The Wave Rider 16 is a nice update from the 15, weighing in about 1/2 ounce lighter. You can feel the loss of weight immediately upon hitting the pavement. The blueish/pink color is really cute too!

LOVE the color...I got the robin's egg blue color with the hot pink and black. I actually saw these on a woman in the pediatric dentist's office and had to have!
Upon immediate try-on, they felt wider and bulkier than most (I'm used to Asics GT-2160 and 2000s), but I put an extra insert on top of the ones already in there and Voila! Perfect! Now I think of reasons NOT to wear my Asics! Not quite as much cushioning and snug fit as GTs, but great fit!

Finally a running shoe where I don't even think about my feet! I've run two 1/2 marathon's in these shoes and not once thought about my consistent foot pain. I will be buying another pair of these shoes for sure. I wish they came in more colors.

After a considerable amount of time in stabilizing shoes AND orthotics, I got shoe-dog'd. I previously felt a lot of stress in the sides of my ankles from overcorrection, and it was pointed out that I would benefit from a neutral shoe with the orthotic. Why this hadn't dawned on me up to this point, I am not sure. Nonetheless, I am newly in love with my Mizuno Wave Riders. They're BEAUTIFUL (aruba blue and pink, I think?) and extremely comfortable. Bonus, the wide toe-box is comparable to my much-loved Brooks .

Training for my third half marathon. I bought Mizuno wave creation and loved them, but wanted a less expensive second running shoe. Really liked the colors offered and this felt good when I put it on. Cushions great, for a mid foot striker at least. Have some first mtp pain that this aggravates a little, I think because the forefoot is rather stiff. It also took some time to adjust to a slightly higher ankle on this shoe.

I love this shoe. It's a beautiful blue color with a pop of pink so it's super stylish. Also, it's very comfortable. The sole of the shoe, the rubber on the bottom, is thick, but it collapses so gently under my feet when I run. I recently sprained my ankle and the shock absorption is important for me to reduce pain.

Very pretty. Loved the color but needed a good running shoe. My old mizunos were way overdue for a replacement. I am planning on only using these for running. Have used them on treadmill and LOVE the feeling of them, light but cushioned and supportive enough for my running style.

This is my 3rd pair of Wave Riders and my 1st bad experience. Soon after I broke them in I started to have heel pain that I have never had before, my IT issues came back and only after 3 months of wear my lower back, knees and hips are bothering me after long runs. Which has always been my signal to get new shoes. My last Wave Rider 15's lasted 9 months and were great!! No issues at all. So I'm very disappointed! My postural restoration PT suggested the Wave Riders about 2 years ago so I had to tell her about my last experience with the 16's.

I wear these for running outside and for boxing/cardio class. They are great for both! So comfortable and I'm so happy I had a professional size me. I didn't realize that going up a whole size for running shoes would make such a difference.

I bought this shoe based on store reccomendation. It felt great in the store and during my first two "gym" runs, 5 miles and 3 miles. But by the third wear the shoe felt very stretched out and not supportive at all, even after I tried to tie the shoe tighter. Runnning shoes are supposed to last - way more than two runs.

I recently traded in my Brooks for these when Brooks decided to narrow the toe and toe box and I was only getting maybe 300 miles out of them. Although I did have to buy these in a wide, which only came in the pink/green combo, the toe box is great and they feel like heaven running in them. Ive abandoned my Brooks, hopefully I get more than 300 miles out of these!

This is my second pair of Wave Rider 16's. For several years I ran in Asics. Last year, a running store recommend that I try Brooks Defyance or the Wave Rider in place of the Asics that I had been running in for years. On that day I went with the Brooks, but felt certain I would purchase the Mizuno Wave Rider for my next purchase. Well, in November I purchased my first pair of Wave Rider 16's and fell in love with them. When I saw they came in the new lavender color I immediately ordered a second pair. I have even purchased two pairs for my husband. They are so lightweight. I did not feel like I had to break them. They felt great the first run. This is definitely my pick for a perfect neutral running shoe. Mizuno has won me over!

I'm a long-time running who "retired" a few years ago and have decided to re-start by training using Couch to 5K. I started week 1 day 1 with my new Mizunos and it was love from first step. They have just the right amount of cushion, some motion control without me feeling restricted, and they are nice and light.
I have a fairly narrow foot and the AA is just right for me. I have also torn out the stock inserts and replaced them with Superfeet Berry.

This was my first experience with Mizuno, and so far I am 100% satisfied. The fun bright pink color is just a bonus!

I have been wearing the WRs since model 13, I have loved them all. The 15's were my least favorite because they rubbed the back of my heel out of the box, but fortunately after a few runs that went away. I just completed a marathon in my 16's, which covered pavement and trails, and these shoes did not cause me any issues at all. I will note that I do add my own insert, but I have done for other brands as well, so I don't consider that to be a con. The only reason I don't give the shoes 5 stars, is because they wear out a little more quickly than I would like. However, I think my 16's have lasted more miles than previous versions.
