I have tried all of the top brands and loved these the most. I run anywhere from 3 to 14 miles and these never get uncomfortable. I have wide feet, high arches and under pronate and these are perfect. They are lighter than the 1062s and 1063s and provide even more cushioning. On top of it, the colors rock! Love the purple and think I'll try the blue too. Absolutely fabulous!!
An excellent pair of shoes for long runs
I've been using the 1060 series of shoes since I began serious distance running several years ago. I love the cushioning of the shoe, and it holds up very well for the mileage. The 1064 has been my favorite version of this shoe so far. It is lightweight, wide enough for my feet, and I don't suffer any discomfort during my run. As I used to experience some seriously achy feet during my long runs, this is an important plus for me. The only downside of the shoes is that they are a little stiff when I initially break them in and my arches ache a little until I've run in them a few times.
I just did a 21-miler in these and they were perfect!
My favorite running shoe
I am a 5K runner, so just keep that in mind. I have been running for over a year, and luckily for me the first pair of shoes I purchased were New Balance 1064. I tried on about 10 different brands, but none felt as comfortable as soon as they were on like the NB. They have held up really well, running 3 miles 3X a week, but I also wear them daily for general wear, and they are still going. I just bought another pair from RR because they were on sale. The newer model does have better shoe laces - the old model would come untied when running periodically.
If these shoes fit your foot type, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect for supinator
I am a suppinator, mid-foot striker that runs 4-5 times a week. I was running in the Succony Triumphs. The Triupmhs would wear out on the outside of the forefoot quickly. I do not have that issue with the NB 1064's. Have found them to be a well cushioned shoe. Other NB & Succony I'd wear a size 9.5D, and in the 1064's I wear a 9d.

New Balance Comes Through Again
I always wear New Balance, and the 1064 holds up to New Balance's reputation. The shoes flex well and provide enough support (I have an average arch) for me. They feel light, which I like, but not as light as a track racing shoe. I usually wear them on a dirt and gravel road, and they are great. I ran on pavement in them, and I did notice that my heels were sore the next day - might be me, but the cushioning may not be enough for people who run long distances on pavement. Try them out, though, if you typically wear New Balance - you won't be disappointed.

I love them!!!
First I ordered the 8.5 as I always go .5 size up on running shoes...however these seemed like all shoe and slowed me down and just not right. So I returned and got an 8 and they fit like they were made for me. After my first run my toes did feel a little tingley which I do not get with the larger sizes but I will deal with it as I am sure they will stretch some and it did not make my run uncomfortable at all. I wish I would have bought a couple pair as the daily treat. I love them, feel like pillows all around my feet. Great shoe and really can not find anything I did not like, even love the snake effect color!
This is my favorite Running Shoe EVER!
I run on average 20+ miles per week, and do plyometrics 3 days a week and since I got these shoes my regular knee and hip stiffness has noticeable been reduced. In the past with Saucony and Asics, I have had to use an arch support, but not anymore! The cushioning is amazing. The only thing I would make a change to is the design of the laces. Sometimes, the tongue is allowed to slip to the side. No real discomfort, just kind of lopsided after awhile.

Love this shoe!
This shoe is wonderful...I love that it is slender, really cushy, & lightweight...I love NB...and have not been so happy with a Neutral shoe since the 1041...I wish this shoe would become a classic so that I would not have to try so many shoes "next season" ...Each season's so called upgrade seem to be so dramatically differnt...you do not need to improve on perfection in my oppinion...this shoe is perfection...thank you Road Runner and thank you, New Balance! :)

I want to wear it all day.
I wear this shoe everyday, I try to get in 5 or 6 miles in the morning and a couple in the evening. I live in a very warm climate, so I do not always run, I do an interval walk most days during the summer. This week the temps have been milder and I got more run in. I am proud to say that at 48 years old I got 6 miles, 2 steep hills, 2 rolling hills, and 2 somewhat level, completed in 54 minutes. I will definitely buy this shoe again.
I recently got these and so far, they have been great. I have plantar fasciitis (sp?) and knee trouble, so I must have good shoes and these fit the bill. They have great support especially for my high arch, and they're very comfy. I belong to a boot camp fitness class and we do everything - you name it. (I don't run tho - my knees don't like it - but I do power walk.)
Good running shoes
Bought these shoes to train and race in. Needed to get a wide in these running shoes, normally wear a regular width. They felt great running, and had great traction running down lovers leap. However, the one big issue was that my right shoe came untied 1/2 mile from the finish line. Had to stop and tie it as the whole shoe became loose. Overall a great cushioned shoe, might want to try different laces.
my new favorite
This shoe feels great as soon as you put it on. With other shoes I sometimes need to break them in quite a bit before heading out on a run, but these are great right out of the box. The only bad thing I can say is that you can definitely feel when they need to be replaced. They last a while but for some reason once they go I can feel it right away, so it helps to have a new pair waiting.
Best shoe EVER!!
This is the best shoe ever for an underpronation. I also have had many ankle injuries...not in these shoes. It is a classic neutral shoe. I was an avid 2100 Asics wearer for over 10 years....I will never go back to Asics after experience the world of New Balance 1064...Love, love this shoe. I average > 30 miles a week.

