        Upper much softer than 850

              I previously ran in the 850, good supportive shoe but the overlays on the upper irritated my feet so I had to slice through them to run in the shoe. 940 upper is much softer and flexible, irritation free. Midsole is softer and a tad less supportive than the 850, but heel to toe transition feels smoother

                A very good update to the series, with a very smooth transition and rock solid stability...while still providing good cushion for my 44 year old 160lb self to trot along on. Only real complaint is that NB has eliminated it's excellent 'N-Lock' arch wrap...and it is noticably missed. Please bring it back NB!

                  rock-solid stable with a super-smooth h-t, I can really dig in these. Also, pretty good cush for the slow-paced jogging my 44 year old, 5'5", 160lb frame typically musters...which I think is mostly due to the quality ortholite insert NB pops in there, which seems just a bit plusher than those used in past models. Sizing is typical for this SL-1 model (same as predecessors). Only complaint is that this shoe no longer uses the great N-lock arch wrap...which is noticably missed(please bring it back NB!). Also, other color options would always be nice to have..though this one is nicely understated and not at all ridiculous-looking (like most running shoes sadly are).
