I don't get attached to shoes, but I was deeply upset when my dog out of nowhere chewed up my 10+ year owned Sights; I was so happy to research and find them still being made and not "new and improved". They are primarily a casual outdoor shoe: light hiking, all-day outdoor festivals etc. but I also cheat them for office casual days (depends on how casual you can go given the Vibram outsoles which are moderately rugged tread). I love them because they form to my feet as if custom shoes and have been superbly comfortable and cushioning; absolutely my go to shoes for any extended "on my feet" activities and air travel. If you are looking for dedicated heavy hiking shoes, keep looking but for versatile casual "multi-use" put these on your short-list.
