Discovered I have a slight pronation, NB is the only road shoe I've found that has a width for my foot tat actually fits correctly. I wear a size 14 4E. Have tried Asics stability shoes in the past and could barely walk after a week, these fit like an old sweatshirt out of the box. Only knock I have is cushioning could be a little better but thicker socks will take care of that for me.

I run hard on my shoes -- lead foot of sorts -- but do long distance training for marathons. I really like the feel of this shoe, both in terms of comfort and support.

Not bad for big runner but wore out quickly. I am 6'2" 235lbs so i cant be too surprised the heel wore out. Not sure how many miles i had on them but they only lasted from May to Oct for me and the heel had worn to the foam cushioning. I am going to try Brooks Beast next or maybe the Brooks Glycerin's

I used the 1226 for a few years and then started buying the 1260 when it came out. As far as I can tell, the two shoes look, perform, and wear about the same which is to say great.

I'm 6'0" and 215 lbs with no mechanical problems. I buy two pair at a time and never wear the same pair two days in a row to give them time to dry out and the foam time to recover. These days I'm running almost exclusively in the gym about 20 miles per week and in that environment, two pair of 1260's have no trouble lasting a year.

I've never had any sort of failure on these shoes, they just wear pretty evenly. I like their wide open mesh too. They breathe well and don't hold a lot of moisture. As for cushioning, they seem to do very well for me at 215 lbs. No injuries, ever.

Unlike other reviewers, I find these shoes fit true to size. I wear a 10.5 US dress shoe and that's what I order in this shoe. They are comfortable and I never get blisters or feel my toes jamming into the front of the toe box. They may be just a little narrow but I like my running shoes tight.

Been a New Balance fan for a number of years. Bought this shoe last year for running (20 miles a week or so). Great shoe, but I had to send my first pair back and go up a size. Yes, I know they usually say to go up 1/2 size and that was considered. My normal shoe size is a 13 and I normally get a 14 in my running shoes. I just felt as though the shoe was too short. Wore them around in the house the first day or so and sent them back for a size 15. These were like a half size too big, but would rather be too big than too small. All in all they have held up well and have not hurt my feet in any way. I'm getting ready to order another pair now that they've been put on the endangered list.

I've had good luck with New Balance running shoes since the 1220, and I really enjoyed the 1226. This is the first model I really haven't liked.

I ordered two pairs. Both left shoes creaked when hitting pavement. This made for a bothersome creak-creak-creak as I ran.

I also developed painful blisters with these brand-new shoes on my first couple of runs. That's never happened to me before.

So, I returned both pairs for a refund and am trying out some different brands.

In the 90s, when I was in high school, I ran XC and was 9th in Western MA as a senior. I had Nike racers and always used a Saucony shoe (GRID Shadow?). Then, in 2008 I broke my left heel in a car accident, and needed new shoes.
I went through several pairs of shoes (definitely Merrill and Saucony, nothing against these companies) before reading up online about a way to overcome this.
Enter New Balance.
I tried on a pair of the 1225's at a local sporting store, LOVED AND BOUGHT THEM WITHOUT HESITATION, then went home and found a cheaper pair online and ordered them, too.
Cut to the chase, when I wore through the second pair I went looking for the same shoe, only to find that it isn't made anymore.
I tried a few other NB shoes, in the 400s and 800s, but none really gave my left ankle the support it now needs, and I was discouraged.

THESE SHOES ARE THE REMADE 1225s!!!!

Way to be, New Balance, way to be. These shoes are amazing; I get the support I need and, yeah, life's good; they rock.
I'm going to order another pair so I can use it in the gym! Running's difficult after the accident, but I walk all over in them, they'd be good on trails, too, as well as for running in.

(I went with the black color, and it's great) (order a 1/2 size larger than normal)

The 1260 is a good shoe. Similar to the 1226 but a bit narrower in width. I was wearing a 11.5 D but had to return that size and go with a 11.5 2E.

I also own the Brooks Trance 10 in 11.5 2E. Just as good with a little better cushion.

Make sure you try these out BEFORE buying a pair or be prepared to send them back to RRS. These newer Super running shoes can be a bit narrower than the older design models.
