Good shoe but not durable

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

I have had this shoe for several months now and run no where as much as I used to (10-12 miles/week, sometimes less) but I found myself having the same issue as the other reviewers with its durability. It was great for the first 4-6 weeks but then the support just wasn't there anymore.

I previously had the inspire 9s, which were wonderful, trained and ran the Philadelphia marathon in them, and lasted several months afterwards. I bought the 10s but the construction was odd, a piece of material at the base of the laces rubbed against my toes and gave me a horrendous blister. It's a shame that the construction and durability have not been consistent because I have a narrower foot with low arches so the general fit of Mizunos is perfect for me.

Bottom line, the Mizuno Inspire 11 is a good shoe if you don't mind replacing your shoes less than the standard 500 miles.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

The shoe is good, but after running in them for about 3 months, I started to get holes on both sides of the toes on both shoes and the bottoms started to ware out. They are actually really good shoes. They have just enough arch support and just enough cushion for short runs, long runs, and hard workouts. They do run smaller than other shoes, but I have some-what narrow feet so that didn't bother me.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

I wore these for a marathon, after getting injured due to the wrong shoes half way through the training season. I wore them for my 21-miler straight out of the box because I had no other choice, and they were awesome. I healed during tapering and was able to run! They are great for flat feet, but still very lightweight.
Only issue is how quickly they seem to run out. 250 miles feels like their max, at least for me with 100% road running.

    Love 'em!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

I typically run around 20-25 miles/week and have 225 miles on the shoes, and they are awesome.

When I first got them, I was switching from a high-stability sneaker (Brooks Ravenna 4) back to a lower-stability one (formerly, I had only ever run in the Mizuno Wave Rider and LOVED them). I immediately liked that these shoes weren't totally loaded down with cushioning - they are not clunky. I have had issues with my lower back in the past and had recently started experiencing some discomfort in my knees as well, but the Inspires have provided me an appropriate amount of cushioning for my needs.

I tend to pronate on my right foot, and both my physical therapist and the guy who checked the shoes out at the store noted that this sneaker looked great both walking and running on both feet. We were having a lot of trouble finding a shoe that did that!

When I first started wearing the shoe, I thought the cushioning was a little... sparse? Hollow? Wasn't my favorite. Now, after having broken them in, they are a DREAM! They are so comfortable and have provided the perfect amount of cushioning and support. My knees and back feel great. I am buying another pair now!

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

I've been using the Wave Inspire 10s for almost a full year now (I own 4) and absolutely loved them. When the new Wave Inspire 11s came out I immediately ordered a pair and when I got them in, I was incredibly frustrated. For one, I toe box for the regular width (I'm always a regular), was so small! I ended up having to order a pair of the wide fits and they were also too wide. Trying to make ends meet, I started using different socks just so that my socks wouldn't bunch up. I've been using these shoes for over 2 months now and the shoe never got any less stiff or more comfortable.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

I have a long narrow foot and I absolutely loved the 9s, they fit like a glove. I skipped right over the 10, I had high hopes that the 11 was going to win me over but alas, they did not. When I opened the box I thought for sure they had sent a larger size, not only are they just generally bigger but the toe box is huge. I found them rubbing in various spots as well. If I were to give these a second chance I would probably go down a half size.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

I liked the Inspire 9s and 10s. This shoe is a nice combo of all the goods in both those. They did take about 30 miles to get good an comfortable (less than a week of runs). There seemed to be a lot of padding around the ankle- not uncomfortable, just bulky at first. The shoes are very comfortable. Breath well and are responsive. Love the colors too.
With that said, I am really disappointed that I am already replacing the pair I have after 220 miles. I run about 35-40 miles a week. I'm not a heavy runner either (either in weight or foot strike). Granted it is winter in New England and the salt and snow beats up shoes a little faster. Mizuno over all seem to wear out faster since the mid sole changes. The foam just doesn't hold up like the older versions. The top of the shoe is in great shape- no holes or obvious wearing in any one area. In fact the shoe looks great and still feels pretty good except for the quarter size spot in the middle of the forefoot that is leaving my foot painful after any run more than 10 miles. This shoe would be a definitely 5 star if it would last until 300 before painful feet.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

The Inspire 9 was my go to running shoe. I absolutely loved them. I ran several half marathons and road races in them. Then the 10 came along. It felt awesome for the first 40--50 miles, then they basically bottomed out. It was like the footbed sank and the top of the inside hit the bottom of my ankle to the point where I literally could no longer run in them because they hurt. I was anticipating the 11s. Unfortunately, they're even worse than the 10s. Not only does the top inside scrape against the bottom of the ankle, the toe box is enormous. I've always liked the larger toe box in Mizunos, but this borders on ridiculous. The shoe in general iss huge. My regular size flopped around on my foot like clown shoes. I'm so disappointed - guess I've got to give up on this shoe.

Comments about Womens Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 Running Shoe:

I have flat feet according to my podiatrist so getting a shoe that doesn't bother me but still allows for some flexibility is a ridiculously annoying process. I've tried SO many different shoes over the years...nikes, asics, new balance, brooks...with custom orthotics, super feet inserts, etc. They have all gone through half marathons, marathons, triathlons, etc. I tend to not use them for walking unless I'm breaking them in. So far mizuno wave inspires have been the best sneakers for me. I've been using these new ones for several weeks now, and my legs feel great. I haven't put my super feet inserts into them just yet because they are so comfortable already. The brooks were alright but man, I felt like an old lady wearing them plus they were super heavy. It was like wearing weights on my feet. My feet also could just not get used to them. I would get blisters immediately despite using body glide and special socks plus my feet didn't hit the ground well for my gait (I have a mid to forefront strike). I had the mizuno wave inspires 9 a while back and those were great but couldn't find them after they discontinued the model. The 10s were ok, but they wore down really quickly. I'm also partially bias towards this new model because the color is my FAVORITE EVERRRRR.

I love Wave Inspire 9. Love. So when the Inspire 10 came out, I was excited for them. It only took one run to hate them. What in the WORLD had Mizuno done to my wonderful shoes?

Thankfully, Mizuno listened to the complaints and the Inspire 11 is much MUCH better than the 10. I was hesitant but after 3 runs, my feet are happy. Per a local shop, Mizuno designed the Inspire 11 to be more like previous versions. I can tell there is better cushioning.

                Don't hesitate :)
