I'm a true Asics Kayano fan, but gave these a try just so I can alternate between 2 different styles. It does the job on both long and short runs. Satisfied with this pair.

I love this shoe. I did the 3 Day in November, and wore these shoes for two of the 3 days. I wore the 1224 for only one day and, although I trained in both, the 1223 was so much more comfortable...1224 gave me heel blisters...I'm so glad I can still buy the 1223!!

I'd ran in NB's years ago but the past 3 years I've been an asics girl. I alternated between the Kayano & Nimbus depending on length of runs, but have had problems with the fit up the uppers on both recent models (I like having all my toenails, thanks!).
So today I did what you're never supposed to. I wore these, straight out of the box, for a half marathon this morning. The cushion didn't feel as "plush" as asics but was still more than adequate and my feet felt great through all 13.1 miles! No blisters, no knee pain and I ran a pretty fast half! I'm a fan!

I am a 220 lb female w/ plantar fasciitis and these shoes have seen me from couch potato to 5k. I am currently up to about 15 miles of training a week. I have had a few aches and pains along the way but I am a big runner so what do you expect. These shoes have kept me running with few days off (to nurse sore knees and calves), so two thumbs up!

I love these shoes! I've worn various NB shoes through the years and these are by far the best. They are supportive yet flexible with excellent cushioning. I'm confident that these shoes will get me through the next few months of marathon training.

After some disappointment with the recent Asics Gel Kayanos (namely, the 13's), I decided to give New Balance another try. I'm not sure why a good wide-width is so difficult to find. The 1221s were decent but rigid; not the best marathon shoes for me. This update (1223) has quite possibly the smoothest heel to toe transition I've ever experienced. Stable and supportive, but well-cushioned and pliable at the same time. NB has won me over.

Great shoe if you need a wide toe box and snug heel. No slippage. Also wears well; I am a heavy heel striker and usually break down shoes fast, but not with this shoe.

Finally!
9 miles - no shinsplints!
Love the way my heel is cradled, no slippage. Toe box is plenty wide. I was a closet over pronator, I guess, and this show fixed me right up.

In my age, I have developed wider feet, and as a result have had difficulty finding running shoes that don't give me blisters. The last pair I had, (Nike), created a bunionette. These shoes are the most comfortable, fitting shoes I have ever worn, and I've been running for 29 years!!!
Recommend them to all my running friends.

Love the shoe. I was so bummed that Sacouny changed the hurricane 8 with the 9. The 9 was way too wide. This shoe fits my heal great. I have had no issues with blisters. Love it.

Yuck! These shoes are the worst. Blisters no matter what you do. After wearing them for only several runs (one 20 miler), I'm going back to Saucony--I never should have left!

I ran in the 1221 with no problems. The 1222 was horrible. It was wonderful to hear about the 1223 coming out, but that's about as wonderful as it gets. Blister was a word I just heard about, never experienced. Well, the 1223's changed that. The blisters I got made up for nevering having them. This shoe is awful! After wearing New Balance for years, I am now looking at either Asics and Brooks.

Great shoe. I love how it hugs the heels but the toebox is so wonderfully wide! Amazingly comfortable.

these shoes felt like slippers UNTIL the end of mile one.....I ended up with 4 big blisters and had to cut my run short. I put in ALOT of miles and use good socks and even had the glide stick with me that I applied twice. I've got to blame the shoe.

What an amazing update from the 1222. I loved the smooth transition from heel to forefoot, the cushiness and the flexibility and I'm a small runner! And this is the first shoe that I've every tried on (millions) that employs a design accounting for your calcaneus being on the lateral part of your foot! Great Job New Balance. You hit it the bulls-eye!
