Best Uses I run Half and Full marathons in them. They are extra cushy so good on the joints.

I really like the comfort of these shoes and would give them 5 stars, but I don't think they hold up very well. I walk between 40 and 50 miles a week (alternating with another pair of walking shoes) and the shoes I bought in April (4 1/2 months ago) are falling apart under the forefoot. It's a shame because I have bone spurs and these make walking much more comfortable. I still use Newtons for running, as these Cliftons seemed to make my knees hurt when I run in them. These are very light and I kinda wish they'd hire a color expert when they design them. I also wish there was a way to lace the shoe a little higher at the top as my heel slips if I don't tie them tight enough. All in all, a nice shoe.... if they make them to last a bit longer

These shoes are so light they rank up there with the most expensive running shoes on the market in that category. If you get them on sale you will have a high performer at a bargain price. I wear them dawn to bedtime. I had knee surgery and toe surgery so I appreciate the support and reduced weight. They conform to the foot as well, and I wear custom orthotics, so it is like I finally have a pain free foot and good gait with these shoes after a long struggle and much PT to get it. Final piece to the puzzle. Thanks Hoka people.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Bought a previous pair of Hoka Clifton's and love how light they are and their overall feel. These felt quite cushioned out of the box. The first pair I bought weren't as cushioned as my Saucony's (that I usually buy) so had to immediately purchase an insole which helped. Have only run once in these but plan to take them on a trip and run about 7 miles every day- so that will be the test!!

I like this shoe, but the tongue lies flat against the top of my foot and rubs the top of my leg above the top of my foot. The slits that the laces go through to hold the tongue straight are also towards the top of the tongue (near the leg) instead of in the center of the tongue (mid foot) area. I don't care for that, just a personal preference, I have a high arch and find that I can't do my normal lacing towards the top of this shoe. Not my favorite, will probably send it back.

I normally wear Newtons (Distance U, Fate) and was looking for something with some cushion to balance out the wear and tear on my feet. These are so comfy that I wore them around my house as slippers the first day. I ran a few times in them and noticed my pace was considerably faster! It's like your bouncing, not running! Sadly, I also noticed that they were mighty snug in the toe box (insert sad face). I am waiting to see if a size up is better. I usually wear a 7 1/2 in any running shoe, but sized down in these according to other runners' reviews. I'm going back to the 7 1/2 and praying that might do the trick. Also, the shoe looks a bit awkward out of the box in that it isn't sleek and minimal. However, it grows on you. Don't be fooled by the look- it's light and wears like a minimal shoe! I would've given them 5 stars if not for the narrow toe box.
Pros Cons Best Uses Super Cushioning, and love the gait. I had to send back for a 1/2 size smaller after a few runs. They have me thinking Im converting from brooks, which makes me a little sad because Brooks has been my go to brand for so many years. If you want a super cushoney ride and light shoe, look no further.

The Hoka One One Clifton is hands down the best running shoe I've ever worn. I have always end walked, but wanted to get into running. I have flat feet and bunions. I also had a surgery go bad and ended up with a pin in one foot. All that being said I had no foot pain at all in any of my workouts. The Clifton has the right amount of cushion and stability. They are also super lightweight, which makes your overall run smoother. I will continue to purchase this shoe!!
Pros

Best Uses great service you can't beat roadrunners guarantee, why would you buy anywhere else?
Pros
Cons Best Uses I still love my Gel Kayanos, but these shoes offer me the next level of cushioning that I need to continue running. Definitely the most cushioned shoe I have run in. I felt like I was running on a cloud.
Pros Cons Best Uses 3rd pair and don't plan on trying any other shoes in the furture. Perfect for long runs!

Running on clouds. I have knee problems (patella femoral syndrome) and foot problems (plantar faciitis) and I can run again!!! The HOKA Clifton's have made it possible.
Pros Cons Best Uses I just recently started using the Clifton and I love that it is so light and has incredible cushion. I am using them for all my long runs and is much easier on my ankles and knees. Only problem is if you have a wear pattern the tread wears, VERY, VERY quickly. After only 1 run of 1 miles I see tread wear.

Will purchase a second pair soon.

I wore these for one run. It was 20 miles. the width is a bit narrow and the shoe is long. I had to size down from my normal size 9 running shoes to an 8.5. It has awesome cushion, but the tongue is very short and course/rough and rubs me raw. I have to use pre-wrap and tape to wear them. Not sure if I can keep them.
Pros

The best pair of running shoes I've worn
Pros Cons Best Uses This is by far the best running shoe I've ever owned. Even though I run through them faster, it is worth it. I don't get any strains nor pains.
Pros
Cons Best Uses These are very light and cushioned well. I had no issues with them on a treadmill or outside. I wear an 11A in most shoes...I got the 10 1/2 in these and the length is perfect. They do run a little narrow...they fit my narrow feet fairly well compared to regular width shoes that my feet slide back and forth in.

