Comments about Womens New Balance 1224 Running Shoe:

This shoe has better forefoot cushion than it's predecessors, but it gives me blisters inside both heels. It must have a narrower heel cup. I like it, but probably would go up one width if I were to order it again.

Right away, I can run in 10 miles in these with no breaking in time. I've had throbbing pain in my calves at night for months, but with these, it has gone away. My only gripe is that the inside heels wear out quicker than other shoes I've worn. Other than that, I get about 450 miles on each pair!

My feet feel great in these shoes, so great I am going to buy a 2nd pair and I just bought these 3 weeks ago. They only thing I don't like about them is they are noisy, a squishy sound coming from the intersole. It is like I just got out of running in water. You can hear me walking from a mile away but I will put up with it since I just love the comfort of the shoe.

They were the very best, and it looks like every other woman runner out there agrees with me. Comments about Womens New Balance 1224 Running Shoe:

This shoe was recommended to me for my long distance runs, since I tend to get blisters on my big toes. I went for a 10 mile run and wasn't able to finish it due to the blisters I ended up with on my arches, but they didn't give me any blisters on my toes. I do not recommend this shoe at all. Very disappointed.

Comments about Womens New Balance 1224 Running Shoe:

The the cushioning is exceptional. However, that sadly is offset by an uncomfortable upper and inadequate arch support. The plastic arch lock and welded overlays are extremely irritating, especially for anyone with bunions and others who need a lot of toebox depth. This shoe is recommended for bunions, yet even in a D width the arch lock and overlays seriously impinge and irritate. The arch support is seriously lacking. The shoe also runs very long. Bottom line: I had high hopes for this shoe, and it sadly just isn't working out for me...

I have been a fan of these shoes since the 1222. The 1223 was almost as good so I figured I couldn't go wrong with ordering the 1224. After 2 wears, my heels and metatarsals felt bruised. They are much stiffer and the claim of "cloud-like cushioning" did not hold true. I have a morton's neuroma and this edition was not protective of my problem as it had been in the past. Everyone's having to cut costs, and unfortunately New Balance must be experiencing the same with using less quality materials.

I have run in New Balance for 26 years. Every pair I have ever gotten has been better than the one before...except for this shoe. I want the 1223 back! It was very comfortable and I loved them from the moment I tied the laces. The 1224 didn't feel comfortable right from the start. They are too stiff and the toe box seems smaller as my toes have gotten blisters, which has never happened to me before. SO, order more of the 1223's in 6.5 B please!

These shoes felt like I was running in wooden clogs. Plus, I got a nice big blister on my inner heel. Tried them for three runs and sent them back.

I run 6-8 miles a day and have been plagued with chronic quad soreness for the past year. I had been running in Saucony, then Nike, the pain continued. After 2 runs in the 1224 the pain is gone. I love these shoes.

I'm a female with a larger frame and weigh over 150. I have regular to flat arches. These shoes give the support I need in all areas! I was having chronic calf pains and chronic shin splits previously. After running in these shoes for one week, I feel as though those pains are now a part of the past due to the large amount of support and cushion they provide! Yeah for NBs!!! p.s. I usually wear a size 11, and I wear these in a size 12... because the toe box is more squared off in NBs you may find yourself going for a 1/2 size to full size larger.

Been thru at least 15 prs of shoes looking for something that didn't give me knee pain from the heel strike - and finally found these! I also have a bunion and have not had any problems so far - have run an 8.5 and 6.5 miler so far as well as a few shorts. Very comfortable.

Loved the 1223; hate the 1224. Not good for anyone with bunyons or heavy heal strike. NB logo strip hits right at the bunyon point (1223 had breathable mesh at that point). Cut outs in the heal and forefoot causes shoe to compress and breakdown quicker than 1223. (If you like that technology, go for the Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4). Frankly, NB really screwed up with this shoe design. I wish they would bring back the 1223.

Not the same shoe as the 1223. They are longer in the toe box. I am wearing a 1/2 size smaller than my 1223
