Comments about Womens New Balance 881 Running Shoe:

No longer able to find the 856s I switched to Asics and tried the Nike Pegasus, developed horrific shin splints and IT band syndrome. After rehab I decided to give these a whirl and love them. Very flexible, and cushioned hopefully I stay pain free!

Comments about Womens New Balance 881 Running Shoe:

I have R.A., and it does not take much for my feet to get to me. In these shoes I can walk, run, and stand all day and still think about getting around with little to no pain in my feet.

Comments about Womens New Balance 881 Running Shoe:

These shoes have been great for me; actually a "cure" for Morton's Neuroma, which almost made me stop running for a while. They have a very wide and deep toe box, so nothing squishes those nerves.

I love these shoes!!!! My wide feet are comfortable and the shoes fit without being too tight. Loads of cush for plus size running. I could stand all day in these. My favorite shoes ever.

The best runnig shoes I've ever owned. I have very "boxy" feet, and these have an extremely wide toe box, while not being too loose on the heel.

Comments about Womens New Balance 881 Running Shoe:

The 881 represents New Balance's continuing tinkering with its cushioning shoe in the SL-2 last, for runners with wide forefeet. Some of that tinkering has been good, some bad, but overall the 881 seems to be a very good shoe so far. To give you some background, I originally fell in love with NB's 878. The next version, the 879, was a disaster. Hot to run in and not at all durable. The 880 was a little better, but they changed the shape of the shoe last, so that it was quite a bit tighter, even with an EE width instead of a D. Now comes the 881. It still has the slightly tighter feel of the 880's, but after 20 miles or so, the shoe has broken in nicely, and I am much happier with this version than anything I've had since the 878. I have also tried Asic Cumulous, but overall, I think the NB 881 wins out. Not a perfect shoe (it needs more mesh and less composite), but very good indeed.

Better than the 880 - it has more bounce. Very cushiony and the toe room is great
