I can walk, jog & run again!!!

5

About a 1 1/2 years ago I shattered my left ankle (trimalleolar fracture) and have had trouble doing any exercise since. I couldn't find a shoe that gave enough support without rubbing where my plate & screws are, that allowed enough room in the toe box to accomodate my bunions, and that gave enough support to combat my pronation and weak ankles. I spent a fortune on different brands/models of walking/running shoes...but ahhh..these are PERFECT!! I can walk several miles and even jog/run in them without pain. Thank you Shoe Dog for recommending the perfect shoe!

I purchased two pair

I was experiencing pain in both knees and went to a physical therapist. My physical therapist diagnosed that I have over pronation and he recommend this shoe as this is a stability shoe that would help with the pronation This shoe along with stretching exercises have decreased the pain in the knees and I am now running much more comfortably. With that I purchased a second pair I have had reconstructive foot surgery on both feet and before I started running I contacted my podiatrist to confirm that these shoes would not interfere with my custom orthotics and he gave me the green light

I only gave this product a 4 star because unfortunately, it is being discontinued by the NB and upgraded to 1226. I have purchased the 1225 NB twice, used it for all of my long runs. I have had the advantage rotating different shoes for different runs throughout the week. I know that I can rely on these shoes for my long runs that the first one I purchased, I put in over 300 miles on them. I originally thought they were bulky but once i started using them for my long runs, they proved to be reliable and with great support.

Great Runner

I am currently training for the MCMarathon. I run 70+ a week (which is likely why I feel they wear out quickly). As far as cushioning, I like alot of cushion. However, these have very little in my opinion. I traded the idea of cushy for practical. I have had no injuries wearing 1225s and I am on my 6th pair. I tried the 1226 once, and immediately went back to the 1225. 1225 has more room in the toe box and width in general. I like the length and width of these. The purple blue ones are much nicer looking than the yellow/green. I have them in 3 colors.

Good comfort and stability

I like theses shoes and have been wearing them the last two years. I order a size up from my regular size, but honestly, they are about a 1/4 size too large in the toe. Other than that, they fit very well. Their cushion and stability help with a disk issue I have and keep my bunion in check. I do feel they wear out slightly faster than other shoes I have owned, but overall, a great shoe.

I would buy this product again and again

5

After having foot surgery, I tried on many shoes that were uncomfortable in one area or another until I was told about the New Balance 1225 from my Road Runner Specialist. They were fantastic and I just bought my second pair and referred a friend with foot problems. She too bought 2 pair and loves them. The width and the support these give are like no other.

Just ordered my 2nd and 3rd pairs.

5

I wore these shoes right out of the box for an 8 mile run with no chafing or rubbing. Great stability and much lighter than the cushioned shoe I switched from. Ordered just 1/2 size up from my regular shoe size, but 1/2 size smaller than the running shoes I had been wearing-you may need to experiment to find just the right fit. Love them so much I ordered 2 more pairs.

Great stability shoe

The ASICS Kayano 15 started giving me foot problems. I have been wearing the Kayano's for years. I tried on the 16s at a local running store and the fit was awful. It was worse then the 15. So I needed to look for a new brand in a stability + shoe. I am very happy with 1225. I feel very stable on my runs, there was no break-in time, very true to size.

5

I get shin splints real easy. One day I did a search on "How to prevent shin splints"? and the N1224 showed up. I bought those and wore them out. Then I bought the 1225 and love them even more. I could not ask for a better show. I have always been and always will be a New Balance customer.

Love the 1225!

This has been a great shoe for me and have ordered a second pair. I did put inserts in them because I was having issue w/toes going numb on right foot & it helped alot. Love the shoelaces, training for NY marathon and these are the shoes to wear!

The shoe fits very nicely one full size greater than my regular shoe size. Its comfortable and seems to have adequate stability (I dont need a lot). My only complaint is the amount of cushioning, especially for the front foot. I am carrying extra 20 pounds and was looking for more cushioning to protect my feet.

Great performance Great style

5

I think these shoes have great stability and style. I just started running again after a year or so and I have not had any problems with them. They keep me going on my run because they absorb a lot of shock. I really enjoy running in them.

Very Pleased

5

I have wide flat feet. I find arch supports make my feet feel worse. I can work out and walk better with good cushioning and good fitting shoes. I wore these comfortably straight out of the box...to the gym and to work. I got them on the daily special and would have bought two pairs if I'd have known how good they feel.

COMFORT SAYS IT ALL

5

When I normally buy a new pair of running shoes, it takes a week or so to break them in. I wore these once and they quickly became my favorite running shoes ever. They felt broken in after the first wear! I love running in them!

I am an endurance athlete. I put on a lot of miles on my shoes. I broke these shoes in with no blisters. I only had them for two weeks and plan to run a marathon in them with complete comfort.

