Worst running shoe I ever wore. Had knee problems just a few weeks into running with them. Only wish the 1010s were still around, the 1011s are nothing like them.

beware doesnt fit similar to 1010 11 in 1010 should be 11.5 in 1011 since 1010 was size half size up to begin with,, so size up a full size from your normal shoe .. in my opinion

6'4" 255lbs running 8 to 32 miles a week. Wonderfull shoe for the big runner will take the impact but only for about 150-250 miles after that shoe breaks down. Last 25-75 miles longer than 1010.

6'1", 187, flat feet and a bad ankle. These are my second pair of New Balance shoes, following a pair of 817s. The 1011s control my over-pronation nicely and provide good cushioning -- not as cloud-like as the Nike Tailwinds I ran in and got injured in --without feeling overly stiff or restrictive. I've put ~100 miles on them, including three long runs. I'd buy another pair, no question.

This shoe is perfect for me. Controls over-pronation and seems lighter than most MC shoes. I do wear Sof Sole inserts to absorb additional impact. I hope the 1012 is a suitable replacement.

I really liked the shoe, had some knee pain in other shoes, but went away since using this shoe. My biggest complaint, soles completely worn out in under 200 miles. I will try another brand for my next running shoe.

These shoes are great for the big fellas. I'm 6'3" 390 lbs and these are the only kicks I buy. There awesome for alleviating knee and lower back pain, which is something I had on a regular basis while wearing other sneakers. I'm about to buy my 4th pair, just kinda upset there now endangered. Hopefully, NB is just coming out with a newer version; and some different colors would be cool also

I'm 6' and 215lbs and have flat feet. I have also had problems with ITB and plantar fasciitis. I run anywhere from 8 to 30 miles per week and have struggled finding a shoe that works for me. I found these shoes and they have performed great. None of the knee and foot issues have been bothering me. I think they have better cusion than Asics Evolution, and are not as rigid as Brooks Beast. Of course everyone is different and what works for me might not for you, so get to a store and try them out for yourself.

I'm 6'4 and 190 lbs. These shoes don't cut it for me. They feel flimsy compared to the previous generation of the shoe. If you're a big person with flat feet I would pass on these.

A very good shoe. I am 150 LBS and run 25+ miles weekly, I have logged 150 miles on these and just love the way they help my flat feet cope with all the punishment! Great Shoe I am getting another pair just incase NB gets rid of the design.

Love these shoes, really solid, great cushioning and support for my average over-pronation. I'm 50 Y.O., 160 lbs and I need a soft ride and I got what I needed here.

Men's New Balance 1011 is one of my favorite shoes ever. I love it not because of its color but because of its unique design. This kind of shoes is really nice for those who loves running. I have plan to buy one of this shoes.

I had the old NB-857s and they were comfortable. I wore them for several years in fact. I tried these and the Beast (I always order 2 pr.). I like the wide toes in the NB shoes but, these shoes hurt where my arch is supposed to be and my heel feels irritated. I jumped back into my Beasts.

I am a half marathon runner @ 6'2" and 274 lbs. I like running in Brooks Beast, but love running in New Balance 1011. At first these shoes were stiff, but after breaking them in, they feel great. Looking foward to getting another pair soon!

Tue, March 17,2009:
I am a new runner and a large guy 6"4" 270 lbs. High, but flexible arch and over pronater. In the past could never run because I would develop knee pain and shin splints. I have neither with this shoe. However, after increasing my running distance from 2 miles to 4-5 miles per run I developed blisters along my arches and some mild pain in my forefoot. I went back to the store and was told the shoe was already worn out. I kept a log and had less than 100 miles on the shoe. I have tried 2 other pairs of shoes since but with more problems(Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5 = had to stop running after 3 miles due to pain in feet, knees, and muscles & NB 859 = blisters in arch and mild knee pain). So in consideration of my other 2 experiences I have to give the 1011 4 stars, taking away one for durability.

Shoe feels real good. It has a good cushion. I bought 1 pair & ran in it 2 times & I bought 2 more pair. Everytime I find a shoe that is good they quit making them. Well satisfied

Sun, November 30,2008:
These shoes are clearly superior to the NB1123. They are more supportive, and better cushioned. Think of them as the neutral 882 shoes, but with all the features of a motion control shoe. They do the job very effectively. I have both 1123 and these and these are definitely better shoes and better fitting as well.

Wed, November 19,2008:
ate this shoe, doesn't come close to the NB 1010. Really sorry that shoe is being discontinued. I should have bought 100 pairs while I had the chance. Ran for years in 1010 without an injury, just 2 weeks running in the 1011 and I'm facing my worst knee pain in over 25 years of running. That will be last NB shoe I buy, looks like I am going to have to turn to the Brooks Beast.

I'm a big guy 6'2 220 with flat feet and these 1011's work for me, I would get another pair.

I am 53, 6 ft.,190 lbs. and have been running for 32 years, 30 miles per week. This was no substitute for the 1010. Felt like someone beat my heels with a baseball bat.

This is a great shoe. I find the cushioning very good. I have a pair of Pearl Izumi SyncoGuide II's which I like but I can really feel the difference when I run in these shoes. I also have NB 858 which I like ok but not as well as these.

super support, great cushioning. great forefoot cushioning as well.

Wed, July 23,2008:
Sorry, I don't care for these shoes. It seems that I can't get a New Balance shoe that feels like it has any forefoot cushioning. the 857 was better but still not good enough. The 1011 and the 758 are bad. My last hope is the 1224. I realize that some people love NB and that is fine with me. They just don't work for me.

I'm 53, have been running for 27 years, and this is the best shoe I can remember using. There may be others out there better for me but "you can't try them all". I run 7 to 12 miles every other day and have used these shoes for about 6 weeks now. I might add that I use orthotics.

Fri, June 13,2008:
I am a 230 lb. flat footed runner. I used to run in the NB 1010 but these shoes are lighter and much more comfortable. I use the blue superfeet as well. These shoes have corrected my over-pronation better than any other shoe I have worn. No blisters, no complaints.

Wed, March 19,2008:
I did not like this shoe. It caused blisters on both inside ankle bones because of a poor design. If you have flat feet, don't buy this shoe.

Mon, March 17,2008:
Stiffest shoe I have ever put on my foot. I'm wearing the beast and have been looking for another shoe to rotate. The 1011 is great for over-pronation, sometimes I feel that the stiffness itself is doing the job. Have superfeet insole in them and no problems yet. Not as comfortable as the beast.
29.    Roy rated this product 4 stars
Sat, March 01,2008:
These shoes are bulky, but lightweight. They protect my feet great but not much stability for the ankles. Not to good for those who wear orthotics.

The 1010 is far better.
