Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Received an early pair of these and was doubtful that such a light weight shoe (under 10oz) would give me all the cushioning I need at my age (54).

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Normally run 20 miles per week averaging 5+ miles per run. Have tried a lot of trainers and normally use the ASIC ds 15/16s. Just had two runs in the 890's and couldn't believe how much forefront cushion there was. My feet usually are tired after the run but not with the 890's. I have had to use inserts with the asics for slight pronation but haven't used them in the 890's and have had no problems. The normal con of not lasting that long doesn't bother me since the trainers are 30% less than top of the line, price wise, other shoes. Give them a try, it's worth it.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: 5'8 165lbs. High arch, neutral runner. In the first week of owning them I ran 40 miles in them, with a long run of 20. Comfortable, great cushioning, breathable, no problems like hot spots, blisters, or any discomforts; which is a first for me in any shoe. They are durable enough for everyday use. The tread is different than the past NB shoes that I've worn and I feel like it won't wear out as fast. Unlike most daily trainers, they are not clunky. Time will tell, but so far I feel like this is the best running shoe I have owned in the past 10 years.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Out of the box, on to my feet and ran a 10.2 mile black top run. I could not ask for much more. I did have some issues with a hotspot in the forward area of the ball of my left foot. Since I have never experienced this before I have to say that the feel of a larger (wider) toe box may be the culprite. I changed to a different sock and tightened down on the laces a bit and repeated the run a few days later and the problem was gone. I love these shoes for speed and distance. Another pair is in my near future. Price is a great value for the performance.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Great new NewBalance fit, I'm rotating this in with my Nike Pegasus and Brooks Glycerins. I felt that the shoe fit was standard, I usually go up a size and it stayed the same on this one. I did feel that it ran a tad bit wide but thats normal on a NewBlance shoe. I wouldn't suggest this to a heavy runner, I believe a little more serious runner will enjoy this fit and feel. I wasn't happy on how the traction was on wet cemet and grass. It felt as if I was sliding around in it.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: I wanted a fast shoe that still had the support for 20-25 miles a week. Took them out of the box and went for a 3.5 mile run. My pace was faster than I've ever had on that route. They felt great, excellent grip, very light. I'm excited to log some miles on these shoes. Can't wait for my next race.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: I am 175#, medium build w/ high arches. Run ~6:30-7:00 min./miles. Use these 890 shoes for days in gym or fast 5 or 10k. Perfect for me on those types of runs.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: durable comfortable excellent shoe. I have 2 pairs 1 with 550 miles and 1 with 100 miles on them. Not one complaint. It's about time to hang up the higher milage shoe but I've had other brands that didn't last close to that long. My next pair of shoes will be another pair of 890s. For the record I'm 5'9" 160 lbs. Runs 40 plus miles a week.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Great shoe. Lighter than any other New Balance shoe I have worn before and just as comfortable.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: This is a great shoe, and the first light weight running shoe in wide widths that I have found and liked. I am an avid runner with 2 IM's and 4 marathons under my belt, and am currently training for another IM in November and Marathon in January. I have been through lots of different shoes and this is my new favorite. It is super light, very fast, and durable. It fits slightly snug in the toe box compared to the other New Balance 2E width shoes I wear. The snug fit is not terrible, but it is noticable. I was nervous about the snug fit at first, but I now like it. I have run on these 890's for 5 months now and I am buying another pair. I would buy 2 more pairs of these shoes if they came in better colors. I hope that the new versions have a better color designs in the 2E widths. This is the first "race" shoe I have owned since light weight racing flats do not address the market of runners like me. Great shoe, and New Balance almost got this one perfect, better color choices and this will be the only shoe I use in the future.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: For me the fit is true so I recommend that you don't size up. Lightweight and durable. This is the first shoe outside of the Asics family that I love and would buy another pair.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: My first use of lightweight running shoes. I am 5'11" and 185 pounds, and always wore heavily cushioned shoes. Recent arthroscopic knee surgery has encouraged me to focus on mid-foot/forefoot running, and my old thick-heeled shoes made this difficult and uncomfortable. The 890s have been perfect for me - Light weight and lower heel make mid-foot running much easier and take stress off my knee and Achilles. Fit is good (usual NB 1/2 size up). I don't know about durability yet, but so far so good!

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: 175# neutral gait, high/rigid arches. First thing I noted was that the toe-box felt narrow/tight for my taste. Has lots of forefoot cushioning, maybe too much. I felt a bump on the ball of my foot because of this. Some people may like this. They do feel very light and fast. They are nicely cushioned, but felt loose. Upper feels like cheap running shoes. I'm used to Nike Pegasus 27s and Kinvaras if that helps. I can see this as a very nice shoe for a light-midweight runner with normal arches that wants a light training shoe.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Right out of the box, these shoes felt different. In a good way. For the last three years, I've been faithful to NB 880 series (883 latest). It's a cushioned shoe, kind of heavy (12.2oz), large toe box built on a sl-2 last.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Like the lightweight feature of the shoe and the color. Have to get used to the thin shoelaces again which seem to come untied (even double knot them). Has a lot of cushion for such a light shoe.

Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: Offers great support and cushion for a lighter weight shoe. As a big runner, you don't get a chance to run in shoes this light and comfortable very often. Best pair of shoes I've ever run in.
Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: This is the best shoe I've bought in a long time. They feel fast and light weight but can be used as an everyday trainer. Great job New Balance. Pros
Cons Best Uses
Comments about Mens New Balance 890 Running Shoe: This is a great shoe, especially considering price. I have very hard to fit feet, and have been wearing the same shoe for almost 10 years. These could be my new favorite.
