Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

The first thing I must say is that I am not a runner! I bought these shoes because of my plantar fasciitis. With the 7's I have absolutely NO heel pain. Later I decided to buy another pair, but my running store did not carry the 7's anymore so I went with the 8's. I had to return them because I started to suffer with heel pain everytime I wore them. I absolutely love my 7's!

I have been wearing the 05 & 06 loyally! Every transition to a new shoe every 6 months have been nothing but smooth until now. The new skeletal system they added is too stiff and even though I have tried and tried to break them in (ie. wearing them to work)they make my feet and my knees hurt. During walking and running. Even with my orthotics. Am disappointed b/c now I have to look for a new shoe. Any suggestions?

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

I have been running in the wave creation for 5 years. I have absolutely loved the shoe, until the wave creation 7 has come out, and I have tried 2 pairs of wc7, and they were had the same issues. The bottom of the shoe, the inside side, wore out way faster then it should have, and way faster than the outside side. After only 2 months in the shoe I noticed the wear. After about 2 more months, they were completly trashed. This might be the life span of this shoe, but I still have 2 pairs of old wave creation 6's in the closet, and they did not wear out nearly this bad. (My running schedule has been about the same, so I know that the previous models have the same number of miles.) Near the end of the shoes life I started to notice achillies tendon tightness, and knew it was time to retire the shoes. I have loved this shoe, but because of the weird wearing out pattern-I have switched to another shoe company (asics.)

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

I wear Brooks running shoes, usually the Brooks Trance. I am a medium to heavy runner with VERY high arches. This year the Brooks Trance has been moved to a stability shoe classification instead of the cushion classification. After looking at your reviews I went with the Women's Mizuno Wave Creation 7, now my plantar Fasciitis is flaring up. I am very upset I know this shoe is causing that. The Brooks shoe never did this to me. The reason I decided on this shoe is the reviews said it helped other with that; instead it is causing that for me. I am not at all happy with this purchase!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

I've been wearing this model of shose since Mizuno first put them on the market. I had had problems with plantar fasciitis and that stopped after using this shoe.
Reading the other testimonials - my weight is up significantly since I began running and wearing these shoes (several medical problems). This shoe might not be for everyone and that depends on your foot strike, core strength, how you distriubte your weight in stride. I, too, have had wear on the heel - the fabric on back - and other places. I can always track bad wear patterns to when I was ill (including orthopedic problems) and off kilter in one way or another. I can equally tell anyone that, when your form is good and are wearing the shoe meant for your body and foot type, this shoe is great.
There is no other shoe for me. I even wear them on trail runs. Great shoe.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

I recently bought a pair of Nike Pegasus 2005 they fit horribly and killed my knees. I switched to the Mizuno Creation 7s and out of the box ran 6.5 miles with no pain. They have a much snugger fit and feel great. The shoe is a little stiffer than others but that's what I prefer.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

Mixed feelings about these. They clearly absorb shock well and after a long run I have no soreness in my back/knees (I'm 220lbs). They are however very hard feeling - much more so than the Creation 6. Fit could be a little better as well - heel slips a bit. OK, but not fantastic.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

Absolutely wonderful shoe, ideal for me - 200lbs, neutral high arches, normal width foot. Cushioning and shock absorbtion works very well, however the ride feels like a PU midsole rather than the very soft foam used in most cushioning shoes. Fit took a little while to break in, but now they feel great. Only minor criticism is the colour sucks - but if that's the most you need to worry about in your shoes, life is sweet.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

I used to run in the Creation 4s and 6s, and I was very optimistic that the 7s would be even better. I was a bit disappointed. I took them out for a quick 3 mile break-in jog and they were too stiff...hurt my foot pad, and were generally uncomfortable. I was very sad. The good news is that I called RRS and they happened to have a stray Wave Creation 6 in my size. I am sure this shoe will be great for some, but for me the subtle changes were enough to make it not feel right.

