A very nice minimal shoe. This pair is actually comparable to the NB 763s in terms of feel (the Mizunos are slightly more flexible and light). I try to run with a midfoot strike, and this shoe definitely facilitates it, unlike the previous Asics that I had. I'll be watching out to see if the support starts to break down, but after about 40 miles so far, it's too early to tell. Like another reviewer said, the upper is a little high and rubbed a bit on the first few runs, but it doesn't bother me anymore.

Bought these after loving the 8's. The support broke down in less than a month. Am very disappointed in a shoe that is supposed to be for people who need a lot of support.

This shoe has great support and stability. Its also light on cushioning so a cushioning othotic would be ideal for longer runs. Still, a great shoe!

I tried numerous shoes and found this shoe to be supportive and comfortable. I would recommend it.

Horrible shoe! I loved the Wave Alchemy 8, and the 9 is a big disappointment. There is next to no cushoning, but even more importantly, the cushioning under the heal has changed drastically. Before starting my run, it felt like the shoe was cocking my heels outward. About 2 miles into my run, this feeling translated into a huge blister on the inside of my heel. I am very disappointed in these shoes, and now need to look for something new.

I have worn the Alchemys for the last 4 years and am disappointed in this update. The upside is that the shoes are nice and flexible and I feel like they push me onto my toes more. The downside is they have virtually non-existent forefoot cushioning, which starts to hurt the balls of my feet after 10 miles. The Alchemys never had much forefoot cushioning, but the reduction in the 9s is dramatic. In addition, the upper is slightly higher which cases some inner ankle rub. I just snatched up a couple of pairs of 8s I could find online in my size. Its going to be a long year waiting for the 10s....
