Comments about Womens Hoka One One Bondi 2 Running Shoe:

Finally a shoe that enables me to run pain-free in the forefoot. Would have given the shoe a 5 star rating if not for the fact that after only about 150 miles the upper began fraying and tearing off the midsole! After a phone call to Hoka customer service I am hoping their next edition will address this.

Comments about Womens Hoka One One Bondi 2 Running Shoe:

I had read a lot about the shoes and also highly recommended by family who uses them (and they live out west doing ultra-runs). No one in my circle had heard of them. I thought I would give them a try especially since I had recently gone up in size with my regular Asics shoe to nurse a neuroma. As soon as I put them on, I liked the way they felt right a way. The first thing I noticed is the very lightweight springy air-like feeling; almost like walking on cushioned springs. There was a good size toe box, which was helpful for my sore toes and I didn't feel any pressure points. Yes, they do look a little funky and clunky, but they are feel like the opposite. The first run I did I liked and felt like I wanted to keep going because they were so comfortable. What took getting used to is the slight rocker bottom, but if you are mid-foot striker then it's not a big difference. If you were a toe or heal striker, then you'd notice a difference. In subsequent runs, I noticed that a half size bigger was necessary. I had gotten a half size smaller only because other reviews commented that they felt big. Stick to your usual running shoe size and you will be fine. I ended up getting the bigger size later and was happy that I did. We'll see if they end up stretching out bigger. After trying them on a long run, I still liked the way my feet/legs felt less beaten up, however, I did get a blister on one different toe (than where I've gotten one before) and that caught me off guard. In general, I really like them and feel like they will be a great long run shoe to alternate with my other shoe.

Well wife is running in the shoes note womans shoe review. Normally I would not comment on the shoes I bought for her but Quick background she was hit while cycling and still 8 months later hurts . A friend wears these and claimed how when he wears them he feels better post run. We both believe big time on shoe rotation and that is why I decided to post the tell tell point was after running 2-3 times in these she switched back to another cushion shoe I could see alittle pain on her face so I ask if she was ok . She said well I dont want to just wear Hokas all the time and wear them out but just even walking around I feel better in them they are so soft . Point is they are what she needs that gets 5 stars from me !

Comments about Womens Hoka One One Bondi 2 Running Shoe:

I purchased these for a 10k. I first ordered 1/2 size larger than my normal size but they were huge. I received the replacement shoes the day before I flew to the race location, so I did not get a chance to train in them. I was interested in Hoka's because I train primarily on the treadmill so I knew I needed extra cushioning to run comfortably on the road.

I wore these for my 10k basically straight out of the box and LOVED them. That said, I have mixed feelings about them. I have run 80 miles on this pair, and they seem to have become wider. They were slightly wide for me out of the box, but they have become even wider. Perhaps I have lost some weight in my feet or perhaps the shoes have stretched. I don't know which, maybe both, but my last few runs they have been so loose they make the bottom of my feet burn. I did take better care to pull the laces snug from the bottom up the last time I wore them, but I still experienced some burning, slightly less, but still there.

I typically wear a 7.5 in a street shoe, and in the past have ordered 8's in running shoes. I run 60 to 100 miles per month and feel the last four pair were too big a 1/2 size larger, so I have stopped ordering them big. I could have ordered the Hoka's a half size smaller yet.

I do not mind shoes that are generous in the toe box, but these feel wide from the heel-side of your arch (rear) down to your toes. Hoka makes unisex and sexed shoes, and I feel they are using the same lasts for all their shoes, because these are just too wide.

I love the cushioning aspect of their design, but will probably not purchase another pair unless they come out with true women's sizing.

Based on other reviews I have inspected my soles for wear and do not see anything premature. Out of the 80 miles, 40 of those have been on the road.

        Love/Hate relationship with this shoe

Comments about Womens Hoka One One Bondi 2 Running Shoe:

I have used this shoe for the majority of my marathon training and love it in some ways and hate it in others. It does make a world of difference in the impact that your knees/hips get while running, especially downhill. I tried to go to a different shoe after getting some nasty blisters from these and I was spoiled by the lessened impact from the Hokas and went back to them. I love them for those reasons, but now for the negatives. The shoes DO run a half size bigger than any other running shoe I've ever owned and they are VERY roomy in the toe box. Normally the extra room in the toe box isn't something to complain about, but I think it really leaves too much room for your toes to move in these shoes and is why they are the only shoe that has ever given me blisters on my big toes. I have average width feet. I have almost 300 miles on them and will wear them for my marathon next week and they will have to be retired after that since they are wearing thin on the bottom (mid-foot). I've never seen a shoe wear as much as these around 250 miles. Very torn whether to get them again or not.

Comments about Womens Hoka One One Bondi 2 Running Shoe:

I can't help but think that the 5-star reviewers hadn't worn their Hokas very long.
I was thrilled with this shoe--until I put some miles on it. The shoe showed serious wear in the upper and sole at 200 miles. At 314 miles, I was forced to retire the shoe. The sole had worn down into the midsole, with only about 1/8 in. of soft midsole rubber between my sock and the road. I was in a race and kept looking to see if my sock was showing through yet! Running was 100% on road. I don't scuff or drag my feet while running. I normally get 400-500 mi. from a shoe. This is by far the worst-wearing shoe I have ever seen. The cushioning was excellent--in the first few miles before it all wore away. There's just no excuse for making a shoe that wears out so quickly.

I've been eyeing these shoes for a while now. We recently went to an ultra event and saw a lot of runners wearing the trail Hokas. I finally decided to see what they were all about. RRS didn't have my size but I could try one one-half size smaller. RRS didn't know much about them but ordered my size and gave me rush shipping for no extra. I loved the fit and feel right out of the box. I ran about 5 miles before running a half marathon in them. It was like running on air! I really felt a difference: less impact, easier downhills, less fatigue over-all. They may be funny looking but the difference is very noticeable. I suggest you try them on in-store and hit the treadmill. I'm a believer.

Wore these right out of the box for an hour run on pavement...great cushioning, stability, and excellent forefoot cushioning as well.( I'm usually a neutral shoe.) With all the emphasis in the past year or so on minimalist running, I was surprised to see these. I have tried the minimalist route and found myself heel-striking. With the Hoka One Ones, that's all changed. Back to running the way I do best! Highly recommend!

Don't let the look of this shoe stop you from trying it. I ran 7 miles right out of the box and it was wonderful. The best way to describe it would probably be that you hardly feel like there's anything on your feet.
