Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 Running Shoe: I've been running for over 25 years and average 700-800 miles per year. Needless to say I've worn a lot of running shoe brands and styles but for some odd reason I never tried Mizuno's, until last year. WOW I'm so sorry I didn't try them earlier!! I started with the Wave Rider 15's and loved them so much I just had to purchased again, this time however I purchased the Wave Enigma 2 because my poor old knees just can't pound the pavement like they used to. The Enigma 2 is basically the same shoe as the Raider series except the wave plate is extended to the toe box; this really adds a lot of impact absorption for those of us who land midfoot (we used to call this flat foot back in the day). The shoe is amazing! Light, fast and cool (as in airflow). The shoe is designed in a way so that your heals are locked in, there's no sloppiness, the toe box is wide so there's plenty of room for your toes! Its covered in mesh, your feet will say cool, the upper hugs the top of the foot so again there's no sloppiness, this shoe will not move around while running it's kinda like a second skin. Traction is good, even on wet pavement….FYI not good for running in light snow. Some say the shoe is a little on the stiff side, doesn't flex , I agree with that assessment, however only for the first 8-10 miles, after that initial break in the stiffness is gone. I think a lot of people feel this way (as I did) due in part to the way in which the shoe wraps around and holds your foot, that combined with the extended wave plate. But like I said, put a couple of runs in and their as pliable as butter. I really love these shoes and have nothing bad to say about them! If you like/love the Raider 15/16's but need or want a little more cushion do yourself a favor and buy the Wave Enigma 2!

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 Running Shoe: Waited until I had several good runs on them before I wrote a review. I'm coming off of many years in a name brand, highly recommended, N+ shoe. The Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 blows my prior shoes away. They are far more comfortable, let me knees 'float' better and allow me to run further and faster. Traction on wet asphalt is very good too whereas it was terrible on old shoes. I think I've found a new friend :)

Cons Best Uses Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 Running Shoe: I'm 6'1" and 225 and run about 20 to 25 miles a week, mixture of road and treadmill. Shoes felt stiff and seemed to push my ankles inward (just out of box.) Finished trial run on treadmill, the cushioning was very good (suprising, because felt very hard while walking around) and still seemed to cause slight overpronation for me (but not as much as just walking.) I've tried these because of reviews for new NB 1080 not enough forefoot cushion (loved the old NB 1080.) I'd probably buy these again, but will see if the feeling of overpronation goes away or if it causes problems.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 Running Shoe: Finaly enough cushioning for big athletes, 6'4", 225. Fits great, looks great, runs great. Have used many Mizuno models and this is the best ever.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 Running Shoe: The original Enigma was way too restrictive and tight-fitting for me. This one is lighter, has great mesh for cooling, and delivers good, firm cushioning in both the front and rear.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 Running Shoe: I had to go up a half size in the original Enigma but am back to my regular size 9 in the Enigma 2.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Enigma 2 Running Shoe: I am 5'9", 175lbs, run about 80 miles a week, was running in Wave Rider 15's and loved them, but wanted a little more cushioning in the forefoot. The Enigma 2's are really responsive and have just enough cushioning. You don't feel it until you run in them and once you do, you will never buy a soft cushioned shoe again. I have tried Vomero's and Glycerin's (both way too soft) and nothing beats the Mizuno Wave. Highly recommend them to any neutral runner.
