Superb shoe for racing and fast paced training. Stable in the heel, but it's just right for longer races and not mushy feeling like other lighter shoes!

Such a contrast to my older running shoes with regard to weight. Mizuno always fits like a glove. I require a wider toe box and minimal control from the shoe. ChiRunners will like this lighter, getting-closer-to-but-not-quite-there-yet-minimalist shoe. I heard the Wave 3 Universe are 4 oz!!

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 4 Running Shoe:

I am 5'7" @ 145 lbs with a weekly mileage of around 40-50kms, i have a neutral arch, heel striker, and i overpronate a little. in terms of speed im quite decent and have been running regularly just more than a year.

these shoes are very very light with some cushioning and stability, though i have been spoiled by the cushioning of the adidas supernova sequence 2. you can feel the air breezing through the shoe because of its multiple "vents/ holes"

i test ran it for 13k and felt some discomfort around the 11th km which i think is normal, after running there was no lingering pain, just my feet not used to the new shoe

I would recommend this shoe to other people

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 4 Running Shoe:

So I picked up this shoe in August for a marathon in the fall, can't say enough good things about it. Its a little lighter and less stable than i was used to, I was coming from Saucony Paramounts, and prior to that had been a Brooks Adrenaline and Saucony Omni guy. It definitely cleaned up my running form being lighter and more responsive. Ran a marathon in them, felt great. Very fast light shoe. Pretty durable too.

I love this shoe. As a big and heavy runner (6'-2" and 245lbs), I have been running in various Saucony GRID running shoes for years. I was looking for a lighter shoe with good heel cushioning to take the Army physical fitness test. My 2 mile time dropped 40 seconds. Hooaah!

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 4 Running Shoe:

Trained and raced a marathon in these. They lack the transition feel that I'm used to from Mizuno Precisions, and don't have enough cushion for me, for long distance running, this has lead to increased muscle soreness after long runs, and sometimes during them. Probably an okay shoe for 10K and down.

I have had many Mizuno and I must say, these are one of the best running shoes I've had! They were comfortable, light and fast. I wore them for the first time in a 54 miles run racing a ultra 12 hour and I loved these shoes. I strongly recommend for training or racing.

I loved the precision 8's, but the precision 9's were murder on my toes so i switched to Elixirs. This is a good light shoe, but i don't feel that heel to toe transition of the precisions, and would like just a bit more forefoot cushion. a very minimalist shoe. That said, these feel good right out of the box and I was doing my marathon training runs with no problems right away.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 4 Running Shoe:

This shoe fits right out of the box and has only gotten better so far. I am 48 years old and can not remember not running so I have a lot of miles on my body. It is nice to find a light, cushioned, supportive shoe that is so easy to run in. I run mostly on ditch banks and the occasional paved running path or road and so far these shoes have worked well in both conditions. I have not run over 6 miles at a time but at this distance the support and cushioning was just right for me. Because they are so ligtht I do not expect it to last as long as some shoes have, I will have to evaluate that as it comes but for now I could not be happier.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Elixir 4 Running Shoe:

Niiiiiiice shoe! I received a pair as part of a wear test in November and fell in love with them. Several weeks later . . . still love 'em. They're extremely light, have a good amount of cushioning for such a fast-paced shoe, and are really stable without feeling at all over controlling. This past weekend I ran the Carlsbad half marathon in them and they performed exceedingly well - my fastest time in a few years. As much as I'd like to take all the credit, some has to go the Elixir for being so light. I sometimes alternate them with the Inspire 5 for my longer runs.
