I've had several trail shoes before but never any this light. It's nice to run trails with great support, traction, and not feel weighed down by my shoes. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: Primarily a distance runner, I'm a huge Mizuno fan and wear this brand alone when training for marathons. I'm newer to trail running, but I had no doubt that I would love the Wave Kazan's (and I was right)! These shoes do not disappoint and are perfect for hitting the trails! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I ran in the Wave Ascend before, but really enjoy this new model. I love how the upper and fit on the Wave Kazan feels more similar to the road running Mizunos I currently wear (think Wave Sayonara & Wave Rider). However, it provides great grip and traction for the trail making it a rock star addition to the Mizuno line. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I bought my first pair a year ago, and as long as I can this will be the first shoe I will choose. Have gone on to my second pair this year and the fit comfort and style haven't changed. LOVE IT. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I've had these about a year (I think it was the first version). They are holding up great and perfect for trail running, hiking, mountain biking when using platform pedals (good grip) etc. These have replaced my hiking shoes except for on the most bouldery backpacking treks where a pack makes additional ankle support necessary. Mizuno is one of the only brands that fits my narrow heal and I love that I have been able to find a Mizuno replacement for my trailrunners and bulkier hiking shoes! I wear a size 7 in street shoes and always end up in a 7.5 in running shoes (Mizuno is no different). Pros

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I loved the Mizuno Wave Ascend, it was an excellent trail runner! Something went wrong in the design department between the Ascend and this Kazan. This is sort of a hybrid trail shoe/ running shoe and not a great specimen of either. The forefront feels like there is no rock plate at all. It has limited stability on uneven terrain. The minimal toe protection is a friction point. It is light which is good. Lugs seem sufficient for traction in mud (we are getting no rain here so hard to tell). But I would rather have a slightly heavier trail shoe with more protection, this is more of a road running shoe.
Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I bought these shoes for my cross-country season. They work great on trails (dry or snowy) with minimal or no slip. My one complaint is that (although it might just be me) the material was easy to create holes in. After one season I found that a hole was forming on the top, right above my big toe. I also miss the off-center laces and tongue present in last year's Wave Riders. Pros

