Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

I have tried them all (Nike, Asics, New Balance etc) and none compares to the WR9s. They are so comfortable that you sometimes forget you have them on. I only hope Mizuno does not mess it up.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

I am a high school distance runner and just switched from Nikes to this Mizuno. The Wave Rider 9 feels great and really improves your turnover or transition rate. This particular shoe has the perfect combination of cushion and support. I have also run sub 5 minute miles in them and they are very responsive.

My first pair of running shoes!! These are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. When you go from bulky new balance cross-trainers to this light shoe, it makes a world of difference.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

Tried in Arizona before returning home - now building mileage in UK after a lay-off.
I found the heel edge too soft - the wavy plate feels less rigid than my earlier shoes and gives less strike support - I hit on the outside edge of my heel and supinate slightly. I have had to build the outer heel tread with ShooGoo to give a firmer strike point. Disappointed as over-softness is something I disliked about Nike's air-cushion and why I chose my earlier WRs.
Other than that, light, comfortable, slim around back-foot, roomy around toe-box with good general cushioning. Fine for any distances.
Not for anyone needing support.

Before I said this shoe has too less cushioning in the heel, but now i think that's not true. I've runned a 21.1 km without any problems and in a good time.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

The best Wave Riders since the 2000! These are great for long runs and speed work. The changes from the WR8's are all positive from my perspective. On my second pair of WR9's after some rigorous summer training on the first pair. Just be sure to follow the instructions for sizing up!

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

This review is based on one 5 mile run. For fit comments see my review below and note that the Riders fit is more snug then that of the Brooks Glycerin 4. After running in both shoes I'd say that the Riders are less flexible and therefore provide more stability. This may be a good thing as I am transitioning from stability shoes to cushioning shoes. Having said that I still enjoyed the ride and am looking forward to my next run in them.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

Didn't purchase this shoe, but I've recently seen the Rider 10 update and it's a very good improvement. New AP softer sockliner, wider forefoot and more flexible last than this Rider 9! Wait another week (Dec 20) and get the Rider 10 and I'll bet you'll be pleased
as well as surprised?

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

Love the WR9. I have a closet full of lovingly retired WR's dating back to the WR6. I have tried all the rest: Adidas dont work with my high arched duck feet, Nike Peg's are good for about 2 long runs before they break down, plus QC is questionable--I have 3 pair of Peg'05s and every one is different size though all the same, too much of a crapshoot for me. Asics are ok, but for some reason I get Achilles tendon pain after a couple runs. New Balance, hmmm, I dont even try any more, I used to run "only" in NB's due to my width, but lately, I just cannot find one that works. My only complaint with the WR is they only last about 150 miles for me. But I am brutal on the heels, and this is the most durable I have found. I did just run a half in my new Wave Creation 7, and set a PR. Stiff and hard shoe, but really, what can I complain about when I PR?

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 9 Running Shoe:

Excellent overall cushioning and I am on my 2nd pair! A bit firmer in the heel as compared to the A6 Cumulus, but great flexibility for longer training run or race efforts. Not good for dirt trais as rocks get stuck in the open heel area

This is a fit review only - Great fit for those who prefer a narrow heel, high volume mid section and wide toebox. I've tried on many, many shoes and have found the Mizuno Wave Riders and the Brooks Glycerin 4 to be the best fit for my feet.
