      Pro: I love the shoes. They fit like a glove, they grip well on rocks and gravel, they do virtually everything I expect of them. I have not been hurt in them (other than one long thorn penetrating the sole) even though I have bad knees.

      Con: The foot bed is starting to separate. I have to give this a major caveat because I started out walking/hiking in this shoe at 300 pounds and a little more.

      My general experience has been very positive. I read up on the minimal claims about helping knees and decided that this was a shoe to try. I went for the trail version because of the better traction and the fact that I do hike rocky trails in them. So far my weight is down, my knees are still doing fine and other than the one issue the shoes are doing well too. I'm probably going to get the road version as I get closer to the marathon I'm going to run/walk in January. I'm still a long way above the 180 pounds that RRS recommends for a maximum, but don't regret the switch at all.

        I rarely write reviews on products I purchase, but I feel so strongly about how great these shoes are that I figured I'd add to the one piece of praise already given them. I own a pair of Five Finger shoes, but they are not always acceptable or practical for everyday, casual walking and work. I decided to stop burning out my running shoes for non-running activities and took a gamble with the Minimus after reading the only review (5-star) on RRS. They really are amazingly lightweight and comfortable. The first day I wore them I received compliments on them. I hope they continue to impress me; I haven't worn a New Balance shoe since 2004, but they just might be on to something!
