I need this product but it is designed for a narrow foot. I doubt it will fit the majority of American feet.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

These are my second pair of Hokas. Loved my Stinson Tarmacs. These seem to have a narrower toe box which has caused some blister issues for me. My biggest concern is the tread wear. I've got only 250 miles on these and the bottoms look like my Stinsons that have over 700 miles. I was expecting them to last at least 500 miles but will be replacing sooner.

Excellent But Needs A More Durable Tread

By Anchorboy Runner

from Charlotte, NC

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I have worn several Hoka models, including the Mufate, the Bondi, the Rapa Nui and the Conquest. I love each one of them...the cushioning allowed me to continue running with no knee pain! Each one of the Hoka models worked very well for me, but I've found I like the Conquest the best as it is the perfect fit for my foot. My only concern...the treads of ALL those models seem to wear out way too early! Granted, I am a heavy runner, 6'4 and 215 pounds. Still, the folks at the shoe stores where I've bought my Hokas all agree they don't feel the tread should wear out so quickly. I think Hokas would be the absolute perfect shoe if the company were to go to a different tread that's more durable.

AMAZING LONG RUN SHOE

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I am and have been a minimalist runner (huraches), and decided to give Hoka a try for ultra races. That was a fortuitous decision, since I would not have been able to complete a scheduled 50K a week ago without them. First, the reason behind the decision - frankly, the beating the joints take on a longer race on a 46 year old frame just is not as fun as it used to be (actually, it never was fun, so perhaps I should say the bragging rights are no longer worth the after-race pain). Also, due to mechanical problems (injuries sustained in service) in my left leg, I have to slow down considerably to lesson impact on the left leg going downhill. I wanted a shoe that allowed me to keep pace going downhill. Also, I was seeking a shoe radically different from my minimalist tools as injury avoidance, as well as a shoe for long runs (greater than 10-15 miles) so that I can easily bounce back within 24 hours for another long run. I found all of that in the Hoka Conquest. And more. The shoe allows for natural foot movement that seems to mirror that of my bare foot or feet in huraches; naturally the feel of the ground is seriously degraded, but the mechanics of my feet and legs seem very similar. The toe box is roomy. The 4mm drop is acceptable, and I did not honestly even notice the drop (I did, however, notice the 6mm drop in the Stinsons). Furthermore, the shoe is very well constructed, and I was able to take them right out of the box and start logging miles (first trial run was a cautious 5 miles), and nary a hot sport or discomfort. The Conquest is very efficient at absorbing shock. About a month out from my latest ultra, I developed an injury which I have miraculously avoided in over 30 years of running. This is about the time that I purchased the Conquest but had not tried them (in fact, I was reluctant to try the Conquest due to the budding injury). Eventually, though, I turned to the Conquest and found immediate relief and was able to maintain enough mileage to competitively complete a 50K, despite the injury. The Conquest performed superbly on the race, and despite their purpose as a road shoe, performed extremely well on a rainy race day trail run with plenty of mud. I have no idea what the "water evacuation midsole" is about, nor do I see it on the shoe, but golly - I can attest that on race day when the rest of my body was completely soaked in the rain, the shoes did not become water logged, and the feet were dry well before other water soaked parts. It also appears my pace improves by about 30 seconds a mile with no additional running effort, so the shoes are relatively "speedy" (that is, in ultra term of "speedy"). I have now put on just under 500 miles on these shoes in a month, and they are about as new looking as when I first purchased them, and the outsoles have amazing durability (but, as a minimalist runner, I tend to be easy on shoes and have two pairs of feet gear with 1000+ miles on them and still going strong). Mainly these shoes are used for when the body needs a break (injuries beginning to threaten), long runs of 15 miles or greater, and will be used for races. They are limited to about 20% of my weekly running mileage (other 80% in minimalist shoes), since I do note a very quick atrophy (weakening) of feet and lower leg muscles and tendons from all the cushioning. These shoes are amazing, and have managed to win over this minimalist runner.....

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

OMG! I just bought a pair of Conquest and don't want to take them off. As a long time Nike Vomero, Nike Air Max, Brooks, and Asics user I've gone through top of the line shoes from many brands but none come close to Hoka Conquest. I was so impressed with the feel I bought a pair for my wife.

