I have always have a very hard time finding a shoes that would fit my feet. in all aspeacts. With ALL other shoes that I have tried I eaither got one that fit my arch and did not help my underpronation. Or the order way around. I was weary of trying this shoe. But I said what the heck if they don't work then I can always return them!!! NO NEED for that!!! I called back and ordered 3 more pairs so I can rotate! This is the BEST SHOE EVER

I have been using the 870/880 series for apx. 20 years. I made the mistake of buying the 1123 (see my review). The 883 is a great shoe in terms of cushioning and support. I like the New Balance SL-2 fit system. I am 6'0" and 175 pounds. I have not had any problems with these shoes. I am sticking with what works and doesn't hurt.

I have run in this series fore ever and have been very happy until now. At 210#, usually turn over shoes at 330 miles. These shoes felt good as usual and fsat but began breaking down at 150 miles. I am now looking to try another shoe. (ASICS Nimbus 11)

They feel great with my orthotics in them. Large toe box and good for walking or running.

These shoes were recommended to me by a running store. I have normal to high arches. These shoes are eating me up. They are truly for low arch runners.

I really like these shoes, they are much lighter than the 882s they replace, a huge plus. They wear well and my orthotics fit well. They are a little slow, I've a pair of Nikes that I race in, but these are great for long runs around the neighborhood where time isn't an issue.

Great shoe, though my favorite version in this series was the cushy 880. I disagree with Richard Roth who gave it a 1 star... previous shoes in this series never really had "ample arch support." No plastic or dense (greyish) foam anywhere in the heal. No plastic or stability in the middle. This series has always been a cushioned/neutral shoe. Contrary to the description, I don't have a flat foot and I still enjoy the comfort of this shoe.

I have flat feet but do not have the typically associated over-pronation (I am neutral). For me, this shoe works perfectly! These are not jack-of-all-trades shoes (they don't claim to be), and these will not provide adequate support for high arches. But when NB claims "The best choice for neutral runners with flat arches," this is the truth. Previous reviewer rated them a 1, but I think he expected it to work for high arches. Read the description - if you're flat/neutral, these fit the niche! If you need arch or over-pronation support, I recommend ASICS Foundation 8's.

I have owned 5 pairs of shoes from this series so obviously I liked them. However, the 883 represents a significant change in design and I found the fit so poor that I had to return them. Previous models have had ample arch support but these do not. When they say that they work well for flat arches they mean it. They do not work well for high arches like previous models did
