This isn't the most cushiony shoe, but is extremely durable and supportive during long runs. I use this shoe to train and am pleased with the update. Must purchase 1/2 size up. Pros

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: I run around 30+ miles a week, completed a full marathon and training for my next one June 2nd. Was stuck with Nike because of the looks leaving me with some It band pain. I quickly switched over to Mizunos and felt a difference along with some extra stretching. The only somewhat bad part about this shoe is that the heel feels a little stiff but maybe thats what I needed afterall.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: I bought these shoes to primarily wear at the hospital for many long days. So far they have been great. I get a tone of compliments due to the yellow color, but they feel great on my feet as well. I have a hot foot and they stay cool with my RRS drymax socks.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: Just got my new pair of wave rider 16. Very impressed with the fit and comfort. Also have a pair of saucony pro grid 6 which I really like but I can see my new wave riders becoming my favorites!

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: Can't say enough about these. Very responsive, great cushioning both heel and forefoot (I'm a fore foot runner). Colors are a bit out there. Very light weight too. I'm 6'4" 270ish, and these don't bottom unlike the Nike Zoom Vomero, NB 1080V3 and Saucony Powergrid Triumph 10.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: I run as a student athlete at Manasquan High School and needed a pair of shoes that are as durable and effective in all events I do at track and these shoes fit the bill. I couldn't have asked for a better pair of sneakers.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: The Wave Rider 16 feels lighter and more nimble than previous models. It's a very comfortable training shoe for average to high arch heels and low to mid mileage runners.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: I have wide feet and have a hard time finding running shoes that fit comfortably, these are true to size, comfortable and soft.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: These shoes are great!! These are my first pair of Mizunos and I love them. The shoe does have a nice heel to toe transition. I do run faster in these shoes. The cushioning is great but not too much. The shoes are very light too. I highly recommend these shoes. My knees feel great, my legs feel great, my back feels great too, after every run. I run about 3 - 4 times a week between 3.1 - 5 miles for each run, at a pace of 6:45 - 7:30 minutes / mile.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: I've been wearing WRs since the very first model. Had some I loved and some that were only OK. I try other brands and Mizuno models and keep coming back to the WR for my heavy mileage shoes because they always fit me perfectly. This model is much lighter than the WR14/15 and feels it. Very comfortable. I like the bright yellow and you will too. Can't comment on durability yet, but in the past the WR far outlasted anything else I wore. I'd actually rate these at 4-1/2 stars. Good stuff, never mind the overly critical snipes from some users. If you liked the WR before you'll probably also really like the WR16.

Best Uses Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: I owned and loved the amazing Wave Rider 13's, but Mizuno just refuses to go back to a great design I guess. A Mizuno rep I talked to told me the 16 is effectively a new upper on top of the same platform as the 15. Just pick one up in the store and try to flex this shoe, it feels like a pine board. Then do the same thing with almost any other shoe on the wall and you'll feel the difference. It actually felt better than I thought running in it, but I could still feel the clunky-ness that has pervaded this line since the 13. Oh well, maybe next year.

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: This is essentially the same shoe as the WR-15 with lighter materials on the upper and a softer heel counter. However, for me, the forefoot cushioning is still way to firm and almost stiff feeling so I did Not buy this update. Mayb have to try out the new Inspire 9 as an alternative?

Comments about Mens Mizuno Wave Rider 16 Running Shoe: Have run nine marathons and used the WR for the past 5 years. WR-11, 12 and 13 were great. 14 had some problems, and 15 was ok, but took some break-in time. Just tried on the 16s at the Mizuno booth at the Marine Corps Marathon expo (ran the MCM in the WR-15s with no problems). The WR-16 felt like they were forcing my foot "outward", like there was too much rise in the inner side of the heel. Though I've only just tried them on, I don't think I got a good impression and may, after being loyal to Mizuno for years, look for something else. Just my opinion, but I don't think the WR-16 is going to be the long awaited return to the great WR-13 model. I will always recommend Miz shoes because I truly loved them for quite some time. They may also be great for others, but I may pass on this one. Any other past WR wearers have alternative suggestions? I have not worn any other brand for the past 5 years.