I am not generally swayed by reviews because each person has a different perspective on what feels good to them and that includes cushioning. Words are insufficient to fully explain the level of cushioning provided by these sneaker, you must try them for yourself. I warn you come prepared to buy because you won't want to take them off.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I went to the running store to purchase the Altra Olympus after reading the great reviews on it. The clerk suggested I try the new Hoka Conquest as well. Fortunately there was a tread mill to put both shoes to the test. I tried the shoes at a slow jog and a 6-minute mile pace(I put my Sofsole orthotics in both). I even tried them together, the Olympus on one foot and the Conquest on the other. The Olympus has no lateral support whatsoever. In addition I was surprised to find the cushioning was "profoundly inferior" to the Conquest. I loved the large toe box of the Olympus and it is a very comfortable shoe but if you need any support, this is not the shoe to get. And again, the cushioning isn't close to the way the Hoka Conquest rides (but in all fairness, the cushioning of the Olympus smokes your typical running shoes). It's that obvious. I've been a serious runner for 30 years and was looking for an ultra cushioned, supportive shoe to let me run another 30. My Asics will only be used for bodybuilding in the gym now.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I have Haglund's deformity on one feet so my doctor recommended me to get better cushioned shoe. I am tall & heavy runner 6'5 210LBS so I started to hunt for a better cushioned shoe. After researching for few days I zeroed on Hoka Conquest. After 2-3 runs >10miles, my feet which was fine started to hurt & swell at the mid upper section. I switched to my previous shoe (Scotts) and it felt ok. There is something the way this shoe is constructed that it hurts the mid feet. My 2 cents, please be careful & do not hurt your foot for the cushioning.

Since changing over from Kayanos, I can run over seven miles everyday without having to take a day off between runs to recover from the pounding of running on concrete or asphalt. I can't belive how great they feel on my long runs and I do not need to worry about the next day. I am looking forward to my next marathon. I am now a believer in Hokas and will not go back!

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I'm still recovering from Achilles tendon repair followed quickly by knee replacement, and it's been difficult to find comfortable shoes to regain long-distance walking ability. After several failed attempts with other brands, Hoka came to my rescue. I'll never be a runner again, but now I have hope of returning to full mobility. At first I thought the shoe might be too snug, but with thin socks, it gives me the overall support I need with fantastic heel/ball cushioning to enable me to be on my feet all day. Despite the snug width, I appreciate the fuller toe bed, and the seemless construction also adds to the overall comfort. I was initially hesitant with the price, but I now consider these great value for the money.

I received a pair for my birthday. I took them out today for a 10 mile training run. I never felt any shock in my joint (knees, ankles, hips, etc.). Got caught in a downpour and the WDS did what it was designed for. Too bad my socks did not shed water like these shoes. However, with all of that, I still turned in my best 10 mile time in over a year. Speed laces work well, but take getting used to.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I ordered a pair of Conquests from a Hoka One One distributor, I have only run about 12 miles in them so far but I love the extra cushion of them over my normal Asics shoe. They are pretty light to me, others perceptions may be different. These would be my favorite shoe but one thing keeps me from saying that. Durability, the soles are already beginning to show significant wear. The small patches of rubber at the heel and the ball of the foot are not enough. The shoe needs a full rubber tread, or at least one that covers the majority of the hell and forefoot. I will probably be exchanging the Conquests for a pair of Mafate 3 or Stinson Tarmacs which have full rubber coverage.

I purchased my Stinsons the day before the Big Sur International Marathon. I'm familiar with rocker technology shoes because I own an old pair of MBTs but was impressed with the lightness of the Hokas. This type of shoe had been suggested to me by my orthopedic surgeon after having 4 surgeries on my left foot. I purchased the Hokas and walked the 10.6 mile portion of the Marathon. These are amazing shoes!! I had NO PAIN in my left foot! I'm sold on these shoes!

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I have been struggling with several different nagging injuries, and I have tried in vain to find a shoe that would work for me. I bought these at the expo the evening before the Crescent City Classic 10k (New Orleans) and wore them in the race. I felt great and ran my fastest 10k ever. Since then, I have put a lot of miles on them and I have felt great. I have finally found my running shoe. I won't wear anything else.

Recently I had two tier spinal fusion , Road Runner professionals along with Hokas I I was able to begin my recovery much sooner, being able to get out and walk again with out the shock you feel in most sneakers or shoes . I personally own Asics, Brooks, Muzuni , and Sauconys and nothing's even close to the Hokas.. Everything you could ask for in a trainer walker or running shoe.

On my feet all day. Need cushioning and support...this shoe has both. Not a big fan of the speed laces and wish the tongue had some padding.

I coach swimming and I stand on concrete pool deck for several hours daily. I started having problems with pain in my ankles and knees. I really love the comfort of the Hoka One one conquest, I would highly recommend this shoe.

I've had two pair of Bondi-3, and they were okay. I "upgraded" to the Clifton, and I am on my 2nd pair, and absolutely love them! First pair had 620 miles on them, but they were done. 2nd pair... amazing how much faster the new ones actually are with the same effort. Figured I'd try the conquest (last year's model), and on a 6-mile test run without breaking them in, they felt good! I need more runs in them to be sure, but they fit my stride/feet much better than the Bondi-4, which didn't seem to work for me.

Needed a show that could extend the life of my knees. These have the cushion that will allow me to keep running a few years more. They seem sized a tiny bit snug compared to my Nike, New Balance or Reeboks. They seem a little narrower but that may be because I bought the trail shoe. Thought I wouldn't like the lace less slider but got used to it quickly and overall Im very very happy with the feel and ride of the shoe. Took a run or two to get used to the sensation of the cushioning

Wish I could find a court shoe as comfy.

The high ride over the sole could be a tiny bit better disguised as my girlfriend teases me but my knees don't care.
