Cons

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

The best shoe I've purchased so far.I'm not a light weight walker/runner (+ 250 lbs.)so the cushion really absorbs the impact. It it does feel a bit stiff in the beginning, but be patient, it does take some time for heel and sole to loosen up, and when it does it's one of the most comfortable shoes around. I would definitely recommend them to someone on the larger size...Big "T"

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

I have purchased 3 pairs of these shoes. I run 30 to 50 miles per week and have run one marathon and two half marathons in these shoes. Other than a marginal insole, I have been very pleased with these shoes.

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

At first I was concerned with how little cushioning there was with this shoe. My first few runs seemed almost jarring compared with softer Adidas and Saucony shoes I have worn previously. But, as the miles wore on, these shoes broke in beautifully. They are now the best I've ever used, and they won't wear out as fast either. My advice...if they seem stiff and cushionless, just give them time...

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

Based on everyone's post, you either lov'em or you hat'em. I've tried it for 1 week now about 10 miles, feels stiff, doesn't feel real cushiony(?) but feels stable, and like the guy said below, give it some time to break in, that's why I'll take the middle of the road and give it 3 stars.

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

I made a mistake abd bought these for their style. They are not a running shoe. Gave me the worst shin splints of my life and broke down after very little milage. If you live to run stick with real running shoes. Not these imitations.

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

Not what I would consider a "running" shoe. More for show than for execution. As others have mentioned, very little forefoot cushioning and I now have ankle pain where once there was none. Very inflexible. Was hoping this would be a nice move from the 82* series, but it is nothing like that. Will try the 1061 instead.

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

Definitely not for me. I made it a mere 1.5 miles before taking them off and quitting my workout. They caused me severe shin splints - never had trouble before. I had been running miles and miles in five year old 462's with no pain. They are like running in cowboy boots. My buddy likes his, but he's 6'5" 250 lbs - I'm 180 lbs and apparently not heavy enough to make them budge.

Comments about Mens New Balance Zip 8505 Running Shoe:

I run 4-6 days a week and have been looking for something to replace my addiction to the asics gel landreth.
I have run 6 times in the zip on pavement and dirt, and I am pleased so far. I had some ankle pain that is now non-existent. The shoes had good bounce, but they are not super cushiony.
Definately do not get these shoes for trail running, they have a cutout in the back of the heel that would be very dangerous.
