              I've worn Elixirs through model 7 (which I currently run in), and I rarely give much thought to colors or appearance, but this model looks like a badly designed bag of Purina Dog Chow. Will definitely need to look for something else when my Elixir 7s need replacement. It's unfortunate, since they have served me well for a number of years.

                I bought these striclty for races and the occasional tempo run. They are super light and springy with suprisingly good support and cushioning for a "race" shoe. I set a 10K and 10-mile PR the first two times I wore them. I've been a loyal Brooks fan for years, but these might have me looking to Mizuno for my next trainers too.

                      A long time fan of Elixer. Some models get off track--mushy or stiff. But I really like the 8. Great fit across the arch to hold solid on long runs. My go to marathon shoe. Weight makes a big difference in closing miles. Enough protection to keep the road out. Makes me run faster because they are so ugly I want to get out of them. Seriously, the designers must have laughed their way through meetings. If the circus comes to town, I got the footwear. But they sure can run.

                            These are my third pair of Elixir's and I wouldn't switch to anything else. The shoes is extremely light and comfortable. I pr'd a 5k, half and now training for my first full marathon in these shoes. The lightness takes fatigue out of the legs and makes running fun again. Easily cut 10 seconds per mile off of my pace from the lighter weight.
