Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I thought I was a Mizuno customer for life until I bought these shoes. Past Creations have been very comfortable with a very soft landing. This one is not as comfortable but the main problem is it is extremely stiff. You can here me coming from 20 yards away -- sounds like I'm running in a pair of work boots. Also am starting to feel shin splints come on. Very disappointing.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

Let me start by saying the 7's were the best shoe I have ever run in. I'm 6'2" and 220 lbs and a heavy striker. The 8's were not quite up to par with the 7's but still an outstanding running shoe. Most cushioning of any shoe I have tried.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I run about 30 miles a week have a neutral gait and weigh 189lbs. These shoes fit great which is a nice change for my narrow feet. But the stiffness of the toe off is so high that they messed with my achilles tendons. I had to return them after one run. If you are not too sensitive to lower lege stress these would be nice shoes. Obviously durability as far as I am concerneed is unknown.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I bought 2 pairs of the Wave creation sevens, and they were the best running shoe I ever had. The eights were a little stiff and give me blisters. The front is more narrow than the sevens. Not a terrible shoe, but not near as good as the sevens.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I tried the WC 8 because they were on sale. I was a long time Nike fan because prior trials with Adidas, Asics, and Saucony were utterly disappointing. Although the cushioning is un-Nike like, after a few miles I began to love the responsiveness and comfort of these shoes. Also unlike Nike these shoes are continuing to hold up under heavy use. I am now a Mizuno customer and look forward to my next pair. Unfortunately, after several hundred miles this pair is refusing to show any signs of giving up.

Hated 'em. They felt like I was running on a couple of 2X4's strapped to my feet. After 5 miles or so my feet started to go numb. I sent them back and got the Nike Vomero - they're awesome. I'm 170lb and run 20-30 mi/wk.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

My bucket of WC-5's and 6's which I loved finally wore out and I bought these 8's. Got maybe a hundred miles on them. Disappointed.
I can't get the lace tension correct, a little too tight over instep, forefoot goes numb, little too loose, heal is sloppy. They don't seem to self regulate like the 5,6's. But the biggest problem is the design of theback half and heel. Those hard plastic ridges on the upper portion midfoot to heel are like knives. The WILL cut you at the ankle bone protrusion if you mis-stride. Got the scabs to prove it. Mizuno better wake up on this one.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

OK, like some of the other reviewers, I hated these for the first few runs. Out of the box, they seem heavy, stiff, and the infinity wave system feels very hard. However, I stuck with them and after about 50 miles (perhaps too much required breakin), they started to feel more flexible and cushy. I actually quite like these for longer runs now- they are too heavy still for shorter runs. I havent tried the 9 yet...

Just goes to show how we all can have such a different experience with the same shoe. These seem very light, have great cushion- firm and responsive rather than squishy- great transition and allow for midfoot strike very nicely. I'm 145 lbs and these shoes don't feel bulky at all.I've never ran in any previous Creations, but these are feeling great!

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I am a big and tall guy doing 30-35 miles a week. I use these for track workouts. Although they have decent cushioning, they are a bit stiff and heavy for me and I won't be buying another pair. The main culprit seems to be the heavy and firm waveplate. One side effect of this criticism is that the shoes build strength in the fashion of an ankle weight.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I have ran with mizunos for years (wave riders), and switching to this one has been a great disappointment. Firstly, the shoe is extremely stiff; although well-cushioned, one feels like running in expensive dress shoes .. not a nice feeling. Furthermore, the soles quickly wear out. I run 80km+ /week, and found these shoes to be unusable after about 300km.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I've run in Mizuno's for 10 years. This model, though comfortable, is too heavy and klunky for those who have grown accustomed to light Mizuno shoes. Additionally, if you occasionally run on trails or in snow, the gap in the heel gathers large amounts of snow, dirt, and small pebbles. This, more than anything, was a constant problem and my biggest dislike of the shoe.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Creation 8 Running Shoe:

I've been running in this shoe only occasionally starting this summer and put on a little over 30 miles so far. Today I go for a run in 40 to 50 deg. F weather and the cushioning disappeared on me! The plastic, "cushion" struts don't bend like they are engineered to in cold weather. Walking from indoors to outside I noticed increased stiffening as the shoe got colder. The shoe fits me very well and has good cushioning in 80-90 deg. F weather... but so do many LESS expensive shoes, like Asics cumulus.

