The Mizuno Wave Inspire 4 is the only shoe I've had that I've absolutely loved! They are still nice and light, but the fit is different. I have a thin heel and a regular width forefoot, so many shoes slip or don't fit right in one place or the other. The 4 was perfect. The 5 however. . . not so much. They widened the forefoot, so now I'm prone to getting blusters. I have to lace them tighter which makes stitching rub the side of my foot. They do work better with a little thicker sock, but they're still not as good as they were:-(

I've always run in the Adidas Supernova but the Supernovas have been changing so much lately and started to feel too squishy. I love the fit of the forefoot and easy control, so my local running store guy had me try on some new shoes. This was one, and I was blown away. Perfect combination of support, control and cushion for me (I'm 5'7" and about 155 lbs; run 10-15 mi/week). I've had them for about two months now and am really impressed - no blisters and I swear they make me faster ;-)

I just bought my first pair of Mizuno running shoes. We'll see. I liked the way they felt when I ran in them at the shoe store. They laced tight enough for me to feel comfortable.

I loved these shoes when I purchased them--extremely comfortable and no need to break them in. I wore them for the first time in a 5k with great results. Unfortunately, they became worn out within 8 weeks of purchase. The ball of the sole is extremely worn. I am a petite woman and run 10-15 miles per week. My Brooks shoes lasted over a year. I'm very disappointed.

I am relatively new to running and racing and until now, was searching hard for the right shoe for me. I've stopped searching - the Mizuno Wave Inspire is it! They fit my average width, flat feet perfectly. They are very lightweight. I love wearing them for tempo runs, interval training and races. They are supportive enough even for marathons and have also served me well on many a long run. No more trying on shoe after shoe at the running store!

This shoe fit me perfect. It felt great. Yes, there is a but . . . . I experienced the worse knee and hip pain ever. For a stability shoe they are a bit to flexible.

LOVE EM! Roomy in the forefoot but not sloppy. Cushioning is awesome and lasts (5 months so far of 10-18 mi/wk). Very supportive, yet flexible. I wear orthotics, and these shoes accommodate them well.

I am also a fan of the Mizuno Wave Elixers but needed a little more cushioning for my higher mileage months. The Wave Inspire 5 is the perfect lightweight alternative.

These shoes are awesome! They are light weight, snug around the arches and room for the toes to move. I have a wide foot and normally wear the D width size for running. I was given these shoes as a gift and thought there was no way I could run in these but I was wrong. Man oh man do they ever feel great!!

I do not like these at all! What happened to the old ones? The 4 was much better design. these are much bigger in the front so your feet doesn't feel the secure, almost like a s second layer of socks, like the old ones. SO if you have wider front, these are great. I have normal width, maybe even on the wider side.., and it doesn't even fit me! I would really like the older version back. I have always came back to Mizuno, but if they continue making this poor fit design, I'm gonna have to look some where else. :o(

These are amazing! I purchased these from a specialty running store here locally. They are super-light with cushioning in all of the right places!

I have been a big fan of Mizuno but was disappointed with this fit of the shoe. I have a wide foot and the midfoot is a lot narrower in this shoe which caused me pain.

These are a great shoe. I have low arches and struggle with plantar fasciitis pain. I've been through just about every motion control shoe. Then I read in RW that they now recommend more cushioning rather than more stiffness for problems like mine. I bought these to alternate with my Brooks Addiction 8s. These are very light-weight and have nice cushioning. Obviously not as stable as my MC shoes, but so far good enough. The only drawback is that they are warm. They don't seem to breathe as well as other shoes I've had. Also, I didn't realize it, but I ordered a Wide. I'm glad I did. They run tighter than other shoes I've had.

I find the forefoot area much baggier than the previous inspires. I don't think I am going to keep these and instead just go back to the 4s if I can find them.

Correction: the Asics Gel Kayano 14's are listed as being lighter than these. As I own both I can tell you that is completely false - the Mizuno's are significantly lighter.

I already have these from a specialty running store, even though they are apparently not out everywhere yet. I always wore Asics before and am very happy with the Mizuno's. They are very comfortable, cushiony, lightweight and did not require any breaking-in period. That said, I do not believe the weight listed in the product description - I own the Asics Gel Kayano 14's (now my 'walking" shoes) which are MUCH heavier, but the product descriptions are only a few tenths of an ounce different. regardless, they are a great lightweight shoe and I highly recommend for anyone that's a mild over-pronator!