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: Love Mizuno and love these trail running shoes. The treads are great and the shoes are light.
Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: There are so many great things about this shoe. It is one of the most comfortable running shoes that I have ever owned. The traction is fantastic and they are incredibly light. I transition from pavement to gravel to dirt trail, and I think the shoe transitions well. Pros Cons Best Uses
Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: The trails that I run on are a mix of dust, dirt, big rocks and small, loose stones, with lots of hills. The last trail shoe I'd used was the Ascend. The Kazan feels like a more protective, slightly beefier shoe than the Ascend. That doesn't mean it's stiff. Right out of the box this was very comfortable. For those who have used multiple Mizuno shoes, the Kazan fits much more like the Wave Runner than the Ascend. It runs a little longer and a little narrower. For me, this was a better fit overall. It has just the right amount of cushioning but still allows a good feel for the trails. The tread held on well in the loose stuff but didn't grab on rocks or roots. In other words, it worked great and I will definitely be choosing it over the Ascend when these have to be replaced.
Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I LOVED these trail shoes. They felt good, had a great grip, but after a while felt tight in my toe box. Overall I would definitely recommend them! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: These are hands down by far my favorite trail shoes. My normal route running goes from paved to trail and the Kazan performed amazing on both. I loved that while running on pavement I didn't feel like I was wearing a trail shoe, but on trail I didn't feel like I was wearing a road shoe. It was amazing. Great all-terrain and super light weight! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: During my first run in the Wave Kazan’s I was immediately able to notice the additional stability that they provide. They have a good amount of extra cushion but don't make your feet feel like they are weighed down. They make for a super-smooth ride over rocky dirt paths. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: These are my first pair of Mizuno shoes and I'm hooked - lightweight, stable, adjusts well to any terrain, fit comfortably, smooth roll with each step, enough space in the toe box, fits my narrow feet well, and the ankle support is solid. I love them! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I have been searching for the perfect blend of a trail running shoe that can also be a hiking shoe. THIS IS IT! The Wave Kazan provides flexibility and is lightweight allowing me to feel the terrain under my feet... while protecting my feet from the elements. I am able to grip the various terrain under me without slipping. This is my go to shoe when running on various terrains and out on the trail. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I received these shoes as part of a campaign and I can honestly say they are the best trail shoes I've ever worn. They were lighter than anything else and still maintained the same feel that the other Mizuno shoes have. I loved the snug heel cup (I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis if I have the wrong shoes) and the toebox had plenty of room for the feet to expand when they swell. As someone who doesn't often wear trail shoes very often, the flat bottom was very noticeable but I didn't feel like they lacked support. I usually wear the Mizuno wave Inspire and these are a great addition to my shoe rotation. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: These shoes make a great update from the trusty Ascend shoe. The midfoot grooves really helps the sole adapt to terrain, which is a significant improvement. Definitely worth checking out! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I love that these shoes are not only supportive, but light weight! They give the runner stability and confidence when running on trails. I never feel like I'm about to fall. Great traction from the bottom of the shoe, plus they're gorgeous! I love the blue/yellow color combo. Full review on grabyourkicks.com. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: Lightweight, great terrain transition, comfortable fit, fits true to size, amazing support and grip. If running on a trail you definitely want a trail shoe, I had no idea what a difference it made until I got these. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I am absolutely loving these for both trail running and also light hiking. The bottoms are incredible grippy (obviously a technical term), and I love how flexible they are as well, thanks to the x-design of the soles. They're much lighter than comparable trail shoes, which helps to make me feel nimble while wearing them. These are my new favorites! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I love that they are lightweight enough for starting a run on a paved road or fire road, and then transition easily to technical trail terrain. They grip rocky surfaces incredibly well and yet I feel my feet are protected from feeling every single little sharp rock or twig. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: These shoes were amazing. I never thought there was a difference between trail shoes and road shoes but there sure is. These are fantastic and I recommend them to everyone. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I didn't think I could love another Mizuno the way I already loved my Wave Ascend 5's, but I love this even more so (shhh, don't tell my Ascends). These make my feet so happy, thank you! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: Easily one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever slipped into, its heel stabilizing Wave Technology has done wonders for my daily trek at noon (I cannot believe it is a mere 8 ounces!) My running does take me on varied terrain and the Wave Kazans managed to adapt to each due to their decoupled X-groove midsole and X-lugh outsole. The superior design and all-embracing versatility of the Kazan makes it clear how commited Mizuno is to aiding trail runners to their personal bests no matter the terrain. Train running requires lightweight shoes that will still provide adequate protection for our feet and I was thrilled that the Kazan provides both! Pros

Best Uses Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: This shoe was cool looking, felt great on and was nicely supportive, even though it was lightweight. I would have kept it had I not had to wear a turf plate inside the right shoe. it would have never fit. the shoe was perfect lengthwise and arch wise, but on the narrow side at the arch. I could really feel the X that was described in the description and the X is where I needed to put my insert. Had I not had foot surgery and needed my insert I would have loved this shoe.
Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: This shoe handles so well on all kinds of surfaces..It's flexible and responsive and light enough to wear on long runs! Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I had forgotten what a difference a trail specific shoe makes on the trails. Took my new Mizuno Wave Kazan's out today and was really happy with the results. They held up to the rough and hilly terrain and muddy spots. The traction was just what I needed for the trail. Today was the first time I ran in them and they did not seem to need any "break in" time. An added bonus, the design and colors are awesome. I look forward to logging more trail miles in these. A true trail shoe; if you run soft surface this shoe should be in your collection. Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Kazan Trail Running Shoe: I have to admit I am far more of a road girl than a trail runner, but when i do get out and run on trails, there are a few key things I want from my shoe: good traction and stability without being rigid. The Kazan is excellent for both. Since I am just recovering from knee surgery, I didn't get to fully test it's limits on navigating hilly trails or very technical surfaces (didn't seem smart for my knee, regardless of a great shoe). I did take it over plenty of roots and sandy passes on the trail, and they worked great. I would say the Kazan is definitely more of a trail specific shoe than a road to trail transition shoe. I ran a couple miles of road to and from the trail I was going to, and it felt a bit cumbersome for getting up on my toes going uphill on the road. But, the rubber has a great grippiness to it, even on slick pavement, and the lugs are good for aggressive traction on sand or loose dirt trail. I run in the Wave Inspires for everyday training, and with trail shoes I am always a bit cautious about having enough support because most trail shoes tend to be built on a neutral last, but I did not have any stability issues or pain running in the Kazans. Overall it was a great run and I would recommend it for a trail runner for sure.
