Very pleased. Very different feel from my Nikes b/c they are wider. Like them. They are helping me run my fastest practice times even though they are one of heavier shoes I own (10.6 oz) Comments about Womens New Balance 901 Running Shoe: I really love perfomance trainers and the 900's that preceded these were, in my mind, the best ever. Compared to the 900's, I found the 901's slightly dissapointing. The cushioning isn't as good for the same weight and a few tweaks made to the design didn't really improve the shoe. If anything, the tweaks detracted from what was a great design. Lastly, they made them even shorter this time! So, ordering the same size as the 900's didn't work and I ended up with 1/2 size to small. Why can't a 9 be a 9 all the time? Comments about Womens New Balance 901 Running Shoe: Nice fitting. Light as expected but not as flexible as NB900. Comments about Womens New Balance 901 Running Shoe: Absorb on the outside of the heel is so soft, that my foot does not even decelerate until the big second density medial side hits the road, then it decelerates hard and forces the forefoot to slap down. I dont like the heel construction,it is a mess the forefoot fit is pretty good, my ankles hurt from the slapping after 1 short run. I would not recommend and will return Comments about Womens New Balance 901 Running Shoe: I am an avid NB900 fan (having switched over from Mizuno Mavs), and I was skeptical of the "updated" 901 (I am skeptical of updates in general--*loved* the ASICS 2070 and 2090, can't use the 2100; go figure). However, I must say that NB seems to have done it right--a bit more forefoot cushion than the 900 (needed) and the weight seems about the same. I will agree with two other posters--these shoes need to be "broken in" (unusual these days) and the heel might be a bit soft for heel-strikers; mid-foot strikers (such as myself) should have no problem. One of the joys of this shoe and a differentiator--if you can appreciate it--is the LOW mid-foot to heel ratio. This shoe will let you blow your achilles if you want to, so, make sure that this is what you want. For me (low arch, wide toes, flexi foot, some mild pronation, light weight, reasonably quick) this shoe is perfect. Comments about Womens New Balance 901 Running Shoe: I'm a college runner running about 50 to 70 miles a week right now. I'm 6'2'' 155lbs. The first week in these I didn't like them but after a week in them they broke in and now i have no problem with them at all. I find them extreamly comfortable. I just got done with a 10 mile run running a little less them 7 minute pace shoes didn't even feel like they were on. If your looking for a nice fast shoe this is it. I also recommend the 833 this is also a very light fast shoe. The 901 seems like it is going last alot longer then the 833 though Displaying reviews 1-6 Your Help Is HereShop with confidence knowing your team of Fit Experts is waiting to answer all your questions.
