Gave me everything that I was looking for in a trail shoe. It had enough grip on the bottom and the wide platform gives me great stability!

Excellent shoe. Very cushy. This is not a stability trail shoe. This is absolutely a neutral trail shoe. I am a neutral runner w/ high arcs. The new 910 are now classified as neutral. Otherwise fantastic trail runner.

Disappointed. I'm on my second pair in 4 mos. First pair lost some tread and were replaced at no charge. Now just lost a tread on the replacement shoes. The tread does not look torn, the knobs just seem to separate from the outersole. Fit is OK but I really liked the previous models (906,908)a lot more for both fit and durability. I need a shoe that comes in multiple widths and NB is one of few choices out there. But I am looking to change brands now.

I'm very happy with my 909's. I have had them for a couple of months and find them excellent off trail and hold their traction well. They are up there with most comfortable shoes I have had.

Just finished my second run in these shoes, both on a combination of Dirt Roads and trails, up and down. I'm 70 and need cushioning and stability, and these shoes fill that bill, plus, come Fall/Winter, the water resistance will be great here in the NW.

i've been wearing the 900's for years for both trail and road running. The 908 is my favorite shoe ever. I hate the 909. They completely changed the feel of this shoe. NB added a bunch of padding around the ankle and they just don't fit my foot anymore. The older versions would wrap tightly around my ankle, which I liked because I've got a narrow heel and freakishly wide toes (134E). This shoe feels bulky and clunky. these also give me blisters on the ball of my foot behind my second smallest toe - a weird place to get a blister. your mileage may vary, but if you liked the 906/907/908...this is just not the same shoe.

I have been a big 900's fan since 2002. just ran for almost 2hrs in these on a combination of dirt road, asphalt and single trail. they are great. I own a pair of 875's and enjoy these more for the stability and ride. it's just too bad NB doesn't showcase these more (i.e. Runner's World ect.)

Fit is comfortable, though the ankle support is oddly low at the back. However, the lacing straps on each shoe came loose, making the shoe worthless. I modified them myself, poking a hole through the upper instead of using the straps and it seems to work fine. but for $100, the shoe should be more durable and the runner shouldn't have to make repairs!

I am strictly a trail runner, never on the pavement, and the tread is coming off after 200 miles. I my opinion didnt last as long as a $100 pair of shoes should. Otherwise they were comfortable

Sat, January 31,2009:
I liked the 900 series when it was more of an "all terrain" shoe than a true-trail model. I often train on both trails and asphalt so I need a versatile shoe. The 907's were perfect for my needs. The 908's were good, but not great. After one week in my 909's I’ve decided to turn them into a street shoe and look elsewhere for my next pair of trainers. (I’ll probably go back to a 908 while I can still get them.) The 909’s are far too stiff. There is no “give” for pavement runs, causing far too much shock. They even sound loud. The tread lacks the consistency of rubber and instead feels like a hard, slippery plastic.

Had to switch to stability shoe and after 2 trail runs this shoe provides the stability I need. So far very happy with the shoe. Toe box is a bit bigger than my other NB shoes and seams on the inside, under the laces protrude a bit more than my other NB running shoes.

I have made a few trail runs the past week with these new shoes. I am very pleased with the traction and very happy with the ankle support. The toe box is a little more roomy for my liking, but I will probably appreciate it on really long runs.

Got these yesterday and just completed a 5-mile trail run with them. I have NB 907 (not bad), but these are much more stable for the mid-foot and heel. Also better heel cushioning. The sole tred is great! The trail was very wet and lots of tree leaves down. I felt very stable with the shoes. I would recommend them.
