I purchased these shoes on recommendation by a sponsored triathlete who swore by them. His coach recommended them to him as a lightweight alternative to minimalist shoes. After putting these shoes through their initial paces I have to say they are quite possibly the most comfortable shoe I have run in, and they are pretty light (thought not the lightest). Some may think the soles are TOO comfortable (i.e. too soft) and may not like the extra cushy feel. The only serious gripe I have is that the shoe gets very hot due to the waterproof upper which has very little ventilation. If you plan to wear these shoes sockless this may not be so much of a problem. The other minor qualm I have is that these are one ugly pair of shoes. If you're looking for bright colors on a shoe I think Newton does it right. Newton has a way of taking neon colors and still applying it in a way where the shoe is still good looking; these on the other hand are somewhat aesthetically challenged. Overall I will definitely keep these shoes in my shoe bag and use it for recovery runs and maybe even a few half marathon runs where extra cushion is required along with the light weight.
