'm glad I bought it. I also like that Hammer uses all natural sweeteners to make their gels so I'm not getting a crazy concoction of fake sugars. I did find it to be really, really sweet. But, it has done a good job of fueling my runs when I used it.

                I go for bulk with my gel holder vs. carrying multiple packets, it just works better for me.