I feel extremely fortunate to have experienced this brand and this style (specifically). I'm 5'5" and 195 lbs -- male who hates to run but love to lift weights. My running partner is 5'0" and 109 lbs and is an intermediate runner. Retired from the military because of achillis tendonitis and heel spurs due to extreme Plantar Fascia. This shoe has saved my life literally -- i've lost 10 lbs in less than 4 months of running (twice outdoors) and (twice treadmill). I believe the shoe was made for me -- i'm ready for the military to call me back -- may not happen (old man now) but i'm getting ready!

I have worn 6 different creations and found the iteration prior to this one to be the worst made this shoe fits wonderfully and is very durable. I would like for Mizuno to add back a little of the cusion they took out when they created the figure 8 infinity heel on them. I do not think the heel will break down, BUT it is a bit stiff and can be jarring.

Mediocre shoe. I didn't find it heavy but a little to firm and didn't feel that responsive. Have gotten far better runs out of $60-$75 dollar shoes. There is no justifiable reason for this shoe to be priced at $130.00, The precision is a far superior shoe and half the price.

Ran the Oklahoma Marathon in these after only putting 20 miles on them. They were a disappointment after 150 miles because of the wear on the back right which disappeared fast. During the first 150 the were firm with lots of cushion, now they are mushy and heavy. Back to the Asics, but may try the model above the nimbus.

These seemed very heavy and clunky the first few runs, but as I broke them in, this seemed to improve marginally. Probably best suited for bigger runners as a durable training shoe. Hopefully Mizuno will go with a redesign next time around to make this lighter, less clunky, and more responsive.

I have worn these for about a month, they are killing my shins and all the muscles and tendons between my calf and ankles, it takes days to recover, not sure why????

I've run in the previous 5 versions of the Creation and was extremely disappointed in this model - Mizuno ruined a great shoe. While forefoot cushioning seemed to be improved/ softer, the shoe overall feels HEAVY and rides much higher off the ground than its predecessors. Have since purchased the Wave Rider 10 and 50 miles in including a 14 mi. run, feel quite good about the change. FWIW, I'm 5'11", 165 lbs, put in 30+ mi. each week, and had run 4 marathons in the Creations.

My least favorite Wave Creation series shoe. I've gone back to my old 7's and am shopping for a new brand to replace Mizuno. I've worn Mizunos for years and am saddened by the loss of an old friend.

This shoe is great! Plenty of cushioning and flexability but it may be a tad heavy. I'm 235 pounds (size 10.5) and a weight lifter so the shoe felt soft for me from day one. Lighter guys may not "feel" the cushioning. I hope they are more durable than my nimbus 7, after 140 miles the nimbus made my knees hurt. Also the traction is impressive. One negative I can see is the accumulation of mud under heel if you run on trails in the rain.

I run in precisions but i was looking for something a bit more durable. IMO, the rider 10's update is junk, so I tried the creation not really thinking i would ever buy it. If you are a neutral runner this shoe works. Can't really understand where the gripes about heavy, clunky, stiff are coming from. This shoe is cushioned and flexible. I am 5:10-155lbs and i don't find this shoe heavy at all. I train in the precision and that weighs less than 10 ounses. Again, if you are neutral i think this will work

Can't understand the negative reviews - you guys must work for Asics. This is a great fitting, well cushioned, responsive shoe for heavier neutral runners. Doesn't weigh any more than comparable shoes.

I keep reading people's reviews of this shoe here and on other sites and it seems that the opinion is that the shoe is heavy, clunky, slows them down, etc. Well, my 55 year old friend just ran a 2:57 marathon in them...and he only broke them in on a 10 mile run. The point is, it's the engine not the shoes.

