Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I have been in a shoe limbo since wearing-out my last pair of this shoe. (I had stock-piled upon learning Mizuno's decision to discontinue.)

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I have a narrow food so their "normal" width was perfect for my narrow foot. These are the most comfortable shoes EVER. I wish they did not discontinue them because I have tried pair after pair trying to find something that worked as well as these... I STILL have them after 3 years and wear them occassionally because they are still comfortable on shorter runs but I have too many miles to push a longer run. PLEASE bring these back AND dont change a thing! I have tried 2 different mizuno, 1 saucony, 2 asics, and am not trying brooks and nothing compares to these. I was a sprinter in college and we were sponsored by asics which I had been using up until I started putting long miles on my feet... when I switched to these, I said I would never look for another shoe

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I run on the treadmill five days/over 35 miles a week. These shoes are made for speed but with great support! I also use them to do plyometric exercises as well. Very stylish and comfortable, I get a lot of compliments and questions about them. I'm glad I made the purchase!!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I have been running in the Elixir series for several years, love them, and just had a PR and BQ'd with this shoe. Anyone have any suggestion for comparisons? Need a shoes with wider toe back, but snug on ankle.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I've been wearing this model for at least 5 years as an endurance performance shoe. I've trained for and run several marathons in the Mizuno Wave Elixir and have never had a problem. I just ordered the Elixir 8. When other models seem to change a bit each year with fit and performance the Mizuno Elixir has been very reliable each year. I can count on them fitting perfectly each time I order them. The only bad part about them is that they tend to wear down quickly since they are so lightweight.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I haven't used these shoes enough yet to attest to their durability but they are even lighter weight & even more comfortable than my last pair of Mizuno running shoes, which is saying a lot because I loved those shoes. I am really looking forward to my next set of fall races in these shoes.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I cannot get enough of this shoe! I PR at Boston this year with this awesome shoe!!!!! I didn't really love the pink color, but since coming out w/ the blue/orange, I'm swooning!!!! It's so lightweight. It's so flexible. Note: I have always had issues w/ pronation (I actually wear an orthotic in the shoe). It's the lightest show I have ever worn and it makes me feel fast and awesome!

Best Uses Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: Have been wearing Mizunos for years, to include even my softball cleats. I love the Elixir 7, had just bought 2 pairs when the 8's came out. I was training for Ironman Texas and thought I would use the 8's for the big day. Did 3 long training runs 18-22 miles and threw them in the closet. They rubbed my ankles, gave me blister on my achilles; my feet ached for days. Ironman Texas was awesome...with my Elixir 7's. Oh please bring them back!!!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I participate in many Fundraising Walks in cluding the Avon Walk (39.3 Miles) and each year it is a true challenge to find a good fit. I should have a motion control but this year my shoe had a bad rubbing design as if too small for the shoe itself. I have a slighly wide foot, but not wide enough to be wide but in most other shoes normal is too snug. I tried these and to my surprise I loved them and ordered a second pair to make sure I had them for a while to trade off. These are sooooo lite weight and because the design on the side does not wrap around the side I don't feel any rubbing at all and the comfort is just right. I still wish for Motion Control but these are for sure the next best thing. Only design flaw could be a personal flaw. I get a slight (really slight) rubbing on my right ankle for the shoe being a little high. I could have a low ankle however I never had this problem before so it is what it is but it is't enough to really worry about or I would not have ordered a second pair.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I adored these from the very first run. I've been rotating through three pairs of running shoes for a coupe years, and my faves - the predecessors to these - were completely shot. I was bummed when I saw the color choices.... I like loud colors, but these are LOUD. I got them and another set of mizunos, tried them once, and it wasn't even a question. They are super light ad springy. Made me run 8 miles right out of the gate, even though I was just "testing" them. I'm actually more of a neutral runner, so I find myself supinating just a bit in these, but they're so amazing I still feel great. Plus, the color is actually a bonus. If you're going to wear ridiculous shoes, you'd better run fast.... And they definitely help you do that.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: These shoes are so awesome! They are lightweight yet they have a perfect amount of cushion. I use them for my long run days and my races. I had the Wave Elixer 7's and those were needing to be replaced. The new Elixer 8's are even better!! I think they are true to size. I always order a 1/2 size up from my regular shoe size and they are perfect. (Make room for swelling) Fun colors and wonderful comfort. I am training for my first marathon and they are still nice and comfy with the long distance training I am doing. Can't say enough good things about them!!!!!
Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: Not quite enough room in the toe so these are going back - I'm afraid to order even a half size larger though, these fit complete differently than my last pair of Mizunos.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I bought these shoes so I can start training for a half marathon. I wanted something light and bright in color so it keeps me uplifted when I start getting tired! I bought custom insole from foot balance and after running 3 1/2 miles I was so happy that my feet weren't bothering me!! I have plantar fasciitis on my right foot and that wasn't bothering me after my run!!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Elixir 8 Running Shoe: I have been wearing the Wave Elixir for six editions. Of all of them, the Wave Elixir 8 is my favorite. They are lightweight and fast. I wear them for my marathon training and races. For such a light shoe, they are pretty durable, and seem to hold up a lot better than other shoes I have tried. Not that I guy my shoes for what they look like, but the color scheme for this shoe is pretty fun! You won't be able to miss me with these on!