I am a long distance runner for 36 years now. I took these out of the box to run a half marathon. I was worried about this, but the Clifton's were amazingly comfortable the entire way. Normally, I run both trail and asphalt during 7 to 8 miles training runs. I manage with them on the trails, but are the best on the streets. Very cushy! I have mild knee oa and a neuroma, but with these shoes, no pain. They do wear out quickly, but all Hoka's that I have tried do with high mileage running.
Pros
Cons Best Uses
I've been running in Cliftons since the fall, and tried to go back to the Asics Nimbus (which was once the pinnacle of cushioning!). I simply can't see any drawback to running in these shoes. They have taken away my knee pain and Achilles pain, and allow me to run long distances without significant fatigue. These shoes are not a fad - they are the real deal!
Pros
Cons Best Uses I am probably one of the most injury prone runners in the world. I don't know why. I look like a runner but my body can not handle running. I had 4 metatarsal stress fractures within 2 1/2 years. Every time I would regularly start running again, I would have no warning...snap, a broken bone! I started searching online for the most cushioned shoes I could find. I came upon HOKA, made the purchase and I have been so happy! My last stress fracture was last June and I have been wearing HOKA shoes on my feet all day everyday since I started healing. I've been running regularly once again and everything is going well for a change! If you are injury prone you should definitely try these shoes! The only other shoes that compare cushion-wise are Brooks Transcend, and I have tried so many shoes by Asics and Brooks. Those are much heavier than the Hoka Clifton. In my opinion the Hoka Clifton is a great shoe and it can be a game changer for the injury prone runner! I will be running the Boston Marathon with these shoes on my feet!
Pros
Cons
Best Uses These shoes were all they promised in terms of lightweight, stability and comfort. The fit was perfect which is a first for me. The only issue with these shoes is that the tongue is just one layer of fabric and now that I have some miles on them, it does not lie flat. It curls up and rubs on the top of my feet which is very irritating. These would be the perfect shoes if it was not for that
Pros Cons Best Uses It's only been about 2 weeks, but my right foot arch and calf muscle cramping went away after 3 days (2 runs and a weight training class). I have been having this pain for 5 months with many attempts to fix it (other new shoes, 1 month off running, chiropractor, massage). So far, my foot is feeling better every day! I hope this continues.
Pros Cons Best Uses Love how they take away most of the knee pain and make the runs so much more comfortable for longer distances. They make me feel like a young runner again! Your service and fast delivery are always the best! Thanks a million!

Loved my stinson trail hokas so I thought I'd give a road hoka a shot. Wow, glad I did! Loved them out of the box!! Beware they run about 1/2 size too big- had to return my 11 for a 10.5. These fit perfect!!!

Had to switch from Asics Nimbus 15 to this shoe and I'm glad I did. I've had plantar faciatis in my right foot for about a year. These shoes actually helped a lot. I have a very high arch and this shoe conforms to the shape of my foot. I'm not suffering anymore. I do have to really tie the shoes tight because the tongue is very thin.
Pros Cons Best Uses I fully expected to return these. They look a little funny ( although my husband said they really don't look that clunky and they are certainly more streamlined than other homes!) and that thin little tongue just looked weird. Well what a pleasant surprise! I bought them because I'm doing my first marathon in 6 weeks and my right foot has been killing me i some of my older shoes. I know that my Kinvaras will not protect me at that distance. Well these will- I ran 16 miles today right out of the box- no breakin time needed. My foot didn't hurt at all-amazing and I'm definitely a Hoka believer now!

I've run 3 to 6 mile runs in them so far. They rebound really well. It feels like it springs you into your next step almost. Tons of great cushion. I've even done some trail running in them. It does feel a tiny bit different on the trail. At first I noticed the thickness of the soles on the uneven terrain, but I guess my brain/legs readjusted quickly because by the end of the 3.5 mile run, I didn't notice it anymore.

After getting fitted at RR Paramus (and learning I have the highest arches ever), I've been looking for shoes with a ton of arch support. The Cliftons did NOT disappoint. I was nervous about fit, since many purchasers said the toebox was smaller. I'm typically an 8.5, and I get a 9 in running shoes. The 9s fit perfectly. Plenty of room for my toes, and the foot itself is snug. I may replace the laces at some point- they're somewhat slim and loose. Still, I normally run a steady 11 m/m pace, and when I went out last week I sprinted off at a 9 without realizing it. Looking forward to loving these shoes for a long time.
