When my old Nikes started falling apart, I started shopping around for a good pair of lightweight running shoes. I'm the type of person who does a lot of research before buying anything - especially when I'm about to spend some money. Needless to say, I was dismayed at how many high priced, low quality "junk" that was out there wearing famous brand names. After comparing quite a few pairs, I decided on trying out a Mizuno, which I never owned before. This one looked and sounded great on description and had a lot of good reviews - so I bought it. I wasn't disappointed. It looks and feels fantastic! I wore this for pavement running, road running and working out at the gym - absolutely no problems with any type of workout. Prior to purchase, I compared New Balance Minimus, Nike Free, Lunar Flyknit, Lunarglide, and a few other featherweight running shoes including a high priced Merrell, and this one by far is the best! I'm so happy with the purchase.

Longtime Wave Creation fan
This must be my ninth or tenth pair of Wave Creations. I've tried both the Prophecy & Enigma and still prefer this model. Of the Prophecy & Enigma I preferred the Prophecy. I use the Enigmas now only for non-impact activities.
I typically run 20-24 miles a week and run half-marathons a few times a year. I'm 58yo F 5'7" and my average weight ~150. This shoe gives me the comfort & support I need. Due to history of plantar fasciitis I do use inserts (PowerSteps) which combined with these shoes have kept me symptom-free for years now.
As a neutral runner with high arches I have put over 500 miles on each of my last two pairs. I just started with these this week. After the first 10 minutes I totally forgot I had new shoes on and will only have about 20-24 miles on them by the time I run my half-marathon a week from tomorrow.
For me, they are a worhtwhile investment, as I'd like to keep running as long as I can.
Wave Creation Loyalist in Love
This is my 12th pair of Wave Creations. I've worn every generation since 9 and have also tried the Prophecy & Precision 13 among others. These are by far my favorite creations to date. Mizuno seems to have corrected the issue with their last generation of mesh stretching out/easily tearing with a breathable new mesh that also seems to stay cleaner longer. My biggest complaint with this shoe (as well as the prophecy) is the speed at which I wear through the outer heel rubber. It doesn't take me long to get down to the plastic wave plate and as one of the pricier Mizunos available, I wish this didn't happen so quickly. In an effort to reduce my heel-strike (and prolong the life of my beloved creations), I purchased a pair of the Evo Levitas. Switching between these shoes was reccomended by my local Shoe Dog expert. I will review that shoe as well.

Great for neutral runner
I run anywhere from 12 to 25 miles per week depending upon what I am training for and time constraints. Most of my runs are on asphalt, some treadmill. I have a high arch and mostly run neutral. Right foot pronates slightly, left foot supinates, so I HAVE to use neutral shoes. Mizonos that I have used are perfect for neutral runner, with NO inserts. The arch is high enough and the sole hard enough. Not a lot of cushion in these shoes, but a lot of hard support. My only complaint is they are so narrow I could not relax my toes, which i need to do because I tend to lose a lot of toenails--so i pay attention to the toe box. These shoes bruised my fourth toe's nailbed. Weird.

I run 30-35 miles per week; 5'6 115. Perfect heal striker (zero pronation). I've been running in Wave Creation Mizuno for years due its narrow heal box and the ability to tighten the laces over the arch/mid-foot. This model is boxy and not fitted thru the heal and due to the shortened tongue, you can't tighten thru the arch - which is odd as this shoe is made for those with high arches. Mushy and unstable describes the feel. Hopefully they fixed these issues in the new model or time for a new brand.

I'm on my second pair. The first pair wore out in the outside heel area (all the way to the plastic in about 3 months) I contacted the company and they replaced the shoes deeming them defective. Got the 2nd pair and they lasted less than 60 miles of running :(
I'm a 130 lb, neutral runner that has never had this problem expect with this shoe. So disappointed. I"m 3 weeks away from a marathon and don't want to break in another pair of shoes, but I can't run on plastic :(

Better than the 13, without a doubt!
Love the new wider spanning mesh in the toebox area, definitely feels better than the 13 (as width was an issue for me with the previous model). I can't really speak to durability yet, I've only had them a couple months...I am putting about 20-25 miles on per week, so I am just planning to replace them by eoy. I'll stick with the 14 for now! Please Mizuno, don't change them anytime soon.
I've worn every wave creation since 9 and never had a problem. On my second run in my 14's, 4 miles in I felt discomfort in my ankle. By 4.5 it hurt & I quit at 5 hoping my skin was still intact - nope - blisters & some skin rubbed right off! Days without running for them to heal. So very disappointed! Don't know what they changed but they're completely unwearable & I sent them back!
Let me start by saying I think this is a great shoe on the front end. I say that because I ordered my first pair and just shy of my 90 day return limit, the back outside corner had worn down to the plastic. This may have been a defective model or I just run weird. I liked them so much that I just went ahead and ordered another pair. We'll see if it happens again...hope not.
I do most of my working out at the gym with a personal trainer. I spend time on the treadmill and also doing high intensity circuit training. I LOVE these shoes. My nikes wore out so quickly and had no support and were sliding around on the floor everywhere. With these I can jump around and not worry about my knees or slipping. Recommend highly!

NO more IT band problems
I started running 8 years ago at age 41, and struggled with IT band issues. I tried many shoe types. Since I got my first pair of Wave Creation 9s, I train for and run 6-10 half marathons a year, and have never had another IT band problem. The only issue with my new 14s is the gaudy pink/black color offered in the store.
Not for me
I recently tried to switch up my shoes-- going from Asics to these. While they are lightweight, I did not feel the same comfort as I did in my Asics. The Mizunos hurt the outsides of my feet, and my runs were uncomfortable. I switched back to my trusty Asics. I love the new Asics Nimbus in the gray/coral.
enjoy the journey
Love this shoe!
Wore the 13 and loved it. This edition has a bit more cushioning but still has the feel of a shoe that reads the road and remains stable (but not stiff). I use orthotics in other shoes but don't need them in these (for a very high arch).

Feels good to me
I'm on the treadmill or road for 12-20 miles per week and these shoes feel good to me. Arch feels right, toes have room, and I don't completely lose the feel of the surface I'm running on.
Still my fav shoe!
After wearing this shoe over a period of about 10 years, I am still a big fan. I have tried other shoes and always come back to the Wave Creation.
Great running shoes
This is my third pair of wave creations. Great shoe for a neutral runner. Great cushioning. Will continue to purchase these as long as they make them.
I am putting in high mileage training for a marathon. This shoe fits me perfectly. I have to have support. I love them!
I was having problems with my IT band but ever since using these shoes the problem has lessened!
Only Shoe that works for me!
I have plantar fascitis and this is the only shoe that supports my arch properly.

Still happy with my wave creations!!
I use my wave creations for endurance runs -- I never run over 6 miles at a time -- and I wear them to work out in. I don't recommend these shoes for high-impact workouts like plyometrics. I've been wearing the wave creation shoes for five or so years now and haven't found a shoe that comes close! I love how light they are and the breathability. It's all forward motion with these shoes!
