Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: I've run in the Mafate series since their inception and have loved them. They started as a moderate weight, well-cushioned trail shoe that handled roads just fine and I wore them from everything from road races to Ironman. I received my Mafate 3s earlier this year and excitedly went out for my first run in them and immediately noticed drastic changes to the shoe. Suddenly the shoe felt clunky and heavy and not as well cushioned. The shoe felt narrower and I began having hotspots that were never issue in previous editions. After the run, I threw them on a scale and found the 3s to be at 15 oz; nearly a pound! This was about 2 ounces heavier than my Mafate 2s, which were heavier than my original Mafates.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: Read so many positive reviews by trail runners that I had to give Hoka a try. Let me state early that I usually run in minimalist shoes. I do not like heavy pronation control style shoes. This Hoka is a very pleasant surprise to a rocky mountain trial runner. Really feels great to bounce off the rocks on the trail. I can do 10 miles and not have the same tired feeling. Very soft cushion feel unlike any other shoe out there. A wonderful surprise that fits into my shoe rotation.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: first of all, they look like clown shoes, I got over that because of the cushioning. They are amazing for how they soak up bumps. My problem with them is the upper as way to padded and doesn't breath. My feet were getting the tingling feeling of circulation being cut off. I hoped a little break in would alleviate this but sadly it didn't. I'm going to exchange these for a pair of Stinson ATRs.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: These are a make over of the original Combo xt/StinsonB. The sole is a harder material and take longer to get used to. I wear a 9.5 normal shoe but wear 10.5 to 11.0 in any running shoe for a bigger toe box.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: I love this shoe. It is as they say like running on clouds. I really hope the new owners of Hoka make more of this shoe. It seems like they are making their new styles with less cushioning. You would think they would realize what has made Hoka One Ones popular. This shoe is a dream to run in. I feel really fortunate to have tried a pair of these. It is even making my knees and ankle sprain feel better. I love this shoe!!! Everything people have said positive about it are an understatement on how great it is!

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: A little slow to break in, a little stiff but feel that it may be the answer to my problems. It DOES push you into a mid foot stance, like minimal shoes, yet is very protective. It will proabaly be THE shoe for me for long runs.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: Just ran the Wasatch 100, the first 52 miles in Mafate 2, the last 48 in the new Mafate 3. The 3 is heavier, but does feel more sturdy and sure on the uneven surfaces. The height still takes some adjustment, and the tendency to roll on slanting terrain is a compromise, BUT after finishing my third century run this year, I could not do it without the cushion and stability of Hokas. They rock the downhill and don't limit the climbs, but require a learning curve to adjust to being so tall. The Mafate 3 tried side by side with the predecessor were amazing, we'll see how long they last before they need to be replaced. The Mafate 2 usually had critical failures with about 250-300 miles of hard use. Great shoe for me.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: Had to return the product. Even at one size larger the toe box pushes on top of the toes so they are very bad for downhill running on mountains which is what they are designed to do. I did not like the return policy which is only for credit and not a refund. This will be my last purchase until this policy changes.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One MAFATE 3 Trail Running Shoe: Super comfortable like running on pillows. Takes a few miles to get used too but once you do you'll notice the difference. Probably the most hideous shoe I've ever purchased but who cares when they perform so well out of the box. Two big thumbs up!!!!