A disaster. I ran in the Creation 5 and 6 and loved them. I then switched to the 7 and my knees went crazy from the change. Check the sole. It is entirely different and the added plate made my gait change to adapt. This isn't a slight update to the model, it felt like a completely different shoe. I'm loading up on the old creations until Mizuno comes to its senses!

I LOVED the Creation 5s, thought the 6s were horrible (hurt my knees and feet right away).RRS took them back and traded them for the 7s. 7s are marginally better, my knees don't hurt quite as much nor do my feet, though nothing matches how good they felt with the 5s. Darn.

Follow-Up....After trying the Creation 7's (see below) and my knees aching significantly I found a pair of Creation 5's on line for half the price of the 7's. Bingo, within a week my knees were fine and all is right with the world. If you loved the 5's or 6's buy the 7's with your eyes WIDE open and be prepared to switch. That's my experience. Now I'm looking for a different model unless Mizuno goes back to its former design.

Absolutely awesome shoe - can't really find a fault. Great cushioning (the guy below who said it doesn't have any is either fatter than the average American - which is pretty fat - or has no experience of running shoes), great fit, great feel, light, responsive etc. etc. Tried the Nimbus VIII before these and they really don't compare. Colour isn't great, but who cares.

I've run in 4's, 5's and 6's and this shoe has the best heel to toe transition of any. The firm footbed is a real plus for me. I'm a big guy, 6' 2" and 195 lbs., with a fairly neutral gait. My knees and legs are happy!

By jleboeuf

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

Okay, after a few more runs and considerably more miles, I had to return these shoes. They may well work for others, however, for this 170 lb. neutral runner - they do not. With more high-mileage runs, I developed terrible shin splints and calf cramps that lasted long after the runs were over. The stitching in the inside of the mesh still kept irritating my forefoot as well. And to top it all off, I developed a new pain in the ball of my right foot. So, back to the store they went and that was pretty much the nail in the coffin for me and Mizuno. I went back to Asics/Nike and am happy to report that I have been running pain free for a week now in a pair of Asics Nimbus VII's, which I alternate with a pair of Nike Air Moto III's I scooped up before the IV's came out. The Creation does have a good ride and had I experienced the same pains with the Asics/Nikes, I would have thought twice about bashing them, but as it stands, for me at least, they just don't work.

These are the first Creation.s that I have tried and compared to Asics and Brooks efforts of late these are great shoes. I went for an 8 miles run with them straight out of the box and didn.t have any problems. They were a litte stiff, but considering it.s winter time and 25 degress I would suspect any show would be stiff. Can.t wait for the weather to warm up and really experience Mizuno cushioning. I would give these a 4 now and hopefully a 5 when it warms up.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Creation 7 Running Shoe:

I've been a fan of all the Creations and I think this is the best yet. It seems much more smooth than the 6 in terms of heel to toe responsiveness. Again, the fit is great...have done two 20 mile runs since buying the shoe three weeks ago with no problems whatsoever. I used to keep trying other shoes (Asics, Brooks, etc.) looking for the "perfect shoe" and I keep coming back to the Creations.

Just bought the Wave Creation 7s and ran 7 miles this morning. The heel strike impact is very hard (doesn't feel like cushion to my body) even while walking. It did improve during the run, but not as much as I would like. I could feel impact traveling up my body. Knees felt a little painful during the run and back is painful now. Like you, I read a lot of positive feedback for these shoes and was hoping for the best when purchasing them. These, however, are not for me - took them back in exchange for Asics' Nimbus line. Call me soft, but cushion is wonderful and these just didn't have enough. Runner Specs - 6'2", 170lbs, normal to high arch, normal gait. I hope this helps.

I'm going against the trend here, but these didn't do the job for me. I want quality and comfort when I pay over $100 for shoes. My knees hurt and my feet are begging for another shoe. Best of luck to all of you who like them. Proves again it takes different styles to please different people.

Mixed feelings about these. They clearly absorb shock well and after a long run I have no soreness in my back/knees (I'm 220lbs). They are however very hard feeling - much more so than the Creation 6. Fit could be a little better as well - heel slips a bit. OK, but not fantastic.
