I need the extra cushioning for my bad knees. The Hokas are all great but the durability is the big question with them. Earlier pars fell apart - hopefully these will last better. Great comfort!

I pulled these straight out of the box and put 7 miles on them and later that week did back to back 10 miles runs with zero leg pain or soreness the next day! Amazing!! I am in my mid 40s and was looking for a shoe to take some of the shock off of my legs after running long distances. 55+ miles later in less than 3 weeks these shoes are God sent! I have to write Hoka and tell them. I am so delighted I bought these, the answer to my prayers!!

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

So many of my friends have spoken so highly of the comfort level of these shoes that I finally bought a pair. I run 2-3 marathons a year and was looking for added comfort for my long training runs. These shoes clearly exceed anything I've ever worn in terms of cushioning. If the price were lower I'd use them for shorter runs but at this price I'll use them simply to give my legs a break when my mileage reaches double digits.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I have become loyal to the Hoka brand since I first bought the Bondi B2's over a year ago. I run very high mileage year round and went through to pairs of B2's. I tried the Bondi B3's and the sole wore out too quickly (200 miles). I decided to try this shoe. I read a review out of several that mentioned the narrow cut. The toe box is much narrower then other Hokas. I have already run over 50 miles in these shoes and I experience a little tightness in the toe box. The weight is heavier than the B3's. I'd be more likely to look past the weight if they were as cushiony as the B3's. I hope Hoka improves the Bondi or makes improvements to the Conquest because I need a great high mileage shoe.

I am 68yo 5'10 and 168 pounds. I run 12-15 miles a week. My issue lately has been leg fatigue on off days and periarticular hip pain on longer runs. After hearing may comments road runner strongly recommended this she. Boy were they right! I now run in total comfort and have fresh legs on the off days. Thanks Road Runner and I'm completely sold. This is a very good concept.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I've been running since 1981, and have had a couple of what I called "Great Running Shoes" in those years (Tiger/Asics Ultra T's, Nike Internationalist and the first-generation Vomero come mind).

Without a doubt, the Conquest are my latest "Great Running Shoe".

It's a surprisingly, well-cushioned trainer, while lacking the humongous-look of older Hoke models that got everybody talking. I think Conquest will win some converts along-the-way.

After putting in some mileage in the last two-weeks, I can say that the Conquests can hold its own against the big-boys (well-known shoe companies) on the block. They look like the average heavily cushioned trainers, but that's where it ends. When you hold the Conquests(remarkably lite-weight); and put them on(a nice cushy/sink-in feel)for a good run, you'll probably want to switch them for your favorites.

Now, because of my age (47) and meniscus repair on my right knee (2006)I had a hard time finding a GREAT pair of running shoes. I had tried most makes (Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, etc.) and models (from cushioned to minimalist footwear), most were GOOD while some were not-so-good. One thing was certain, all of them left my legs (and right knee)feeling very sore or painful, after long runs. Another benefit is the midsole, supportive but not over done. In fact, it gave me an encouraging "umph" in my later parts of my runs.

I didn't have that problem with the Conquests. To put it simply, the shoe cushions well on impact. After running in the Conquests, my legs (and body) lack that hammered feeling, even my right knee isn't as sore while wearing these shoes. The outsoles have held up very well on the roads. I know it's only been two weeks, but usually some of my old trainers started showing signs or slight-wear on the out sole.

Only three minor draw-backs prevented me from giving the Conquests a five-star rating. The race-lace system is a bit tricky to get the right-fit. Too much and their they feel tight and narrow, too little, and your heel slips out.

I opted for the extra-laces that came with the shoe. Also, the Ortholite insoles created a hot spot on my arches when I first put them on for a run. However, on my next run, I slid the insoles slightly to the right, the problem went away.

Now, will the Conquests be your next Great Running Shoe? Well, let's just say, you be the judge, but don't be surprised if you end up with the pair in your shoe rotation! Also, I'll be glad to give you more feed back in two-and-a-half months!

I am a big guy 6' 4" 250 and I have tried every brand and style of running shoes. I developed Plantar Fasciitis while training for my last marathon. I switched to the Conquest for the high cushion and low drop. My PF is almost healed and this morning went out and ran a 20 mile training run in them for a marathon in two weeks. My legs and feet feel fresh and best of all no pain the my foot. They are a tad narrow but I removed the speed laces and the elastic straps and that made it a whole new level of comfort. I am going to try skipping the bottom two eyelets and one review suggested and see how that helps. Can't wait for July 4th to order the new Clifton's.

