Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

Do yourself a favor and buy a pair. Will not a competitive runner, I run about 12 miles a week to stay in shape as I'm a tennis player at my university. Never really thought much of buying a high end running shoe until my marathoner friend told me it makes a big difference, and boy does it. Very light, breathable and easy on my feet, love running in these

I love these shoes. They're light weight and the cushion is springy. Large toe box with lots of ventilation.
Only critique is that the cushion/shoe wore out quickly.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

Very light and responsive but still has some support. These run SMALLER than the Wave Rider 11/12, Gel Nimbus, and 2140s. I wear 8.5 in all the above but 8.5 in these are uncomfortably snug.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

It seems to me that most people either love or hate this shoe (5 or 1 star). I am a 5 foot 8 15 year old high school runner weighing 115 pounds and running between 30 and 40 miles a week. I love the narrowness of the heel and I was a fan of the Elixir 2. My only complaint is that the traction wore down out and I have only had these since June and have only run 250 miles. The Elixir 2s lasted much longer. So if you aren't worried about the shorter shoe life and the narrower heal and middle part of the shoe agree with you, you will probably love this shoe. If you wore the Elixirs 1 and 2 and didn't want anything narrower and relied heavily on the arch support, your out of luck. Your next bet would be Asics. Good Luck. I hope this helped.

Iam using this shoe to train for my 2nd marathon. 5'8" 160 lbs planning to run a 3:20:00. This shoe is extremely comfotable, supportive and lightweight. It conforms to the foot in the best way. Strongly recommended.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

This is a great shoe. After owning the v1 and v2 Elixir, the v3 has better heel fit and more length at the toes. Good grip sole (it's not too noisy or slippery). I wanted to try another brand, but forget it. Try the Asics DS-13 "Wonderbread" or the
Saucony "Charmin" Tangent or worse yet the Nike Zoom for bloated puffyness heaven. If you want to feel fast on a hot day on the track, the Elixir 3 is the one. This is a responsive, performance trainer. That's what you want in a sub 10 oz shoe! Right? Keep it up Mizuno...

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

If you are reviewing this, please state the type of arch you have. Remember this shoe is categorized in the performance stability class, so it is _suppose_ to be for low to medium arches and small to medium body frame. If you love this shoe and are not in that category, then please say so. I continue to believe this shoe is miscategorized and folks wanting to buy performance stability should steer clear of this shoe.

I've been a Marverick/Elixer user for ever and when this one came out I was a little nervous about the toe box...not to worry it's great. I originally got them for races, but now I run in them everyday, and in races and my feet have been very happy with them.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

This is NOT the same show as the Elixir 1 and 2. It fits a bit narrow, which may not be a problem, but more importantly this show now has a higher arch support. For those of us with flat feet, this change from previous Elixir models turns this shoe into a very uncomfortable and painful shoe in which to run. I suppose that if you have normal arches, this shoe may fit well. But for others, beware. I don't see how this shoe should remain in the "Performance Stability" class.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

Agree that this shoe is much different in terms of both ride and fit in comparison to the Elixir 1 and 2. How does it differ? The fit is narrower both in the heel and the forefoot. The tread pattern is also much different with the old ASICS DS Trainer type micro knobs situated at the front of the bottom sole. The shoe feels slightly less stable, which could be due to the narrower fit of the shoe. Color scheme is like ultra hideous. Looks like a Valentine's Day Special for women with its reddish, pinkish color scheme. Mizuno, wake up!

I bought this shoe to serve the role of a lighter weight training shoe to compliment my Wave Inspires. It fills that role perfectly. My experience with Mizuno shoes as a whole is that they move with my foot really well (all the mesh maybe?) and this is no exception.
Fantastic lightweight training shoe if it fits you right.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 3 Running Shoe:

Love the new update. I have been a Mizuno fan for almost 5 years now, I have run 7 marathons in them and love them. This particular shoe is not for a beginner or someone needing stability or motion control. IT IS A LIGHTWEIGHT TRAINER. I have high arches and am biomechanically efficient, 155 pounds, so the shoe is perfect for me. Heavier runners, runners with flat or low arches, and over-pronators/supinators should not get this shoe. If you need a shoe to get down to a 3:30 marathon, however, this shoe might be for you. It did it for me.
