Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: I have gone through 3 pairs of the 295 and can't be happier with the quality, construction, fit and function of the shoe.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: I have been trail running with the INOV-8 Roclite 295's for some time now. I have no plans to switch. These shoes are great for short tempo runs all the way to the double digit distance runs. Ice, rain, snow, mud, rocks...nothing can really get in the way except pavement. If you have not tried these shoes, you are missing out. They DO have a removable insert unlike stated in another review. You can read a full review at my running blog at [@]

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: Wore these to several ultras, World's Toughest Mudder and the Spartan Ultra Beast. Great grip, excellent on obstacles including rope climbs. Very comfortable. I usually bring a back up pair of shoes, but have never had to change shoes mid-race. Roclite 295 is my shoe. No desire to try anything else at this point. They're getting the job done.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: This shoe is the best trail shoe I've owned. I tried Brooks Cascadia 9 and NB 980 with negative results. Its seems that those shoes treads just couldn't stand up to the punishment the trails I run dish out. The Roclites take the punishment and don't flinch. I've put over 100 miles on my current pair. They are worn but look as they should. They are comfortable and with the 6mm drop, they feel more minimalist, which I prefer.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: Wore these during a 12-hour trail race, Spartan Ultra Beast and World's Toughest Mudder. Never had to change shoes. Great grip, comfortable. I went up a size, which was a good decision. Black toenails haven't been a that big an issue with this shoe.

Best Uses Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: I regularly flirt with plantar fasciitis and am careful to use shoes that don't unnecessarily stress my arches. My plantars aren't currently bothering me, but taking these shoes out for their inaugural run stressed them out. Not enough bottom cushioning to prevent rocks from hitting sensitive spots and causing new pain. The arch support didn't feel that great either. Oddly, I really liked the tongue of the shoe. I often feel like lacing up some shoes hurts the top of my feet and its hard to get the right amount of tightness, but these ones were definitely comfortable in that regard.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: If you truely want a shoe for RUNNING on trails, this is the shoe. The ROCLITE™ 295 is NOT some road shoe that they make in a dark color and treak the tre. ads a little bit. I have run on: Roads, Grass, Wood Chips, Gravel, Shoulder Stone, Boulders, Sand, Mud, Boot Sucking Mud, Snow and Ice. The ROCLITE™ 295 can handle all of it with the exception of ice. No shoe can handle ICE, but anything else that you throw at it, and the Roclite will keep you happy

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: Took the out of the box and up the Bear Mountain in AZ. They were just amazing, how they keep up those rocks. They felt like i was glued onto the rocky slopes. Definately great trail running shoe, as long as you dont encounter any sharp rocks etc.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: As an avid trail runner who averages 40 miles a week and at least two ultras per year, I bought these shoes for their traction on loose trails and mud. Spectacular traction and good looks. However, the sole became delaminated after about 60 miles. Additionally, the minimal support left my feet sore for weeks after a 12 hr run. I'll go back to Montrails for the better support.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: Great shoe (sort of), great fit, nice on the trail or mixed terrain. BUT the heal wears quickly. I generally run with Newtons, but picked these up as a combination walking/running shoe. I'm 130 lbs. and I have worn through to the mid-sole material in less than 250 miles at the heel. The heal lugs broke off after about 80 miles. These could really use more abrasion resistance in the heal. The out-sole is VERY thin all the way around. Won't order these again. I'll look at other Inov-8 shoes, but I will look carefully at the out-sole before I buy.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: I took my chances in running with this shoes after reading all the reviews. After several trail run training and running the Prickly Pear Train Run today in TX. This shoe proved it could do its job. It kept me dry from the wet, muddy, and cold elements of today's 10 mile trail run. I was zooming past other runners along the trail with the advantage of good traction from slippery mud, waterways, and singletrack gravels.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: I bought these to train for, and compete in, the Jemez Trail Run 50K. I was having troubles with several incidents with almost rolling my ankles in my previous shoes, the brooks cascadia, and after a final incident where I did have an injury I dumped the cascadias and bought these shoes which are very stable on uneven trails because they have a lower to the ground profile. I bought size 10.5 and I tend to be 10.25. They seem maybe a bit too large. The shoes have a special hinge to allow natural push off from the toes, but this hinge is maybe not positioned correctly in my shoes which are maybe a bit too large. In any case I have had some new problems with calloses and pain on my little toe on one foot which could be just from running alot. In any case the shoes also seem to be light, fast, and efficent. I found it necessary to add insoles which is maybe contrary to the shoes design.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: Great shoe. Very light, great traction and extremely comfortable - holds the foot nicely on descents. Limited cushioning or arch support so not great for road running or packed surfaces, but then again this is designed as a no compromise trail shoe which is what makes it so good.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: I do mostly 6-10 mile trail runs, with 10% or so on pavement. These shoes excel in soft slippery conditions. They are a bit lacking in cushioning to be good on hardpack, although the soles are fantastic and offer excellent protection and grip. The are by far the lightest trail shoe I have ever used, but to be perfect (for me) just a bit more mid/ forefoot cushioning would be nice. Great fit, which is often half the battle with trail shoes. Steep downhills my foot was locked in.. Great shoe and will buy again.

Comments about Mens Inov-8 Roclite 295 Trail Running Shoe: This shoe is amazing! It is spacious where it needs to be spacious and has amazing traction on the rockiest and sandiest trails. The shoe does not have a removable insert - not bad but be warned. It drains quickly and is light. Love it.