I was running on Asics Ninmbus VII and I loved them too much to let them go, but it ran out of miles. Because of the reviews on this site I didnt buy the Ninmbus VIII and bought the Creation 8s, how disappointing. The shoes are so stiff, my right knee started to hurt as my Achilles tendons. Would not recommend this shoes for any one.

I am a 180lb male, who runs an average 7:45 pace, faster on shorter runs slower on longer runs. I run 2-3 times per week on asphalt. I switched to Mizuno a few years ago from Nike. Have run in Nirvana and Creation 6 and 7; I purchased the Creation 8 thinking that it would once again improve... I was very disappointed. The ride is stiff, roll through is worse, and had to lace through last eyelet to get a better fit(I have never had to do that EVER). I called the store where I purchased, but because I ran in them "more than once on a treadmill", I couldn't exchange them. I am now looking to buy all the Creation 7s(I rate 5 STARS!) that I can find and also try the intermediate/lighter level Mizuno. I was told by the Mizuno rep at the Nashville Marathon that the new wave will last longer... so what, if I am going to spend $130 then I am more concerned about fit and feel than lasting forever. On the plus side... good looking and great mesh all over.

I am a loyal Mizuno fan and have run in Mizuno Creation for years so I was looking forward to the Creation 8 because I liked the Creation 7 so well. But, this shoe is the worst creation that has been produced. It gave me knee pain and heel pain. I have switched to Saucony Ride. Sorry Mizuno you blew it.

I have been a die hard Creation runner for over 2 years. I have been running in the 8 for 3 months trying to give it a chance. The 8 has had this long to brake-in and continues to give shin and ankle pain.

I should give it 4 stars but to compensate for others who are negative--I award 5! GREAT shoe if you have a nuetral gait--ONLY! Pronaters--stay away! Supinators--don't touch it! Light weight racers--don't even look at it! [And don't complain about it not working for you if you ignore this advice!] IT IS HEAVY (I wish it were lighter) so for training NOT racing. It helps me to keep my form true. I like the better last too but with Mizunos I'm always between a 11.5 and 12--I sized up 1 full size for this one.

Don't judge by just the feel of the shoe, as it appears a bit clunky and heavy...It works perfectly with my full length soft orthotic, and runs very smooth, stable, and cushioned...Very good ever day trainer, but skip this for any racing or fast paced runs...

not a good shoe for the price. The shoe is heavy and clunky. The shoe doesn't allow any absorption and made my shoes have a loud slappy noise. It was embarassing. I have always used neutral shoes in the past so I know I'm in the right shoes but these just arn't built for neutral guys.

First about me..190lb .very high arches, orthotic in left shoe only..over 24,000 lifetime miles...that being said here is my review..Mizuno changed this shoe for the better..arch support is not less just perceived that way as it is smoothed out for better heel to toe transition..forefoot cushioning is important to me and this shoe has it..still has the sports car close to the road feel..the base of support is wider which should alleviate any concerns those concerned about the arch "change" would have..there is more than one way to protect your arch..if you liked earlier version of the creation..namely four through six..you will like this..it is a fantastic shoe.....

I've run in the Creations since version III. Version VII was great for me and I ran 10+ half marathons in them last year (one twe weeks ago). I've tried to do a couple of 5 milers in the Creation VIII's and have had to stop because of shin and ankle pain both times, which hasn't been an issue in any of the previous versions. This is a different shoe than the VII. Much stiffer and it feels less neutral (more motion control). Am going to have to return them or get injured trying to break them in. I wanted to love these, but just can't do it.

I've run a few hundred miles in the Creation 7s. I'm a 170lb. male who is a moderate pronator but has a medium arch. I love the arch support and fit of this shoe more than any other shoe I've ever tried. Lacks forefoot cushioning, though, so I don't run more than 10 miles in this shoe and use it only for mid-week training. I run my Marathons in Saucony Hurricanes. Excellent heel cushioning. Tread wears out fast.