I run between 15-35 miles a week during season, and these were a great change of pace for me, an avid Mizuno wearer. I usually go a full size up on my shoes, but these I ended up only going a half size up.

2

These are quite bad, really, and it's a huge disappointment. And since New Balance makes you go through an irritating registration process just to send them basic feedback, I'm opting to list my specific complaints here for all to see instead. First, the lace on the right shoe is considerably longer than the left. It's quite strange and just inspires no confidence. All I can guess is that they had some sort of packaging mixup. Perhaps someone pushed this product to manufacturing too soon. Second, the tongue on the left shoe keeps slipping down, and that becomes quite painful. There appears to be no fix, and I've got the laces looking and feeling just like the right shoe. I've never had this problem with any shoe before. Third, the toe box had changed, not for the better. It's narrower than the 1220 or 1223 models, just a tad too narrow for me. Conversely, the toe box is longer, possibly too long. I'm worried I'll trip on it. And lastly, but critically, the arch

5

I've been a Nike fan for a really long time so I was reluctant to try something different but I'm so glad I did! I LOVE the New Balance 1225. It provides great stability with every stride. It's cushiony-not hard like some other runninng shoes-and amazingly light. The toe box offers plenty of room and the shoe is extremely flexible. There was no 'breaking in' period. The first day I had them, I comfortably ran 8 miles but I wanted to wait a month before writing a review to ensure I still loved them after the novelty of having something new wore off. I do. These sneakers are amazing!

I am heavy. 250# and feel that these have an excellent heel support. I use these for daily walking as well as 5K races for fitness. I have low arches and tend to underpronate. The salesperson at the NB store told me that the 1225s weren't really the correct type of shoe for my foot, but I disagree. They are perfect. My only beef is that they seem to wear out fast. My husband disagrees and says that I wore the shoes out! At any rate, I purchased a second pair and since they are endangered...I plan on trying to get another pair to have in reserve. Great shoe!

1

i originally gave this shoe excellent ratings. However after running in them for about one month, these shoes were streamlined so much, it has lost the new balance comfort that someone like me with WIDE feet enjoyed. The toebox is smaller so it hurts my bunion, and the lateral aspects of my feet hurt from the snug feeling around the midpart of the shoe. i am horribly disappointed because i have always loved this series from new balance. and the cushioning wears out very fast...:(

I have always loved New Balance's 1200 series...but with the 1225s new balance has achieved perfection. I LOVE these shoes!!! The cushioning on this shoe is incredible. I just ran 17 miles today and i felt like i was running on air. It says to buy shoe a whole size up, but half a size worked for me. and the toebox is so comfortable for someone with wide feet like me. These shoes are going to feel great when I run my marathon. This is a must have shoe...:)

Very comfortable sneaker

5

I work out 5-6 days a week and finding a comfortable shoe was very important to me, when I received the shoe I put it on it felt very good, perfect fit, my immediate thought was " will it continue to feel comfortable while I am running" Well guess What! The shoe was very comfortable and my co-worker complimented me on my shoe, she said they are cute.. They also look good on my feet, I am very happy with this shoe, I am very picky so this was just perfect. Thank you Road Runner!!!

I had tried numerous pairs of Asics and suffered from foot and knee injuries. Since changing to the NB 1224/1225 I have been completely injury free and training for my 3rd marathon this year. Shoes DO make a difference so if these don't work for you keep trying until you find a pair that is perfect for you. I also wear inserts with these shoes and rarely have any hot spots or tender areas when I am done with 20 miles. Great shoes for me.

Not a fan of the NB 1225. Tried them after running in Kayano 15's for the last 8 months. Didn't have enough cushioning in my opinion and felt hot spots at the ball of my foot on 10-15 milers. Took them back and tried the Saucony Hurricane 11's. So far so good. Had to switch shoes due to a lack of ankle support in the Kayano 15's. Also the toe box was much too wide and the shoes felt heavy causing my pace to feel sluggish.

the info told me to get this shoe a 1/2 size bigger, but i decided to stay with the size i am. and i'm glad i did, because it's not quite a 1/2 size larger than my shoe would normally fit, but it's enough to tell a difference when i walk! however, when i use winter socks, they fit perfect! other than the size issue, they are pretty great for running!

Very light shoe. Feels as though I am wearing the Adrenaline with a lot more support/cushioning in the front where I need it. Going up 1/2 was too big...wearing my street shoe size with thin socks. RRS customer service made it easy to exchange at store. Terrific RRS customer service.

I really loved the 1223. The 1224 series were terrible. They felt more like a motion control shoe than a stability shoe. They really never felt worn in. The 1225 have a lot more forefoot flexibility but the cushion I love in this series. The shoes feel great.
