Wed, May 07,2008:
I had earlier rated this shoe 5 stars. However, I recently devoloped plantar fascitis which quickly resolved when changed to a neutral shoe with firm cushioning (Nike Pegasus). The Precision, despite having excellent cushioning, is too soft and spongey for long hard runs.

Great cushion for a lightweight, neutral runner. Fit is a bit wider in the forefoot than I’d like (a result of the new last, I believe, and/ or fewer overlays.) I merely went down 1/2 size; no problem with fit what so ever. Great performance shoe, Mizuno!

heal -toe transition good, nice flexibility but cushioning is really compromised with this up date. After 2 miles you can feel the pounding

Terrible update! Been using Precision since the 3. Mizuno, get back to the drawing board. The forefoot is a cavern. Compensated by tieing differntly and adjusting my foot strike. I now have severe blisters. The shoes have less than 200 miles and the heel pad is completely gone.

15 miles right out of the box and they felt great! Good traction, soft cushioning and plenty of room in the toe box for those longer runs.

Great lightweight shoe that still offers support over longer distances. I've raced in this shoe and had a number of PRs.

Good bit softer but fits like a box. Still big improvement over the previous model that was too stiff unlike all the previous models.
To Mizuno: Shape the shoes like human feet, like you used to, and keep it soft - people who like it bit stiffer can go to your excellent Elixir.

I have a wide forefoot and this shoe fits nicely without rubbing or hot spots. The upper is like running in a slipper. It is light and comfortable with adequate padding for longer runs.

Just goes to show how much shoe fit is an individual thing. I never would have tried these if I had read half the reviews on here ahead of time. I'm glad I didn't read them, because this shoe fits me great. Only a little over 100 miles on them right now, but this is the best fit I've had after 30...

My foot started to hurt after a few runs -- then I developed painful plantar fasciitis. RRS rep said Mizuno lowered the arch in this shoe to relate to more runners. BAD idea. 4 months later my foot still hurts. Don't buy.

Mon, November 05,2007:
Most comfortable marathon racing shoe ever for me, slightly lower heel than previous models worked well, forefoot cushioning worked well on all but steepest downhills, MUCH less lateral heel wobble than tends to appear in Riders, Burns, or multiple "air" shoes after 18+ miles. Felt a little wide on...

I would give this death trap a 0 if I could. Unlike other Mizunos I've had, this one has thick plastic lace eyelets that might as well be steel hammers. After running in them three times, I have a quarter sized bruise on my foot. These shoes are terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Like the shoe better than'7'. It started out a little sloshy and the laces are too long so I had a little adjudtment to the correct tightening. I love the way they feel;joints feel better.

Fri, October 19,2007:
As some buyers pointed out: Wider in the forefoot than previous precisions, I don’t like. But more important, the forefoot sole is at its widest point narrower than for the precision 7, reducing the stability when pushing forward. I also have the impression that the forefoot sole is slightly thinner...

Outstanding shoe. Light, flexible, responsive. The forefront room is something I appreciate in Mizunos, so I love it. Ran a BQ and had less foot-impact pain than in any other marathon.

It´s a fantastic shoe with a firm ride from heel to toe, light but stable enough. The passform is much better for people with feet not so small. Vou can use it for any distance.

Yuck, Yuck. I felt like I was running on top of sponge-bob-square pants...my feet were sloshing all over the ground. Mizuno is really making it hard to enjoy the upgrades. First it was the Creation 8s that are a disaster, now it is the Precisions. Mizuno...get back to the drawing board and just ch...

I have been running in Precisions since the 3. This is the WORST FIT EVER. The fore foot has been enlarged. The previous models used to fit like a glove. The 8 fits like a box. Way too much room. Severe blisters because of the extra room. The shoes are going back. Terrible, terrible update.

Awesome shoe! Loved the Precision 7, then tried NB 825s. The Precision 8 is so much more responsive heel to toe, and so much better for my high arch than the 825 which in comparison was mushy and nonsupportive. Ran within seconds of a 5mi PR the day after getting my Precision 8s and will run any d...