These are probably a great shoe but you apparently need a super narrow foot - that I do not have. With the ultra low drop it seems your forefoot would splay some naturally but there is just no room at all in the forefoot. The cushioning felt too notch to stand in but I wasn't able to walk or run much with these being so tight. The speed lace feel and design was nice but they aren't laced for a heel lock with the top eyelet. If you want to heel lock to prevent any slippage you have to cut the laces - and they are designed as a one piece lace which doesn't really go back together. If Hoka made a 2E or 4E I might try them again - but they don't. Unless you weigh next to nothing and float on your feet these aren't going to feel too good - if you do though you probably don't need all this cushion!

I was eager to try the Hoka One One Conquest, I have read dozens of reviews about how they helped people run longer or run period. I have bad knees and I have really quit running much at all due to pain. The Hoka's have helped that. I am running more now and longer. My one gripe with the conquests is durability. The sole only has two smaller areas with rubber, I am wearing the other areas quite quickly. With only a couple of weeks of wear the tread on the outside edge is wearing off. I think I am going to exchange these for a pair of Mafate 3s that have more rubber protection on the bottom. If it werent for the durability I would whole heartedly reccomend these, As they stand, they are excellent shoes but will not last my normal 6 months at this rate, and for @ $170 thats a lot.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

                              Me=mid 50's male, 150 lbs, have completed 30+ marathons-some sub 3 & 10 ultras, 50 mpw ave. No injuries for 5 years.

Tried a pair of conquests at running store and was impressed with feel, so ordered a pair specifically for summer increase in mileage.

Out of box immediately bothered by significant rub on abductor hallucis. Stop on the spot kinda pain.

The spot just below the top eyelet has a design flaw as too much fabric is gathered and excessive threading creates a protruding node that gauges the foot. This is related to the tongue issue others have shared.

Thus far I have done a couple of high teen runs in them and have experimented with protective tape and varied lace tension-but wonder why such an expensive shoe requires any modifications.

Noticeable tread wear after only 50 miles, shocking really.

I'm going to give them a couple more chances, but am suspicious.

Cushioning is excellent, and my legs feel fine the next day after 17 miler. Could be because I use a lighterweight shoe for hill work, tempos etc.

I am 6 foot and 195 pounds, 48 years old. Hoka saved my running. Love the Conquest. Not as plush as the Bondi B2 but much more durable. I have had 3 pair of B2's and wore a hole on the inside of the upper forefoot however I still loved the B2 ride. Ran a marathon in B2s with duct tape inside on the hole. The Conquest is much more durable and much better looking and a very good ride, just not as soft, but much more stable and still plenty of cushioning. I had been running since college, triathlons and marathons. I had a hip problem which turned out to be a back problem. I was contemplating surgery after two epidural steroid injections in my lower back. I was wanting to start back running after a 4 month layoff and bought the B2s which allowed me to train and run another marathon in less than 6 months. Once you run in Hokas nothing else will feel as good.

Getting ready to order my 3rd pair of Bondis. My only complaint is that they are a 250 mile shoe and at 50 miles week they breakdown fast. Bottoms of soles wear quickly and have holes/ tears in the uppers. I normally wouldn't tolerate that type of quality for the price but they are first shoe that I have worn in an long time that I have been injury and pain free! You do not need a half size bigger like the web says! They are a touch snug but not a 1/2 size. Love these shoes and I am a seriously runner - 5'10 and 155 lbs

I've run 3 1/2's and a Tough Mudder over the past 12 months just for some reference. The PF showed up during the last 1/2 marathon :(

I'm currently training for my first full marathon, BMO Vancouver May 4, 2014

I do use a slightly modified super feet insert in my shoes, perfect for my over pronation.

So wanting to keep running I thought I'd try the Hoka's.

I've got 8 runs for a total of 113km (70miles) in the conquests now. I find them to be perfect for me. Very stable shoe, not squishy and no rolling as some would expect out of a high(er) shoe with more cushion. The cushioning is perfect too for running roads. I feel that I've just now after 113km gotten use to the shoes and my last run (19.3k) I had a hard time holding myself back right around the 16k mark. I felt like I could fly. That moment when everything is working right, that was it for me.

For me, the Hoka's have allowed me to keep running after trying several other shoes.

I've read a ton of reviews on the Hoka shoes and it honestly seems to me that those who are sceptical of them or think they are not stable probably have not tried them. These shoes are just as stable as the Asic Kayano's I ran in and more stable than the Saucony Triumphs I was using prior to the Hokas.

I find them very comfortable, just the right amount of cushion for me, and a very solid, stable shoe. I found the fit to be perfect to my 9-1/2 foot. Toe box is just right for me. Didn't like the speed laces but that's a minor detail.

