Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: Purchased roughly 2 months ago as new rotation for ongoing marathon training. I generally run around 40 miles per week, so I need a shoe that can hold up to a beating. Used the Nike Structure Triax 12 and the Asics 3010 with good success. Heard good things about the NB 1225, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: 235 LBS/ 6'2"...LOW ARCH/ STANDARD RUNNER/14 MILES-WEEK...I love this shoe, very stable, light, fits like a glove. Tried many others in the past and nothing comes close. Well worth the investment... Had problems with asics being too stiff causing mild shin aches, then tried a Brooks shoe that was causing leg-foot pain after 3-4 miles. I opened the 1225's and ran 6 miles out of the box! (for me that's far) Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I'm 5'8" and weigh 215 lbs. I haven't liked this model since the 1220, so I was a little apprehensive. After trying them on, they didn't feel as well cushioned as my previous Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4 or Nike Air Equalon 2. After a short 2 mile run (after a three month running layoff), I absolutely love this shoe. It is relatively lightweight and provides excellent cushioning. I am prone to shin splints after a period of inactivity, but that was not an issue with this shoe. Highly recommended! Pros

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I am 5'9" 160lbs; run 25 miles a week. Great shoe, I brought half size up and 2e...what a excellent fit. Performance is outstanding from the fit to the cushioning. Hopefully, the 1226 is as good, but I am stocking up on the 1225. Enjoy the Ride!

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I have run two half marathons and many other road races short and long. I have found that New Balance shoes wear very well and are comfortable for big runners. The key I have found is to use good insert/insoles along with shoes. I will continue to wear New Balance and recommend them to all my friends.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: 5'10" 190lbs average arches. Just retired my beloved 1224's because the cushioning was beaten down due to miles and miles of my former 205 lbs thumping away at them. Got the new shoes late last week and have logged 32 miles on them so far. My 4,4, and 8 mile runs on the treadmill were great and my 16 mile long run on uneven, country roads was good too. Maybe it's the placebo effect of the new shoes or week 12 of marathon training, but I had my best times in these shoes on the treadmill. I have also run in the Asics Gel Kayano 13 through 15 and found those to be pretty good. Bought these in 2E width to avoid the overlapping toes. Only negative was that on my 16 mile, it seemed like the inside of my right heel felt like it was rubbing slightly. No blisters. Will monitor.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I'm 5'7'' 170 lbs. Mild overpronater, run 25 miles week. I have been trying out several shoes to find "the one" I've run in Saucony Pro Grid Guide 2, Etonic Kendari SC, Ascics. Overall these are the most comfortable from a ground striking standpoint. Excellent blend of stability and cushioning for a slightly heavier runner like me. My only complaint is they are maybe a little too roomy even in my normal size so DO NOT ORDER A SIZE UP! I feel like the collar and forefoot are a little wide even in the normal width. My foot moves a little and leads to tender spots/blisters which i don't get in any of the other shoes. If I try to lace up tight it is uncomfortable also. If it wasn't for this I would buy 10 pairs and give 5 stars.
Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: great support and cushioning for clydesdales. I have a normal arch and could feel the support from the first run. I have had the shoes for 4 months and run 15-20 miles a week. great durability. Pros

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: THIS was the best running show I have ever purchased.I started running with team in training and this was my first running shoe I have ever ran in long distance..I ran many distances with this shoe..Last year I ran 4 1/2 marathons with a few 5 and 10 k's here and there plus training from 3 to 20 miles...I accomplished my first marathon this jan 2011 and it took me all the way to the finish line..Now im searching for my next pair but i had to find somewhere else...these are the best comfort on the road, light and made you feel like you were running on a cloud..

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: Visited the store in San Diego in June with my son who was visiting from Texas. [...] My son and I are both Clydesdales in the running world. [...] my son and I both liked them. I purchased the blue ones. I purchased another pair for my son size 114E which happened to be the last pair in existience. I hope you continue to carry this shoe in the future.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: Best shoe yet in the 1200 Series. My only complaint is that the arch in the shoe breaks down at about 300 miles, while I would expect it to last to about 500 miles. I'm on my 4th pair, even given this drawback, because I can't find a better performing shoe.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I've worn NB shoes since my Dad first took me running almost 30 years ago. Tried a few other brands along the way as a second pair of trainers, but always came back to NB for their fit, comfort, style, and durability. I tend to average around 25+ miles a week (depends on what I'm training for). Unfortunately over the past year I've purchased a pair of 1224s and a pair of 1225s both of which I've had the same problem with within the first 2 months. The lower, inside web "eyelet" of the NLOCK lacing system has pulled out of one or both of the shoes, rendering the shoe useless as you can no longer lace it properly. Never had that problem with any of the other NB NLOCK shoes I've owned (3 pairs of 1223s and the 769's I use now as a light trainer for speedwork). While the New Balance customer service was kind and responsive, replacing my 1224s with a new pair of 1225s, that pair fell apart as well. Sending my second pair of 1225s back to Road Runner Sports and exchanging for 1012s as I'm an overpronator and could use the extra stability/motion control anyways. Really hoping I don't experience the same quality deficiencies or may have to break the long relationship I've had with NB and go looking for a new brand.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I run 5-6 days a week. 40 miles a week average. 2-4 marathons a year. I've been getting about 400 miles per pair, before I begin to feel my legs getting tired. They don't look worn out at this point, but I feel it in my legs. They're retired to street shoes, or donated at this point. I'm 180 lbs. Almost all running is done on asphalt or pavement, although I've worn them for several trail marathons and they've performed great. No problem with traction on the trails. They seem to dry fast.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I love New Balance shoes and thought the 1225 would be a logical choice since at the time I was weighing 214 and the shoe is designed for larger frames and durability. After only logging 190 miles the tread on the right heel wore all the way down to the cushioning. I feel I should have gotten 100 more miles out of them, but I was on the heavy side. Now, I am going to try the 993 instead of the 1226. Overall, I do think they are a great shoe and would recommend them.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: This product is about as good as it gets. A little more cushioning in the sole would make it perfect.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1225 Running Shoe: I run between 15 and 20 miles a week and love this shoe. It is very supportive, but is still really light. I was also really impressed by the durability of the shoe. I was able to log over 520 miles on my first pair of 1225's and am now rotating between a second and third pair. I wouldn't change a thing about it.