A go-to shoe
I've had several foot surgeries and need a comfortable neutral cushioned shoe and this is the perfect pair. The roomy toes box helps keep blisters away. I have had multiple pairs of this version and love them. I run fairly high mileage all year long and run in all types of weather. This is my workhorse shoe.

LOVE my NB1064!
I only wear New Balance for my runs. I just keep buying this neutral shoe year after year (style number changes, but the shoe remains almost the same) The only complaint I have is as I run, I wear out the inside back of the heel, it has happenned with every pair I have owned. I did get little adhesive pads for the back and it worked great. Love Road Runner too, service is great and I get my shoes next day. (and I live in the country!) Thanks Road Runner! Thank you New Balance!

Love these shoes!
I love these shoes for jogging. They are comfortable right out of the box. The no-slip laces work great. I even used these shoes to hike in while on vacation. I know that's not the recommended use for the shoes, but they worked great! No slipping and great traction on the trails.

New Balance are my friends
I wore these shoes to train for the 2010 Atlanta 3-Day For The Cure. I walked 14 to 70 miles a week in them and they're still comfortable. LOVE this shoe. I bought another brand and was not happy - returned them for another pair of 1064s. STRONGLY advise getting 1/2-size bigger than your normal shoe.
Great shoe for those with orthotics
This shoe is great if you use orthotics. It's pretty neutral; I have high arches and roll inward when I run, but this shoe keeps you aligned like a champ.
Also, if you have regular arches, this shoe should be perfect for you. It's extremely supportive without being over-cushiony.
I supinate (underpronate) pretty moderately... also am running to lose some significant weight (80 pounds over ideal) so really needed the cushioning. These are great! I have often had a hard time finding good shoes for a heavy supinator- these are wonderful. Fit like 'an old shoe' right out of the box!

Great shoe for wide feet and high arches
It says to size up a half size which I normally always do. This shoe felt a bit sloppy when I went up a half size so I ordered my regular street shoe size. I have a wider foot and need room in the toe box. These are perfect for those reasons. I also have a higher arch and the arch feels wonderful.

Love these shoes!
I use these shoes for walking because I am not a runner. I am 62 years old and have issues with my wide feet that includes a morton's neuroma and heel pain.
These are the first shoes (I always wear NB) that I have not had to put in a gel intersole for more cushioning. They are great and I will buy them again when I need another pair.
I also just found this site and was over-joyed to see that you could send them back after wearing them outside.

Cushy but narrow
I run 3 to 4 miles on pavement or trails 3 days a week. I have plantar faciitis and high arches so I thought this would be a great shoe. However, the toe box is very narrow. The shoe is very cushiony and would be great for anyone with a narrow fore foot.
Ft. Walton Beach, FL
great running shoe
The first day I wore the shoes without gel inserts, the balls of my feet felt like they were on fire. The factory cushioning did not do the trick for a comfortable run. Afther I used the inserts, the shoe was great and it eleviated the problem.
Finally, a shoe that delivers!
I am very pleased with the performance of this running shoe. I have high arches and arthritis in my right knee from an old injury. Since using these shoes I have no pain in my knee or discomfort in my feet during moderate runs. Buy them 1/2 size up!
Re-purchase. Need I say more?
I got these just two weeks before my last half marathon and they were ready to go with minimal break-in time! 13.1 miles with fewer blisters than the other three. I just ordered my second pair.
This is now my "Go To" Running Shoe
I am training for my first Full Marathon coming up in January 2011. I usually wear custom inserts with my running shoes, but found that I didn't need them when I am wearing these shoes.
Running on air!
I absolutely loves these shoes! I use them for outdoor running and walking nearly everyday. I have searched high and low for the perfect shoe, and this is it! Thank you Road Runner!
College Station, Iowa
Lightweight and great support
Love the light weight of these shoes--they fit well in heel and instep but a little tight across the metatarsal (right below the toe joints). I adjusted the laces and they feel great even if I have a high arch.
Santa Cruz, CA
I would buy this product!
I have bought New Balance 1061, 1062, did not like the New Balance 1063, but love 1064. I will continue to be a New Balance fan as long as the fit is as good as the 1064!
I am an avid, fast paced walker on pavement and find this shoe to have great cushion and comfort. It is lightweight and breathes. A great buy.