I will say that the inserts (like most supplied with running shoes) offer very little arch support so if you're having issues with over pronation, try some better inserts (I like super feet).

I like the soft ride for my 195 lb frame. I like the low heel to toe drop as that is what I'm used to now. I think they will be great for marathon training. I hope the toe box breaks in some and widens out. They feel a little narrow and I consider my feet to be average with "D" size.

I will walk 2000 miles this year and am confident that I will do it in comfort. Although I think they look clunky, I have had 2 positive comments in the last 2 days and don't know that I have had any with other shoes.

I am moving from the Newtons to these amazingly comfortable shoes. I weigh about 195 and usually take a pounding when I run. These are hands down the most comfortable shoes I have EVER worn. I only have 5 runs on them but I am hooked. I usually experience hip and low back pain after running but not with these bad boys. They are really light considering how bulky they appear. Im a fan.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

Tried Hoka Bondi2s and loved them on long runs. Keeps my knees happy, and the Conquest are very similar so I ordered them. The tops of the shoe where the tongue connects to the shoe rubbed my foot and gave me a blister since there was no padding on the tongue. Tried adjusting speed laces and no luck. Had to send them back and get Bondi3. Love the Hokas, but my somewhat skinny upper foot didn't work with that tongue design.

Thankful for the RRS return policy since I didn't notice this until I ran more that a couple miles.

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

I've put over a hundred miles on my Conquests so feel I can now write a balanced review.
Purchased my first pair half a size bigger as suggested online, but they feel half a size too big! LOL
Ran over a hundred miles in the first pair while waiting for my regular size to ship to me (8.5) The shoes feel big and bulky, there's no getting away from the fact that they are. They feel heavier than their 10oz weight. Cushioning is great as you would expect, however when I put on my new pair compared to my first pair with just over 100 miles on them, the difference in cushioning was startling! The older pair feeling much less cushioned than the new pair. This gives me the heads up that these shoes will not last more than 250-300 miles for me and I'm no heavyweight (5'10-175lbs)
I have a high arch and wide feet and these shoes feel slightly tight fitting, not overly uncomfortable but I would've like the option for a wider fitting.
Definitely not as 'awkward looking' as I thought they would be when wearing them.
Interestingly I have had a mild case of shin splints while wearing the Conquests and have just taken a couple of weeks off. If the shin splints return, the Conquests may have to go back.
Anyone else had a similar problem with these shoes?
Difficult to say if I would recommend or not, I guess it's a try it and buy it scenario.

First off, I am a 5'5" 145 lbs triathlete. So not exactly heavy but i do have 2 ligament damage on my knees so I needed something to cushion the impact when running. My go to pair before Hokas are the Brooks Ghost 5, love it and still use but for longer distances 8+ miles I use Hoka Bondi 2. It worked for me, no more knee pain and feel less sore overall after long runs.

However, I do feel that the Bondi 2 was too squirmy and unstable for me. And due to my wide 2E feet I reaped open the inner side. The mesh material was not strong enough, it did stretch wide for my feet but reaped open. The sole too did not last long.

After reading what the Hoka Conquest would offer me, I tried on a pair. I did not size up and went with my regulat 8.5 size. When I first got it, initial fit was a tad tight in width and I could not make the speed laces work comfortably but I could tell that it is STABLE! I wanted this to work for me so I did the following...

                                      1. Removed speed laces...
                                      2. Used my favorite elastic speed laces but skipped 2 bottom loops
                                      3. Use thick socks and broke in it by running 3-4 milers and just walking around the house to widen it

It is now stretched wider that fits perfect for my feet. The material seems stronger and looks like it will hold up better that the mesh in Bondi 2.

I have a total of about 50 miles and I love it! STABLE, as cushioned as the Bondis, better sole and overall materials, promotes mid foot strike for me, rocker profile works for me as well.

Gave it 4 starts because of the speed laces issue!

Comments about Mens Hoka One One Conquest Running Shoe:

This is a great (possibly the best ever) shoe for long road or trail runs. Compared to other Hoka models, the Conquest is a more stable/firm riding shoe(still with plenty of cushioning). I feel more secure coming down fast, steep, technical trails, and after 10+ hilly miles, my legs/feet are now ready for more. Yes, the Conquest was designed for the road, but it seems right at home on the trail. Are these shoes magical or something?

Great Shoe. This is my second Hoka shoe. I used the Bondi B2 in the past. It at times felt to spongey for my taste, but this Hoka Conquest has the right amount. Not too much, and not to little.
